Night and Web
Nightingale and Webweaver... the completely cliche story of two sisters torn apart at birth, and later finding each other again... nope, not at all : )
It was the night of three full moons. An egg of silver sat in a pool of moonlight, until it shattered, revealing two small dragonets. Both were black as shadows, with wide eyes the color of midnight. This is where our story begins...

"Night, don't let them take me!" My sister screamed as a Nightwing came and picked her up, ready to carry her away.
"Put. Me. Down. Give. Web. Back." I growl at the dragon holding me.
"Afraid I can't do that sweetheart." The dragon holding me says.
"Who are you? Where're you taking Web? Why can't she stay here?" I demand.
"My name is Ginger." The dragon, Ginger, says.
"Why'd they take Web?"
"Because your sister is going to be a Nightwing." Ginger explains.
"What am I gonna be?"
"Your going to be a Rainwing, and you'll live with me. I've always wanted a dragonet of my own, and now I have one." She says, setting me down and giving me a smile. By then the Nightwing had already carried Web away, and by the time I saw her again, I'd almost forgotten I'd even had a sister.
><><><
Has she forgotten me? Thinking about my sister was the only thing that kept me sane in this hellhole the Nightwings call a kingdom. Its smelly, and hot, and there isn't any sunshine. Just darkness, and rot, and gross stuff. At least school's okay. Nobody bugs me, or bullies me. Then again, nobody really acknowledges that I'm alive either. I'm just that quiet dragonet that nobody notices, not even my teachers. I took this as an advantage. I could take the extra time to plan my escape.

The Rainwing village was practically empty, seeing as it was sun-time.
"Why don't you just try
sun-time, you might enjoy it." Mother said, appearing behind me. I knew she wasn't my real mother, I knew she was Ginger, but I just feel like it's the right term for the dragon that raised you.
"They already make fun of me for not fitting in, it'll just give them more satisfaction if they see me trying to fit in." I sigh, resting my head on my front talons. I feel Mother envelope me in a big hug, although it doesn't help much.
"Your just a little different Sweetheart, and thats okay. You can do amazing things with your powers, and eventually they'll all realize that."

I need to get out of here, and soon, this place is driving me mad, I said to myself. It was another miserable day at school, same as every day. Unluckily for me, it was today that someone finally decided to realize that I'm alive. I was just minding my own business, walking to my next class, when somebody accidentaly ran into me. Yes, they ran into me. I'd been watching where I was going, plus the ability to read minds helps in this case.
He was a fe- scratch that, a lot of years older than me, about 5. Of course, he tried to blame it on me, which I knew was going to happen. And oddly enough, someone stood up for me. He looked to be about my age, maybe a year older. Before he could tease me too, I ran off to class.
Whenever I saw him in the halls, he'd wave or smile at me, it was weird. I didn't even know him.
><><><
I only had one friend in the Rainwing villiage, her name's Pineapple, and she's the bestest friend an outcast could ask for. She didn't care that she'd get teased for hanging out with me, or that other dragonets would leave her out of things because of me. She just wanted to be my friend, and thats all that really matters.
"What're you think about now Nia?" She asks me. I don't know where she got it from, but she likes calling me Nia, so I let her.
"Nothing."
"Nia, be honest." She says, poking my shoulder.
"I'm thinking about my sister."
><><><
Another weird thing, I could not for the life of me hear the dragons thoughts. Either I'm not strong enough, or he can do it too and knows how to block it.
"Uh... hi." I turn to see the dragon from earlier. Why he was even bothering to talk to me left me astounded. I honestly didn't know what to say, having never talked to anybody else before and being taken completely by suprise.
"Im Troubleshooter." He smiles.
"And I'm leaving." I turn around and start to walk away. I look to my right and see him walking next to me.
"Come on Web, please talk to me." I stop abrutly, turning towards him.
"How do you know my name?"
I ask quietly.
"If you'd have bothered to stay and listen to me, which I already knew you wouldn't, I would have told you that I'm both a prophet and a mindreader." He smiles.
"Look, thats great and all, but why do you insist on talking to me?" I ask, turning around and standing up.
"Because, your destined for something great, and I want to help you along the way."
I might just make this into an actual book... what do you guys think?
