what is an AV?
an AV is an artistic vision, aka the key to how my brain worked out the nitty gritty detail for this book. i do one for every book now, and this is the first one i'm publishing! i'm so excited and i hope you guys like it because so many things are revealed about the book and the upcoming sequel in this inside look within my brain.

NULLA: INTRO

welcome to the beginning of the end:
the creative train on this book was very... well... sexual. i'll be completely honest with you all and say that the basis of this story began because i was extra aroused the day i thought of it. and though witnessing harry and niall's sexual tension is fun, soon i got into the story more metaphorically, and things got crazy.

I: THE ONLY METAPHOR

the hotel room:
for those of you that haven't figured out yet, the title refers [hotel room 108] to the hotel room where harry and niall have sexual relations for the first time. but that hotel room has a lot of significance. i guess i should begin by saying this; one if the the themes of the story is secrecy. secrets and trust are a huge thing in this book. with corporate business owners and harry being the assistant ceo of marvel, crazy things are bound to happen with rich people.

from the beginning of the book, you can see that people are hiding things from day one [example: tiffany]. this book is purely based on secrets and lies and how they can destroy people and relationships single-handedly. in this novel, harry (essentially, the styles' family) has deep dark secrets buried beneath them. one by one, secrets keep getting uncovered and they're destroying the lives of harry and his family. meanwhile, poor niall is stuck in the middle of the pandemonium, being harry's boyfriend and technically his closest companion. not to mention, the horan family has it's own problems, with most of them centering on niall himself.

the hotel room symbolizes purity. the time in that hotel room is the only time that niall truthfully sees harry for who he really is. it was private, secluded, the only place that harry had no secrets to hide or pain to subdue, he just had niall.

niall had harry, and harry had niall. all that was enclosed with them in that room was each other in complete intensity. in the end, it's the only true piece of their relationship worth saving because though there will be bittersweet moments and endless loving, nothing will compare to the way they stripped down to the point where there was nothing for them to be ashamed of.

II: THEMES

the elites:
obviously there's one common theme in this book; rich people with so much money they don't know what to do with their lives. tiffany, an already filthy rich gold digger that dates not only niall, but many other men for their money. and then she spends practically over 10 million dollars on a destination wedding for a man she's only she's only dating for sex and money. it's sick, but niall and harry symbolize the idea that sometimes there's beauty hidden in the standards.

trust:
a recurring, terrifying problem between zouis and narry. niall and louis have both obviously been through a lot of hardships, some being extremely serious. harry and zayn kind of have to work their asses off to gain their trust, harry more than zayn. niall has this belief; and though it's crazy, i have it to. in fact, that's where it came from; me. in chapter 44, niall says that people don't just fall in love with him without a catch. this is kind of my downfall in real life. it's tedious, but i can't just, trust. i need to know every little detail of the relationship. there's no going with the flow, and i drew that from myself to insert into his character.

louis on the other hand, well abuse is definitely something i wanted to touch upon. this is real life i'm representing of course, and these things happen. stan abusing louis was something i never planned to put in because, well, i was afraid of writing it. no lie, i was afraid to insert abuse. but then one night i was sitting in my room planning for the book and i was like, 'well why the hell not?'. so i took a risk, and it's been paying off since i did. i like to introduce things that most people are too, i dunno, petty to mention in their writing? because it can't always be fluff, it's life we're talking about, not fairytale land.

but back to louis. something like what he went through doesn't exactly leave you unscarred. if i were him, i wouldn't trust anyone either. even in the story, i wouldn't have let zayn in as quickly as louis did. but i let it happen because not every character can agree with my or the mainstream beliefs. so, zayn and harry have their work cut out for them.

III: CHARACTER ANALYZATION

beforehand: for niall, harry, tiffany, louis, and zayn, the cast names i gave them have to do a lot with their characterizations. so if you haven't already, take a look at those in the cast on wattpad.

niall:
niall in this story is the face of 'crippling insecurities'. he grew up in a household that brought him down; and his father raped him. niall didn't have a very good childhood. after the event in 1999 he was haunted since then. other than his family, he was incapable of telling anyone until louis proved his true friendship to him by getting expelled in seventh grade for defending him in an extreme fight about their sexualities. his exact words before pummeling them were:

'you can punch me for being gay, but you'll have to kill me before i let you punch him.'

niall's trust towards louis is actually a huge aspect of this book. it shows how much harry has to live up to. nouis have been friends, no, brothers, for the longest time. harry kind of has somewhat of a competition to compare to. niall's not exactly the easiest person to get on with. but he doesn't let it phase him of course; he has his own standards he wishes to live up to.

throughout the book, niall gets drunk a few times and there are some significant differences in his personality (if you haven't seen them yet). when intoxicated, he's twenty times more confident. for example, in 'rich and reckless', he went from being antsy and nervous to sucking harry's dick in a bathroom stall. because of drinks. you can see it in the writing; it's almost as if niall's past never existed when he's drunk.

overall, niall could be considered a damsel in distress, but he doesn't want to be. he hates it, despises needing someone. needing someone hints weakness, and niall refuses to be weak.

harry:
harry didn't grow up with a tragic childhood like niall did. his mother had multiple partners, which meant he grew up with unsteady father figures. but that taught him what being a man really is. his stepfather that is the ceo of marvel studios is the only one (other than anne's current boyfriend) that is continuously in his life. the others, aren't really keeping in touch. part of the reason why harry is extremely protective over niall is because of what his fathers have shown him over time.

when things happened, those 'father figures' weren't there for his poor mother.

harry didn't want to be like them. he treats niall like a prince because that's what he feels is right. just like harry in real life, this harry is incapable of hurting anyone or anything. he is just the most down to earth, sweetest person in the entire universe. until someone messes with him, or the people he cares about of course. and (per usual) he can deliver a pretty intelligent roast. one example of this is in chapter 40, strike three, he remembers that if he gets fired, an employee of his choice gets to take his place.

harry is basically prince charming, with an exotic sex drive giving him his edge. he comes in, swooping niall off his feet and leaving him nostalgic, wanting more every time he leaves. it's incredible really, i love it even when i'm writing it. harry just gives niall that push that makes their relationship so beautiful.

louis:
louis had a tragic life in a whole. the fact that he hasn't attempted suicide (only a slight mention of it occurred) and is still perfectly normal is just one example of how mentally strong he is. he grew up in a strong home, with strong parents and even stronger siblings.

when he fell in love with stan, it was when all his boundaries fell. he was happy, and he trusted stan. louis is a prime example of why love consists of the idea of trust. stan broke his heart and he's still haunting him today. though, louis made a good choice by putting all his trust into his best friend. being that louis is only a side character, i'm gonna leave you guys with the idea of him as a noble, sassy, wonderful companion.

zayn & liam:

not much of zayn's past is mentioned in the book, as he's just not a very important side character (sadly), so this would be a good place to see what he's really all about. when he was 16, he came to america from the united kingdom and tried as hard he could to get into the fashion industry. when louis took him in and then got him a better job (due to the fact that louis hates dating co-workers), he helped zayn a whole lot and he just loved him ever more.

liam will have more of description in the artistic vision for search party, but honestly he's been niall's close buddy since he moved to new york city and went to the bakery every night after work (before he started working late hours).

tiffany:

i don't even want to say much about tiffany nor can i, honestly i hate her as much as you readers do. but, as all people do, she had a reason for the way she acted throughout the book. tiffany was raised in a rich part of los angeles, raised to reign and watch as others crawl in her footsteps.

when she was with niall, there was a sense of affection. but with dan, she loved him more. he looked past her promiscuous ways, and then tiffany found herself craving more attention than ever before. that's why when he left her on the wedding day (for unknown reasons until search party) she was devastated. tiffany is thirsty for attention, and there's no way around that.

IV: NEW YORK CITY

gossip girl:
well, the theme of secrets and lies and money was definitely inspired by gossip girl. also the location. yeah this was during my gossip girl phase in late 2014...i was drowning in that.

welcome to new york:
if you listen to taylor swift, you'll get this. new york is the place where dreams come true, the place basically calls for you whenever you have some kind of out of reach aspiration. when i listened to this song, i kind of got that feeling. so that was another factor of my choice of setting.

V: CHAPTER TITLES

the power of music:

personally, music is an enormous part of my life. i used to play piano and such, but it's not making the music that really caught me (not that i wouldn't go back to it), but it was more of the meaning behind every song i listen to. the story that each song tells is what draws me in so much. i personally love the writing process of the songs, and analyzing them.

all the songs on the playlist have some sort of relevance to at least one of the chapters. if you take a listen, you'll see where i get most of my titles and teeny tiny things within the novel.

VI: THE ORAL SEX NOUIS CHAPTER

human:

this was to throw in the aspect of being human. we all have that attraction to our best friend (i've even had it a couple times). but the thing is, (and i see this in a lot of fics), no one bothers to give the characters they're creating human temptations. if your best friend was louis tomlinson or niall horan, wouldn't you wanna screw your best friend?

and another thing; how many of you felt uncomfortable reading that, knowing that they both have boyfriends?

my goal of this book is to explore all feelings you could possibly feel during this book.

if you did feel discomfort, then good. because i write to make you feel.

VII: FOR SEARCH PARTY

the sequel:

for the sequel, there's a lot planned. honestly i wasn't even planning to have a sequel! but the support has been so overwhelming i had to give you guys more!

originally, i had planned to make this an adoption fic, because it's realistic. but due to popular demand, i figured i'd hold a vote (update: a vote and a re-vote) for mpreg. it was a huge ratio (still is) for pro-mpreg. so that's what the fic will be.

though male pregnancy is unrealistic to an extent, i'm taking the challenge to make it as realistic as possible for those of you who favor adoption. no pregnancies without medical reason or babies coming out of penises! everything is going to have a medical reasoning and process. luckily, i know enough biology to create a diagnosis reasonable enough to prove the theory of male pregnancies.

other things to look forward to? well:

- more zouis, for sure (many many separate zouis chapters and zayn and louis povs)
- more from harry's perspective
- a wedding/honeymoon
- less smut, more verbal and visible intimacy
- more interaction with liam

- some emotional points that will be touched during this challenge of niall and harry's relationship.

overall, i'm so psyched to start search party and though hotel room 108 has ended, i can't wait for the story to go on!
