Marlene is a gal who doesn't give a shit about other people. She is rather rude, stubborn and a tad rebellious. She is very inattentive and hates having to listen to whatever somebody says. Her native mother tongue a.k.a language is sarcasm, no joke. You'd always see her rolling her eyes down at the idiots or shaking her head in disappointment at them. Almost every time the girl is in a grumpy and bad mood. It is because of this that she is considered a pessimist. Despite her attitude, Marlene is also an extremely hardworking individual, though she can be laidback whenever she acts like it. She's also very creative, resourceful and clever, even throwing a few witty remarks here and there. Marlene even possesses a wild and carefree soul, sometimes acting like an extrovert and partying like there's no tomorrow. Yet despite her sarcastic façade, Marlene is a scaredy cat. She gets intimidated by others (especially 'BRIGHT GLITTER LIPSTICK' and 'BOW DOWN PEASANTS!' ) easily, thus it's a good thing that she's excellent at hiding her emotions. Though she can be a little bit impulsive and opinionated at times, Marlene becomes unusually quiet whenever the so called true royals of the school have entered the room she's around in.

|| Backstory ||

Surprisingly, Marlene had an average backstory. She grew up with two older sisters and her two lovely parents, all of whom are very supportive of her and all of whom have a secret. Her older sister, a.k.a her middle sister, Kelly Hartsingh, was her fun, flirtatious sister who is a very popular playgirl. She would often urge Marlene to start dating instead of studying but did it work? No. Kelly's secret is that she keeps on sleeping and acts like she's interested in guys (hetero) when she's actually bisexual, and Marlene's pretty sure that Kelly's slept with at least two gals by now.

Her eldest sister, Evangeline, to who she's much closer too, is sort of the edgy person of the family. She normally keeps her distance away from the entire Hartsingh family, including Marlene. Though as distant as she seems, Marlene loves her to bits as she is just like her in some ways, including the time where the two nearly burnt the house down once. Evangeline's secret is that she had accidentally put her neighbour in a comma. How? Few words: drunk night, Evangeline was drunk and she drove, ended up crashing into her neighbour's car and thus putting him into a comma. Thank goodness that Evangeline somehow made it out okay, as most people thought it was the other way around where the neighbour was drunk instead of Evangeline, who was too scared to admit the truth.

Now there's her father, to who Marlene in a way is somewhat and somehow sort of close to. He is a very humorous guy and even though she acts like she hates him, she really doesn't. He is her father after all. His secret is that he has murdered many people before out of justice, but were they all out of justice? Who knows.

Finally and last but not least is her mother. Marlene loves, loves, loves her mother. She is closest to her rather than all of her family members combined (oops?). As her ambition as a doctor, she has taught Marlene a few healer tricks up of her sleeves, hence how Marlene knows how to heal people very well physically. Her mother's secret is that she has a blood fetish.

Overall, Marlene has an extremely peculiar family but no matter, she loves them all.

Frankly, Marlene hates it. First of all, why would she like going to a school full of idiots? Second, why do her thoughts about the school matter much anyways? The only reason as to why she is there is because A) she got a scholarship, B) because it's good for her and C) because her parents threatened her. There, 'nough said.
