My eyes fluttered open as I tried to grasp what had visited me in my sleep.

It seemed too vivid and realistic to be considered a dream. Was that a memory?

I scanned the familiar scenery, the birds still chirping and my body still suffocating the growing plants beneath me.

The boy in my dreams lay beside me, his hand wrapped securely around my waist as he planted his cheek on the dry grass, surely that would leave a mark.

I scrunched my face as I tried to recall what exactly had happened, only bits and pieces coming to me, but one thing was for sure.

Raymond was in my dreams.

Slowly I poked him. "Wake up sleepyhead," I whispered in his ears. He didn't respond.

"Wake up," I poked him harder but still got no response.

Sighing out I retracted my hand, before giving him a harsh slap across his cheek. "Wake the hell up!"

He shot up instantly, "What the?" he massaged his cheek while giving me death glares. "What was that for?"

"Finally you're awake," I couldn't help but laugh at his affronted expression. The cheek that was planted on the grass had red marks on it, indicating that he was in that position for too long.

"I had a dream."

"So what?" he spat out, clearly still angry from being slapped abruptly, "Unless you're Martin Luther King Junior, I don't give a damn about your dream."

"Well you're gonna want to hear this one cause you were in it," I spoke harshly, annoyed at his remark.

"You dreamt about me?" he sounded suprised, probably not expecting me to say that, and he turned to give me his full attention.

"Yeah," I responded. It felt more than just a dream, it felt like a flashback. A memory.

"What happened?"

I searched my brain, but the bits and pieces I tried to recall earlier suddenly vanished, only an empty void left with a note saying that something indeed happened in my slumber.

Frowning, I looked up at him, "I can't remember."

He mirrored my expression, looking down at his hand on the grass and muttering something to himself before looking back at me. "Well, what do you remember?"

"It felt," I closed my eyes, the rush of it pounding on my forehead, "real."

My eyes opened to meet his intensive gaze, his eyes were filled with hope and I could basically feel the thoughts radiating off him.

"Debbie!" Came my brothers voice, interrupting my thoughts as well as Raymond's.

He examined my soccer attire, a smile coming to his lips, "I see you got the poster."

I ran to him giddily and jumped on top of him, sending us both toppling to the floor. "You douchebag!"

He laughed from under me, "Not the thank you I was expecting."

"Thank you," I punched his chest for good measure, "but you're still a douchebag."

"I'll take it," he punched me back on my shoulder, "Now get off me, you weigh a ton."

I stood up, but on second thought crashed back on top of him.

"What the hell was that for?" he wheezed out.

I shrugged, "Just felt like it."

He pushed me off him forcefully, making me roll on the grass for a few seconds, "Did you make the team?"

I stood up, nodding my head excitedly, "Coach Donovan was being a real dick but..." I trailed off.

How did I know his name? I frowned, trying to retrieve where I remember his name from.

Nate looked at me expectantly, "but?"

I shook my head, focusing on Nate, "But I handed it back to him."

"That's my sis," Nate gave me a high five. His arm came over my neck, dragging me down as he used his other hand to roughen up my ponytail.

"We need to go out and celebrate," Nate concluded, finally releasing me from his hold.

"We didn't bring our cars," I stated bluntly, though the idea of going out seemed appealing to me.

"That's why Uber was invented dimwit," Nate pulled out his phone, scrolling through his apps until he found the one he was looking for.

"Who in the hell put the muffins in the freezer?!" Someone bellowed from inside the boys hostel.

Nate paused what he was doing, him and Raymond sharing a look, before they bawled over in laughter.

"Dude why do you do this all the time?" Raymond choked out.

"I just-" Nathan couldn't even finish that sentence, laughing all over again.

Since when were they friends?

They're laughter was cut short when a burly man banged open the door, his beady eyes sending glares at Nathan.

"Inside. Now."

Nathan cracked a smile before turning to us, "Make sure she has a good time."

He then left to his hostel, but on second thought decided to run into the school building, screaming, "You'll never catch me Steve."

Steve, who I'm guessing is the man at the front of the hostel door, took his challenge, chasing after Nate as they both disappeared into the school premises.

I turned to Raymond, confusion spreading all over my face, "What was that all about?"

"Don't worry about that." He shrugged it off. "Just get changed, we're going out."

"Are we even allowed to?"

"No." His eyes held that mischievous glint. "But when did that ever stop anybody?"

I left to my hostel, already excited about leaving this hellhole, but Raymond made it clear that we needed to be sneaky.

I made it to my room undetected. Taking a quick shower before scavenging my clothes for something decent to wear.

After coming up with nothing, I decided to just wear a blue crop top with high waisted jeans, switching my soccer boots for black trainers.

Now comes the hard part, sneaking past the matrons assistant. She was passed out on the couch in the common room.

Deciding my best method was to get down on all fours, I crawled swiftly past her and towards the door.

"Where are you going?"

I flinched at being found out, only to turn and see Nicole staring at me assertively.

"Um...out?"

"Okay," she shrugged and went back inside.

I wiped the imaginary sweat off my forehead and blew out a little puff, "Phew."

"You ready?" his voice came from behind me.

I quickly closed the door and turned to him, taking a quick glance at his attire.

He wore a black t shirt, that hugged his body like a second skin, adorning a black and blue striped flannel shirt on top. On his shoes were casual sneakers and I noticed a silver chain peeking out of his t shirt.

"You look nice," I commented, hands in the pocket of my jeans.

"Wish I could say the same," he whistled out, examining me from head to toe. "I think I preferred you in a sports bra."

"You dickhead!" I punched his shoulder and he laughed out.

"I'm just joking Debbie," his eyes held that playful glint, before he looked at me with a serious expression.

"You look beautiful."

Not knowing how to respond to that I punched him again, "Where are we going?"

"It's a-"

"I swear if you say it's a surprise I'll kick you were the sun doesn't shine."

He eyed me, contemplating whether I was serious or not before he sighed out, "We're going to an amusement park."

"Why?" I questioned, "so we can kiss on the ferris wheel?"

He looked shocked at that, coughing out profusely. I laughed at his reaction. "I don't want to go to an amusement park."

"Too bad," he started walking to the parking lot.

"Hey!" I ran to catch up with him, "since it's my celebration shouldn't I get a say in it?"

He stopped, causing me to collide with his back, then he turned around swiftly holding me upright to prevent me from falling.

"True." Once I was steady on my feet he let go. "Where do you wanna go?"

My hand stroked my chin in thought, unconsciously nimbly on the side of my bottom lip. I felt his gaze briefly shift to my lips before they switched back, clearing his throat and waiting for my answer.

Suddenly it hit me, so I hit him. "Let's go to an arcade!"

"An arcade?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yunno, the place with games and prizes and stuff."

"I know what an arcade is." He looked at his phone before speaking, "but why do you want to go there?"

"Cause it's fun!" I beamed at the idea. "Plus there's no kissing!"

He smirked, "We'll see about that."

"You better not try anything," I warned him, placing my index finger to stop any vial words from escaping his lips.

"When is the Uber getting here?" Not waiting for his answer, I took his phone, checking the app to see that it'll arrive here in five minutes.

That's when I felt something wet glide up my finger. "Ew! What the hell is wrong with you?"

I hastily wiped his saliva off.

"That's what you get for taking my phone without my permission." He grabbed the phone from my hand.

"Ugh!" After realizing I rubbed his germs on my jeans, I quickly tried to tried to scrape it off and put it on his t shirt.

"It doesn't work like that Debs," he said with an eye roll.

I hissed at him and he just laughed. Finally the Uber arrived and in an act of chivalry, he opened the car door for me.

"I can do that myself thank you very much," I said, grudgingly getting in the car.

He got in after me, looking all excited as he asked, "You ready for our date?"

Date?!

"It's not a date," I stated, but my nerves started wracking at the idea.
