After the forty minutes run, I finally reached the tall white building that is above 48 meters above the ground level which I've been living in for seventeen years. I was sweating like crazy which reminded me how much I hate exercising. 

Once inside the front gate, I greeted the two security guards with a wave. it might seem like I'm rich but I'm not, I swear. Finally, on the elevator, I pressed the button for the eighth floor. After few minutes the metal door opened and I walked out towards my apartment which is on the right side of the white-painted hallway wall.

I brought out the spare key from my pocket and was about to open the door when a noise caught my attention. I turned back but nothing was there except the door opposite mine.

"That's weird, no one lives there," I said to myself confused and with that, I entered my apartment.

As I entered the apartment I noticed something strange, I can't hear the noise of Angela's music coming out of her room and mom shouting over the phone. For the first time, the house is quiet which means that Angela would be asleep and so would mom. 

Thank goodness, mom won't know I left the house this late.

I locked the door and kept my slippers on the brown wooden shoe rack which is nailed on the gray wall. As I passed the living room for my room I heard a really angry voice shout out my name.

"Addison! Come here right now!" a familiar voice shouted out angrily from the living room.

I'm so dead. I turned back and started walking slowly to the Livingroom wishing that the ground could just open up and swallow me.

"Where did you go? and why are you this late?" she asked pointing to the wall clock as her brown orbs meet my timid ones. 

"I went to buy some menstrual pads since you finished mine," I replied before walking towards her and sat on her lap.

"Couldn't you have bought them tomorrow?" she asked pushing me away.

Why are they all saying pads are not important? we are all females and we know the importance of this material.

"Mum, I'm really tired. Do you need anything?" I asked immediately knowing that this argument won't end.

"You are so annoying." she hissed  "Yes, I need your help."

"With what?"

"Please I'll be really busy tomorrow," she said holding my hands with a smile.

"Mum just say it" I interrupted her. 

I'm not rude to my mom but whenever she acts like this, she wants something.

"Some people moved next door this night. Please tomorrow morning I need you to go welcome them and invite them over for dinner?" She requested with a big smile.

Oh, that explains the noise I heard earlier. No one had moved next to us before, honestly, it's nice and quiet. I don't like neighbors especially neighbors who just moved into the town newly.

"Mom, you know that I'm not good at those kinds of stuff," I said.

 "What should I say and how should I say it?" I asked frowning with my arms crossed.

This is one disadvantage of having a neighbor, first, you invite them over for dinner and next you give them a tour around the neighborhood. I don't like it.

"Just say hi, introduce yourself and invite them over for dinner, it's not hard" she angrily said.

"Sorry mom, I'm not interested. I've something to do tomorrow," I lied.

"What kind of a daughter are you?" she pouted.

"Fine, go away. I don't need your help anymore," she said with a sad tone as she stood up and left for her room.

"Mom, it's just that..." I said but she slammed the door in my face.

I know she's very busy, she was a doctor but retired and she's now a manager at an oil company, I don't know why she did that. Tomorrow I'm starting a new semester at school and I surmised mom was having trouble paying the school fees. Ever since dad died things have been hard especially for mom since she's the only one providing our needs and wants without any help.

I turned off all the lights and went to my room for a long sweet slumber. 

I entered my clean and tidy room and kept the pad in my drawer. "Gosh, need to rest my legs," I said as I laid on my bed about to sleep until SHE interrupted. 

"ADDISON, ADDISON!" my little sister Angela screamed out my name as she stormed into my room with a big smile on her face.

"What Angela? I'm not interested in whatever you want to say." I said and turned away from her.

"Shut up, look at these pictures," she said sitting next to me.

"Fine," I sighed and turned back to her. I took the phone from her to see that irrelevant thing. 

"I'm sure it's something irrelevant that you are so excited to show me." I looked down at her phone. to my greatest surprise, I saw something AMAZING.

"Wow, do you know these boys?" I said winking at her with a smile, "They are really cute and hot, are they brothers? because they kinda look alike."

"Stupid girl, how should I know? They are the new people who just moved next to us" she said as she collected her phone from my hand harshly.

"What? Really! I'm so stupid. Mom just asked me to invite them over for dinner and I refused. I'm so stupid" I shouted with regret hitting my pillow on the bed.

"Finally you know that you are stupid," she laughed at me hitting my bed "I'm so happy! We're gonna have cute hot neighbors," she said dramatically looking up at the white ceiling smiling.

I take back what I said earlier. I LOVE having neighbors.

"Leave my room right now Angela!" I yelled.

"Fine, fine," she said with a huff and left my room leaving my door widely opened.

"Can't you close the door!" I yelled making sure she heard me.

Angela is my little sister, I'm two years older than her. she can be a brat sometimes... wait she is a brat but I still love her. she is my only sister, I don't have any other siblings. We fight all the time but not physically just yelling at each other.

I need to tell mom that I've changed my mind. I left my room immediately, I could hear her snoring from outside, I quietly opened the door.

"Mom?" I called out quietly as I switched on the lights.

"What now Addison?" she asked rubbing her eyes as she sat on her bed.

"Sorry for disturbing you, I've thought about it and I'll help you,"

"Really but Why do you wanna go now?"

"Mom, I thought about it and I felt bad because you have been busy recently. Do you still need my help?" I lied pretending to leave.

"That's good, yes I still need your help," she said holding my hand.

"Please, that should be the first thing you do tomorrow, and make sure you smile," she said laughing at me.

"Yes mom, I won't start crying in front of them. Good night," I said kissing her cheeks and left for my room.

YES! now I need to sleep can't wait for tomorrow, I thought happily dancing to my room.
