Chapter 9

I felt my breath leave my body. It can’t be after all these years no God please wake me if this is a sick dream, a nightmare just please wake me.

“You fucking bitch, you left me for this. To be a whore and sleep around, yeah the new name Kinky says it all. You killed my baby so you could be a whore” He spat out and that last comment sent me into a tail spin as I lunged at him and slapped him hard. He wasn’t expecting it and after he regained himself he back handed me and I landed on the floor.

I heard Evan growl but Phil still had the gun pointed at Evan. “You hit her one more time and I swear I’ll kill you with my bare hands.” Evan tells Phil my ex husband.

“She’s nothing but a little bitch, a whore who left me.” Phil said.

“You stupid asshole, you hit me so bad you made me loss my baby. I left you because you killed our baby!” I yelled at him.

“No. no you killed our baby so you could leave me and be a whore. Look at you all painted up like a street walker. “He told me as he gestured to me with his free hand.

“I have been following you for a while now. Just waiting for the perfect moment to get you alone. But this stupid man has been all over you.  But today, today I am going to kill you. Because if I can’t have you no one will.” He said just as he pointed the gun at me and I heard the gun go off and felt the pain in my chest.

I felt myself fly backwards as he pain continued. Then I heard a scream and all the lights went out.

Sam’s POV

I took Raven with me and we drove out to a secluded place in the woods and I had my way with her again. “Do you think Kinky and Evan are making love like we are?” Raven asked me.

I laughed “Well it looked to me like Evan was ready to burst. So my bet is on my boy Evan. If anyone can tame that woman, it would be him.” We laughed and played and made love again. Then it was getting late so we headed back.

When we got there, I saw a strange care in the drive way. So I got my gun out and told raven to stay outside. Damn stubborn woman walked in with me. We made our way inside and we tried to be very quiet. Then we heard it, the noise was coming from inside Kinky’s room. Someone was there with them.

Just as we were entering the room, we say the guy aim the gun at Kinky and fire. But Evan jumped in front of her at the same time he pushed her out of the way sending her flying backwards and himself right in the path of the bullet meant for her. Raven screamed and the unknown gunman pointed at her so I had no choice but to fire. He had already shot Evan. No way in hell was I going to let him take out my Raven.

Bang right between the eyes. I ran to Evan just as raven ran to kinky. There was blood everywhere. “Raven call 911, tell them we have an officer down and a dead body” I tell her.

I checked his pulse and tried to see where the bullet had hit him. I then heard kinky regaining consciousness. “What happened? Am I dead?” she asked all confused.

“No Evan pushed you out of the way and too the bullet” I tell her s I tried to still find the wound under all that blood.

I heard her scream then crawl to us “Evan baby please don’t die!” She screamed “I love you, I really do love you and you can’t die on me! Please don’t die on me.” Kinky said as she sobbed.

Then the weirdest thing happened. Evan smiled but his eyes were still closed. Kinky has her head on his chest so she didn’t see “Evan I promise if you live I’ll marry you and we can have babies. We’ll have lots of babies and we’ll be so happy” She cried.

That was when he opened his eyes and winked at me, leavening me with my jaw dropped. “He raised his hand and put it on her head “You heard her Sam. She promised to marry me.” Evan said.

“Evan!” Kinky screamed as she jumped up and kissed his blood streaked face. “Oh Evan anything you want just don’t die.” She told him.

“Oh baby he got my shoulder, and I think the bullet went clean through.” Evan said, then he looked at me and I nodded yes. He knew then I had taken the guy out.

Kinky was still crying when the ambulance came and took them away. Because there was no way she was letting him out of her sight.

Later that night in bed Raven asked. “I don’t get it what the hell happened?”

“Well it seems your stalker came for you, but we will find out tomorrow what happened there. But the tiers got slashed here and back at your place. The one causing the problems was kinky’s ex. He finally tracked her down and if he could not have her he was going to kill her.” I told her finally piecing all the pieces together.

“Thank you for saving me.” She told me.

Kinky’s POV

When I thought I was shot, the only thing on my mind were the babies I would never have with evan. The life I would not let me dream about. But when I woke up and found out he had taken the bullet for me.

I could not lie to myself anymore. I loved him with all my heart. The kind of forever love I never felt for my ex. Even knowing what I was and what I did, Evan still loved me for me. How can you not love a man like that?

So here I sit in this fucking hard as chair because they are keeping him overnight for observation. He was right bullet went clean through his shoulder. I look over at him and sigh. I’m going to like waking up with him every morning.
