chapter forty-five

N.J.H.
Two speeches, one horrid public kiss and a four hour flight later, we're finally walking off the plane and onto Jamaican soil. The second I step outside I take off my sweatshirt, the heat hitting me almost immediately. Harry does the same with his pullover, taking both of ours and putting them in his bag. At least two weeks here has to be something magical. I've never been in a place that could just, feel gorgeous.

"These buses will be taking you to the resort," Tiffany says with a painfully faux smile, "It'll be at least a two hour drive, so get comfortable."

She leaves us with her words lingering in the air and I sigh, picking up my backpack.

"Can we go to that bus?"

I point to the one in the far back and Harry smiles,

"Why so specific?"

"I dunno, that bus looks like it's gonna be the most fun."

He nods, taking my hand and leading the two of us to the bus.

"You're so random."

I look up at him and shrug,

"I have bus preferences."

We step on first, immediately choosing the far back so we can sleep together without being stared at. Harry looks extremely tired as we sit down, so I try to start conversation with him.

My first not so great idea.

"So how's the job search?"

That, was my second not so great idea. He groans, his eyes bulging out as he tries to form a response to me,

"It's not Ni, I dunno. It's hard right now, but don't worry about me. I'll get back on my feet."

I purse my lips together, but nod nonetheless. He leans down and presses his lips to mine, and my heart pounds heavier than it did before.

"Not on the bus," I smirk, "God, you always get antsy in public."

He giggles, a smile on his face before he presses his palm onto the inside of my thighs, kissing me harder,

"I just really want you, is all."

A whine escapes his lips and I huff, kissing him back while giving in. I sneakily crawl into his lap, pinning his arms to the seat. It continues on like that, sneaky and arousing. My phone buzzes a few times, but I can't pay attention to it as my mind is too focused on kissing Harry into oblivion.

"Niall!"

Louis' whisper shout startles me, and I look in front of me. He's sitting there, scolding me for kissing Harry so raunchily in a public place.

"Louis?"

"You know what I'm gonna say."

I sigh, climbing off Harry's lap and curling into his side instead. It's none of Louis' business, and though he was only looking out for the sanity to this romance, I really was getting antsy. He's a cockblocker, and that's that.

When we arrive at the resort, everyone is extremely excited. You could feel it as we were driving down the long driveway towards the place. Once the buses have all pulled over into the resort parking lot, the doors open and we're greeting with the humid, yet fresh air.

"Look at this place," Harry whispers, pointing towards the resort, "it's so open..."

"Wow," I whisper back, taking a closer look, "why?"

"The interior design must be for a reason," he concludes, "probably to introduce a more opening environment for their visitors. It makes sense, because all I want to do is stand in the lobby and feel the breeze flowing through my hair."

I look at him with a ridiculous face,

"What was that?"

"Enlightenment, Niall. Enlightenment."

"Oh my god," I pick up my back and walk away from him, "You little shit."

He giggles lightly, following suit as I hop off the bus.

"Where to?" I ask. He sighs wearily, looking around,

"Check in."

"Oh, duh..."

We both head up to the desk, receiving our information and our room keys. As soon as the painful wait is over, Harry and I are stepping into the elevator, with the light flickering softly.

"Quality light," he chuckles, "they can't afford to fix a bulb?"

I shrug, ignoring it and instead pressing the '6' button on the elevator panel. The door shuts and encloses us into our desolate silence. Why is it desolate? I don't really know, I guess I just feel it in my veins as we stand, isolated in our own minds.

"You know," he sighs, "there was one part of Los Angeles I will never forget."

"What is it, hm?" I mumble, looking up at him.

"It was running into the elevator," he turns, pinning my shoulders to one of the walls, "pinning you onto the wall and kissing you."

"God," A smile invades my face, "I remember that so clearly and perfectly."

"I remember it felt just like this..."

He pushes his lips onto mine, pinning my shoulders further against the metal. I cup his cheeks, kissing him back senselessly. Harry and I move in sync and I find myself really missing the feeling of his mouth rubbing against mine.

"You wanna cuddle?"

"Yes yes," I sigh excitedly, "please."

"Race you to the room."

The door opens and he pulls his lips from mine before dashing away. I chase after him, dashing through the infinitely long hallways. I swear we're running for five minutes before Harry turns down towards one of the doorways.

"Here--it's here!"

He pats himself, looking for the key, but I smack his butt cheekily before pulling it out of his back pocket,

"Dumbass," I chuckle, unlocking the door and pushing it open forcefully. But a huge gust of ice cold air smacks us in the face and I scream, backing up from the room,

"What?!" I reach into my carry on, snatching my sweatshirt, "I thought this was Jamaica, not Iceland!"

Harry shivers and opens the door further,

"It's a nice room but like, it's freezing," he concludes as he turns the lights on, "Now we're just gonna have to cuddle to stay warm."

"My favorite," I say quietly, taking his hand as we look around. There's two king sized beds, but I know we're going to push them together for snuggling reasons.

"So..." Harry drops our bags on the bedside, "I hear dinner starts at 6, and runs 'till 12. Do you wanna get a reservation, or bring food up?"

"Ugh," I groan dragging him towards our bed, "can't we just...do something?"

"Mmm," Harry grips my waist, tugging at my pants bottoms, "like what?"

"You know what," I whine, "please? We haven't done anything in a good long time and I just want to make my fiance happy..."

"You know what would make me happy?" he smiles teasingly. I look up at him and he leans into my lips, but when words leave I want to strangle him,

"Food. Let's go, shall we?"

He runs away, cackling and I sigh, smiling as I chase after him.
