House of Letters/House of Melodies
Hundreds of papers littered the floor, piled upon one another, reaching above ankle height. Joy snatched up one of the papers as Erik padded out, crumpling some of the papers.
In large red letters, it read:
Do not trust the one who lies. The one who lies is the enemy.
Eddie swallowed.
Joy and some of the others looked at several papers and realized they all said the same thing. Nina looked up from the papers in her hand, straight into Eddie's eyes, and in that moment, Eddie knew she knew something.
Nina tossed the papers down, grappled onto Eddie's arm, and pulled him away from everything, outside the house entirely.
"Let me explain," Eddie said quickly. "But first, tell me why we're out here."
"Because you're the liar. I feel your guilt."
"Oh, this feeling-bondage thing is really not in my favor."
"Well, apparently you're the traitor and you're turning evil, so tell me, how bad has it gotten? Have you even lied yet?"
Eddie blinked a few times. "Eh, um-uh..."
"Spit it out!"
"Ok, ok. I lied about the vision. Long story short, I was the one tormenting you guys, not Apep. A voice in my head told me all those descriptions about Apep, and I just said them."
Nina hit Eddie on the arm.
"Ow!"
"You deserve it!" Nina frowned. "You're giving in, Eddie. And you don't even realize..."
Eddie took a deep breath. "Well, what else am I supposed to do? You're the Chosen One; you're the one who has to help me here. So, tell me what to do!"
"I don't know everything. First things first, we need to look at that pocket watch."
"But then we'd have to tell the others because we aren't allowed to touch it. Bad things could potentially happen."
Nina sighed at him. "Then I'll get a glove. Come on."
Nina and Eddie went back inside. The others had begun to clean up the papers. Nina and Eddie passed them. Nina had gotten a glove out her room. She told Fabian shed be using his laptop, and that way, she and Eddie got into his room without question.
They closed the door and found the drawer Fabian was keeping the stuff in. Nina had on the glove and lifted the pocket watch to see the face. Nina's hand was still in the same spot where the twelfth hour would be, but Eddie's had already progressed to the first.
"Ok, so either one of us becomes completely evil after we reach the twelfth hour again. I still have time," Eddie breathed.
"Yeah, but you're already at the first hour on this thing. And yours isn't exactly all that consistent, so tomorrow, you could be at the sixth hour for all we know."
"There has to be something we can do though. There's always something we can do. Something can help us stop this."
"Well, it's no use when we don't know what it is."
Eddie sighed. He looked over at Fabian's laptop on the bed. "Ok, maybe we should actually use the computer."

After picking everything up, Fabian and Patricia entered into Fabian's room where Nina and Eddie still were. Eddie was laying on the floor, his eyes closed, but he was still awake. Nina was sitting on the bed, staring at the computer screen intensely.
Eddie peaked his eyes open to see the two entering.
"Any updates?" Fabian asked. He was going to go sit by Nina, but he caught himself, remembering they were still on their "break".
"I can't find anything!" Nina slammed the laptop down and covered her face with her right hand.
"Anything about what?" Patricia questioned, kneeling down by Eddie.
"About this whole evil thing," Eddie moaned in place for Nina's response. "And what it really means; how to reverse it-blah, blah, blah."
"And why are you on the floor?"
Eddie looked over at his wife. "It's the most efficient place for me."
Eddie suddenly rose up to a sitting position, and Nina lifted her head up.
"You hear that too?" Nina asked.
Eddie nodded.
"Hear what?" Fabian looked confused, as did Patricia.
"That music." Nina stood up. "That music...I know that music."
"Like a distant memory," Eddie added, rising up as well, Patricia coming up next to him.
"I have to go find where it's coming from." Nina ran out the room.
Eddie followed close behind, and Fabian and Patricia followed their lead. They hurried upstairs to the second floor, all the way to the room Nina and Fabian had first explored up there where she saw the blood on the walls and the faceless pictures hung on the walls.
On the other side of the room was a door.
"Fabian was that there before?" Nina panted.
"Um..."
"Answer me. Was it there?"
"No, no I don't remember a door."
Nina sped towards the door and swung it open quickly. They had discovered the source of the music. But that was not all they found.
