Addison's pov

Resting my head on my mom's lap with her hands playing with my hair, I love my mom so much she is the only person who I'll trust from now on.

I'm a mess, always trusting people easily, who on earth will believe what Joan did to me people will believe but I can't. I love that girl like she was my sister but all I get in return was regrets and heartbreak.

"Addison love, I know you are sad but love that's how life is." My mom said calmly as her hands played with my hair.

I raised my head from her laps looking at her watery brown eyes "Mom don't cry, I know and it won't weigh me down." I said with a fake smile as I cleaned the tears from her eyes and mine. Joan you are going to pay for making my mom cry, I promise you that.

"Mom, I'm home." I heard my little sister Angela shout as she entered my mom's room. she looked at me then my mom with a confused face.

"Is everything ok? why is it so quiet here and Addison, are you crying? tell me who the idiot, the asshole, the nincompoop that made you cry." she shouted with her eyes widely opened and her fist closed ready to pouch someone on the face.

"Calm down young lady," my mom hissed at Angela and turned to me with a smile " Addison dear, go to your room and rest. Please take your sister with you."

"I'm going for my after-school job now, Love you," I said as I stood up, and packed my bag. I don't know how it's gonna feel working with Joan after all this shit that happened today maybe I should quit, what the hell! never. I can't run away from her. 

"Let's go, Angela, mom is tired. I Promise to tell you when I get back from work." I said to Angela who has been quiet. She took her bag and followed me outside and we both went our separate ways. I entered my tidy room, charged my phone first, took a shower, and headed straight to work which took about 30 minutes ride.

I entered the restaurant owned by Diamond's mum, yeah I know that Diamond, I have to work there if I wanna complete my education, ever since my dad died things became hard even though mom didn't show it, she's stressing herself too much.

"Kiddo, come over here." a familiar voice called out, I raised my head and sighted Olivia my work friend waving at me with a big smile. Olivia is my friend she is cool to both Joan and me even though she is older, she also works to support her family. 

I walked towards her hoping that Joan wasn't there, I don't want her to ruin my day completely. The restaurant was full today with people which was unusual.

"Hi Oliva, how are ya?" I greeted with a smile still praying in my head not to see Joan.

"Fine, notice anything different? " she said with her usual smile. One reason why I like this girl is that she is always happy and always making people happy.

"Yeah, where is crowded," I said with surprise because The Fabulous Hangout has never been this crowded with people, yeah I know what an awful name guess who name it? Diamond.

"Because..." she stopped after a voice called out her name from the kitchen that's strange Diamond doesn't come here but that's not her voice either only Joan, Olivia, Liam who I can't see anywhere and I work here.

"Who was that?" I asked confused.

"That's the answer to your question why here is crowded." she smiled and walked towards the restaurant's kitchen.

I went to the change room to change into my work outfit after that I went to the kitchen and saw Oliva with Max wait for MAX, what is he doing here and why is he dressed like that? A whole load of questions stormed my head in a moment.

 Olivia turned towards me with a smile as she stood up and walked towards me "Oh, Addison you are back."

"Yeah," I said shortly which made Max turned to me with a surprised and concerned look. Why?

"I'll like you to met our newly employed work partner, his name is Max and he is the reason why... you know, he will be assisting you in attending to the customers," she said with a big smile winking.

"Yeah, I know him," I said as I walk towards the coffee maker.

"Really? how? are you guys dating? thank goodness you broke up with Michael." she said laughing.

"NO!' both Max and I shouted.

Olivia turned to us confused. "FINE, Max is she not beautiful?" She asked as she looked at Max with a smile that deceives people to always agree with her.

"Yeah, she is. We aren't dating but if she wants I can move her to the frontlist but unfortunately she dislikes me," he smirked looking at me.

"Dislike? don't use that word I prefer HATE!" I hissed as I walked out of the kitchen for the customer who has been waiting. Why is this boy everywhere and not Kelvin? I prefer Kelvin he is more mature and understanding, unlike this one. 

"Good day ma, how can I help?" I greeted the lady who looks like she is in her late 30s.

"Ma? do I look like a ma to you? we are almost the same age young lady," she shouted eyeing me.

What's with this woman? she is a mum. Why do I always have weird customers?

"Sorry, sis..." I said but got interrupted RUDELY.

"Hold it brat! I don't want you to attend to me. Where is that newly employed hot male worker? I want him to attend to me." she said eyeing me as her eyes scanned the whole restaurant looking for who I don't know. I don't have time for this drama today.

"Good afternoon ma." a bold deep voice greeted me from my back, I turned and so Max walking towards me with a sweet smile. Why is he smiling at me?

"How can I help you Mis...? "Max said with a smile approaching the dramatic customer. 

Crazy girl, you are always overthinking everything, my sub-conciseness said laughing. Sorry Max but this woman won't like it if you call her ma or worst Mis.

"Katherine. I'll love to have anything that you think is sweet." the dramatic customer replied blushing.

What's happening? minutes ago she was yelling at me now she is blushing. God, I feel like killing this woman right now.

"Really? come lemme show you the menu." Max said with an angelical voice and smile as he and the dramatic lady left for the menu board leaving me alone dumbfounded. What just happened? I hate this job. 

After hours of attending to people who were just yelling at me and request for Max which was fucking annoying. I stood up and headed for the door to receive some nice fresh air, I've been here for the past 5 or 6 hours, I don't know how many hours because our royal majesty Diamond said that phones are prohibited, stupid right?

"It's late already?" I said with surprise looking at the dark sky before sitting on the stairs outside the restaurant.

"Yeah, it's 9:30 pm" a voice from nowhere replied. I looked around to see who said that to my surprise I saw kelvin. Yes Kelvin, that kelvin the one with sense.

"Hi kelvin, what are you doing here?" I asked smiling. You are such a fool Addison he came here because his brother works here.

"Just came out for a stroll and decided to check out this place. You work here?" he asked with his sweet and dyeing fora smile.

"Yeah, I do and ..." I said about to mention Max before the restaurant's exit t door opened.
