Hospitality.

The members had been asked by one of their bosses to let a family friend stay at their house. The members couldn't help but be a little bit annoyed.
"Why is it always us? Why do we always have to let people stay over?" Jimin asked.
"You have the biggest house and most room, and you guys are the best at hospitality. It's just for a few days," their boss replied.
The members rolled their eyes.
"Well what's in it for us if we let him stay at our house?" Hobi asked.
"How about the entire week off?" their boss replied. The members were shocked at that and immediately started laughing and saying how this family friend could stay with them any time if it meant they got time off. They gave in and told their boss yes.
When the man arrived at their house, he had packed light, with just a suitcase. He introduced himself as Shi-Lin, but said they could all just call him Shin. He was a little bit older than Jin.
"Jin and Shin..hahaha," Taehyung had laughed. Jin gave Taehyung a playful nudge, "Stop it, will you?"
Jin wouldn't admit he also found it kind of funny.
Jungkook and Hobi took it upon themselves to show Shin around and get him acquainted to the place. They showed him the guest room he'd be staying in and the members all warmed up to him quickly.
Shin seemed like a very nice man. He was well put together, groomed nicely, he had a certain charm to him that nobody could quite point out. Part of him seemed mysterious, and Yoongi thought that was really cool.
Shin seemed to take an immediate liking to Jungkook the most. Nobody thought anything of it, they all knew Jungkook's maknae status made him someone everyone couldn't help but coddle and want to hang out with. Even the hyungs were guilty of it.
The first ounce of concern over just how much Shin was starting to admire Jungkook had first arose in Jimin. Jimin couldn't help but notice maybe the man was being a little too touchy with the youngest. Whenever one of the hyungs would hug or kiss the maknae playfully, Shin would too. Jungkook figured it was all in good fun, but Jimin thought it was plain weird.
Shin doesn't even know Jungkook.
He didn't want to seem paranoid, so Jimin decided he'd keep his concerns to himself, but he'd keep an eye on the man. It was hard for him to trust anyone, and if Jimin experienced even an ounce of distrust in a person, that meant no trust at all.
While most were getting started on dinner, Jungkook was taking a shower. Shin insisted he had to pee and couldn't hold it.
"Well you have to wait for Kookie to get out of the bathroom first," Yoongi replied, not even paying attention as he put plates on the table.
"I can't hold it," Shin had said.
"I could give you a water bottle to pee in," Hobi chuckled. "He won't be too long he takes quick showers."
Without reply, Shin had snuck towards the bathroom. Jimin saw him leaving and quietly followed behind him. He watched as Shin tried turning the door handle to the bathroom and like always, the maknae had left it unlocked. Shin started to slowly push the door open as the sound of the shower rushed out into the hallway.
"You were told to wait," Jimin spoke up before Shin could open the door more.
"But it's open," Shin replied flatly. Jimin grabbed the handle and gently pulled the door closed again.
"It will be open, when he's done." Jimin scowled at Shin. Between the members themselves, there was never any privacy. Doors were left unlocked, clothes weren't always on, sometimes they even showered together to save time. That was normal. But Shin wasn't one of them, Shin didn't know them, and Jimin felt like the man had absolutely no regard for Jungkook's privacy and that bothered him. "You can pee outside if you really can't wait."
Shin and Jimin stood glaring at eachother and hadn't noticed the water turn off. Jungkook opened the bathroom door with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Oh, did you guys need something?" Jungkook was somewhat startled by the two standing right outside the door when he opened it. Jimin looked at Shin and saw the way he checked out Jungkook and smirked. Jimin immediately grabbed Jungkook's arm and pushed him towards his bedroom, "Go put some clothes on." Jungkook shrugged and headed on his way.
Jimin pointed his finger in Shin's face. "Whatever you're thinking about, end it. Now."
Shin put his hands up in surrender, "I wasn't thinking anything." He walked past Jimin back towards the kitchen.
"I thought you had to pee?" Jimin crossed his arms. Shin stopped, half turned, and smirked, "I guess I didn't have to go as badly as I thought. Weird."
It was at that moment Jimin realized something was very wrong with Shin, and the anger that had been bubbling below the surface was starting to rise up. He was not going to let that man do anything to Jungkook. The man is a creep.
Once everyone had gathered for dinner, Shin had grabbed a seat next to Jungkook before anyone else could. Yoongi pouted, he wanted to sit next to the maknae that night but he didn't say anything. As everyone laughed and joked around, Jimin sat glaring angrily at Shin. He watched his every move. He noticed every time the man placed his hand on Jungkook's back, or would grab his arm, or would lean in too close. Shin would pour Jungkook's drinks for him, grab food for him, creepily stare at him when he wasn't paying attention.
"Earth to Jimin!" Namjoon yelled, throwing a bread roll at him. Jimin flinched, "Huh?"
"I've called your name like four times. Are you okay? You seem off," Namjoon asked. Jimin said he wasn't very hungry, but he was alright. Just thinking about work related things. He immediately went back to angrily glaring at Shin, and for a moment they made brief eye contact. Shin lifted a glass as if to say cheers, and then smiled. Making Jimin even more angry.
After dinner, Jimin asked if he could talk to Jungkook alone. They headed into Jungkook's room and Jimin locked the door behind them.
"What's wrong?" Jungkook asked nervously. It wasn't often someone wanted to speak with him alone and he always immediately assumed the worst.
"I need you to be careful," Jimin said in a hushed voice.
"What?" Jungkook asked confused.
Jimin didn't beat around the bush. "Shin is a pervert, and he's eyeing you. Please be careful."
Jungkook started laughing, he thought Jimin's allegation was random and way out of line.
"I'm serious!" Jimin pouted. He told him why he felt that way and Jungkook said he honestly hadn't even noticed Shin being so touchy. He was just so used to his hyungs being the same way he really thought nothing of it.
"Just...while he's staying here, please don't be alone with him or anything, okay?" Jimin asked.
"I think you're just being paranoid. I understand you're protective around strangers and that's great, but not everyone is evil." Jungkook placed his hand on Jimin's shoulder and squeezed it. He went to leave the room but Jimin blocked him. "I don't trust him, Kookie. And you shouldn't either."
"Okay," Jungkook answered halfheartedly. Whatever you say, hyung!
He immediately went back out and Jimin stood there hoping Jungkook listened to at least half of what he had said.
The rest of the night remained uneventful. Namjoon read in the living room, ignoring the sound of the TV while the others watched a movie. Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin were building lego sets on the floor. Shin mentioned getting up to grab a drink and Jungkook asked him to grab one for him too.
"Absolutely," Shin smiled. He left and returned with two cups of juice. Jimin tried to hide his panic but what could he really say about Shin simply grabbing Jungkook a drink from their own fridge?
After finishing his drink, Shin stood up. "I just remembered I have to go out to the store, Jungkook would you like to join me?"
"No, he can't!" Jimin said in a panic. All of them turned to Jimin and the singer paused while searching for an excuse, "He...he has to help us finish this lego set."
Jungkook pouted, he liked being helpful. He turned to Jin, "Hyung can I go with him?"
Jin looked to Jimin and didn't understand it, but saw the panic in his face as Jimin shook his head and whispered a desperate, "No."
Jin turned to Jungkook, "No, it's late. I can go," Jin offered to Shin.
"I'll just go tomorrow," Shin said. "I'm going to bed."
Jimin felt a wave of relief flood over him as Shin left the room.
"What the hell was that about?" Jin asked Jimin. Jimin knew he needed to express his concerns and he needed to do it now before something bad happened. He started talking a mile a minute about how he didn't trust Shin and all the reasons why.
"Like I already told Kookie, the man is a creep. He's a pervert. I know it," Jimin pouted. Although Jungkook still wasn't entirely convinced, the rest of the members surprisingly took Jimin's concerns to heart and said they'd keep an eye on him.
"So you're all paranoid?" Jungkook asked.
"I think protective is a better term," Taehyung crossed his arms, "And if Jiminie doesn't trust someone then neither do I, and neither should you."
Jungkook rolled his eyes. The members told Jungkook to be vigilant and careful, and all the same things Jimin already told him. Simple things like making sure he always had clothes on, locking the bathroom door, etc. Jimin felt like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders knowing he wasn't the only one carrying this worry anymore. Jungkook could be a lot more protected if all of the hyungs were in it together.
Everyone except Namjoon decided to go to bed. Namjoon wanted to read some more. Jin told Jungkook to sleep with his door locked.
Namjoon was lost in his book until he heard Jungkook walk in behind him, and he was crying. Namjoon immediately dropped his book and ran to him. He could instantly tell something was wrong. Jungkook could barely stand up on his own, only staying stable by holding onto the wall, and he could barely open his eyes.
"Oh no, what happened? Are you okay? What's wrong?" Namjoon asked concerned. Jungkook threw himself at Namjoon to be held. "I-I don't feel good. I really don't feel good hyung. I've never felt sick like this and I'm scared."
"Okay, you're okay," Namjoon helped Jungkook to the couch and lay him down.
"What doesn't feel good?" Namjoon asked as he felt Jungkook's forehead. The boy was burning up with a fever.
"Everything. Everything doesn't feel good," Jungkook cried. He curled up into a ball and clutched his sotmach. Jungkook had woken up feeling all kinds of weird and he didn't know what was wrong, and it scared the hell out of him. He felt like he was dying. His head was spinning, so was the entire room. His body felt like it had burst into flames and his eyelids felt as heavy as bricks. He had stumbled his way to Namjoon because not only was Namjoon awake, but Jungkook trusted Namjoon to figure out what to do because he was a genius, and he felt like he needed that.
"Do you think it was something you ate?" Namjoon asked curiously.
"We all ate the same thing," Jungkook pouted. Namjoon nodded. That is true.
Shin made his way in. "What's wrong?"
Namjoon was surprised to see Shin had woken back up. "He's not feeling well," he replied. Forgetting every warning from the others, Namjoon was desperate to do anything to alleviate Jungkook's pain. The first step was to help the boy get his shirt off because he was drowning in his own sweat. Shin watched and offered to take the shirt to the laundry room.
"Thanks," Namjoon said. Jungkook gripped his head in pain. His brain was ready to explode and Namjoon's voice was sounding like an echo. Namjoon told Jungkook he'd be right back while he went to the bathroom to look for medicine. Flu medicine, headache medicine, vertigo medicine, just anything for his poor maknae.
While Namjoon had walked out, Shin had re-entered. He sat next to Jungkook and rubbed his chest gently, staring at his body. Jungkook was so out of it he didn't even know who was sitting next to him. He figured it was Namjoon. He forgot his hyung had even left the room. Shin started moving his hand from Jungkook's chest to down his stomach, to down his leg.
Jungkook felt confused as he couldn't open his eyes but he realized it didn't feel like Namjoon's hand. Huh?
But thankfully, he heard his leaders voice again.
"What..are you doing?" Namjoon asked. He walked in and saw Shin running his fingers down Jungkook's body.
"Just trying to help him feel better," Shin replied. Namjoon gave him a questioning look as he made his way back to his maknae. He had found some vertigo pills. He realized he wanted Shin away from his youngest. "Can you please go get him some water?" Namjoon asked.
"Sure," Shin got up and made his way to the kitchen.
"What was that?" Taehyung's voice came out of nowhere as he now stood in the doorway. Namjoon and Shin both looked at Taehyung confused.
Taehyung had woken up to go to the bathroom when he had heard them all talking in the living room. He walked towards Shin. "I heard Joonie-hyung ask you to get Jungkookie a drink, and I saw you put something in his cup."
"I didn't put anything in his cup," Shin held up the water in the glass cup, showing that there was nothing in it.
"It must have dissolved but I know I saw you drop something in his cup. It looked like a pill," Taehyung said sadly. "Why did you just put a pill in my maknae's cup?"
"I didn't," Shin protested. Everyone looked towards Jungkook when he started groaning and crying louder. He could make out some of their conversation, as out of it as he was. Pill. Cup. Maknae. He remembered feeling ..Shin's.. hand caressing his body and he completely freaked out and started to panic. He realized maybe his hyungs were right and he couldn't even express his fear, he couldn't express anything. All he could do was lay there in defeat and hope and pray that his hyungs didn't let this man hurt him. Please don't let him near me.
"Dump the cup, then," Taehyung said aggressively. He walked over and grabbed a new cup and filled it with water and brought it to Jungkook. "Where did his shirt go?"
"The laundry.." Namjoon replied but as soon as he said it, he had doubts. He looked at Shin, "At least...that's where it's supposed to be."
Taehyung told Namjoon not to move as he ran to the laundry room to look for Jungkook's shirt. He didn't know why but once he couldn't find it, his first instinct was to check Shin's stuff. And there he found his maknae's clothes, balled up in Shin's luggage. And he found more articles of clothing than just the youngests shirt. He grabbed it all and walked out into the living room holding it balled in his fist.
"Get the hell out!" Taehyung screamed. "What the hell do you think you're trying to do here?! Jimin was right! You are a fuckin pervert! Get the hell out, and leave our Jungkookie the hell alone!"
Jungkook curled up under the blanket Namjoon had tossed on top of him and let himself cry. He wasn't sure what Taehyung was screaming about, but hearing his hyung screaming made him sad and more scared. He at least was coherent enough to know something was wrong, it involved Shin, and it involved himself.
The others came running out after they'd woken up to Taehyung screaming.
"What's going on?" Yoongi groaned. They were all shocked to see all three of their members in tears.
"This pervert needs to go!" Taehyung screamed through his crying. Jimin immediately ran to Jungkook. "What's wrong? What happened? Kookie? Bunny? Are you okay?" He placed his hand on Jungkook's face and felt the heat radiating off of him. The youngest wasn't replying, just sobbing with his eyes closed.
"What the hell is wrong with him?" Jimin asked concerned.
"He's..he got sick...I don't know how.." Namjoon cried. They all turned to Shin who hadn't spoken.
"Have you done something to him?" Hobi asked angrily. "To make him sick?"
"I didn't do anything," Shin protested.
"Don't believe a word he says! I just saw him put a pill in Kookie's drink!" Taehyung screamed.
Jimin realized it quickly. "The drink. Before bed. He was the only one to get maknae a drink before he went to bed. And now he's sick?"
The anger exploded inside Jimin as he ran at Shin and shoved him hard into the counter, "Did you drug him then too?! Huh?! Did you?! 'Cause you sure were pretty damn quick to try to get him to leave alone with you after that!"
Jin's heart sank as he realized he was so, so damn grateful for Jimin's instinct. If Jimin hadn't shook his head no to Jin when Jungkook asked to leave, Jin just might have let him leave.
Shin started screaming profanities at all of them, calling them liars, among many other derogatory names.
"You had his clothes in your suitcase!" Taehyung screamed in disgust. "You need to get out! You're not welcome to stay here!"
Unfortunately, in an ideal world, the hyungs would have called the cops but they had no physical evidence of Shin being a creep, only their word for it, which they knew would never be enough.
Hobi and Yoongi ran to the guest room and grabbed Shin's stuff, throwing it together. They ran back and threw his suitcase at him.
"Out! Now!" Yoongi screamed.
"In the middle of the night?!" Shin screamed back, "Over false accusations?!"
"Yup!" Hobi screamed and opened the door, "So leave!"
Shin spit more profanities at them as they all surrounded him and shoved him out the door, closing and locking it.
"I knew it! I knew it!" Jimin threw his arms up as he ran back to Jungkook to check on him. The maknae had at some point completely passed out amidst the fighting.
"Will he be okay?" Hobi asked, crying.
"If Shin drugged him it will wear off by morning, he'll just feel like shit," Namjoon replied. They surrounded the youngest on the couch while crying. They felt terrible that their maknae had been in danger, but at the same time they couldn't stop praising Jimin for somehow knowing quickly that something wasn't right about the guy.
Namjoon picked Jungkook up and carried him to his bed and tucked him in. "He won't remember any of this when he wakes up." Namjoon thought whether to tell Jungkook everything that happened, or spare the creepy stuff, like how Shin tried to steal his clothes, drug him more, and was caught touching him. Namjoon's heart sank when he realized it was best he told Jungkook the truth.
And the next morning, when he did tell Jungkook the truth, the maknae threw up in the trash can. He felt violated and disgusted, but Namjoon made sure he knew nothing more had happened to him.
Jungkook went over and hugged Jimin tightly. "Thank you. For knowing, I mean. Even though I didn't believe you. Thank you for knowing and saying something."
Jimin squeezed his maknae tightly. "That's what your hyungs are for."
Although he still had a headache and stomachache, Jungkook was feeling quite better. Everyone decided they were still rattled with anxiety so they were going to spend the day inside just hanging out and making sure Jungkook wasn't too distraught. He seemed alright, given the situation. He was so incredibly grateful to have hyungs who were so protective. Whether paranoid or protective, I love them for always keeping me safe.
While everyone was cuddled up watching TV together, Yoongi was browsing through channels when he'd skipped past a news station. Hobi could have sworn he heard the name Shi-Lin on it.
"Wait wait wait, go back," Hobi asked of Yoongi. He went back to the news channel.
They were covering a story of a man who'd been caught trying to kidnap a guy in his early 20's and lead him to a hotel room earlier that morning. The man had been caught, and after being caught, his home was searched. He lived pretty far from Seoul.
"Upon searching the home police found what appeared to be remains of male human bodies stuffed underneath the floorboards. Many of the bodies seem to have been phsycially and sexually assaulted," the newscaster said.
"Hobi hyungie why are we watching this," Taehyung pouted. He didn't care for gross disgusting news.
"Wait, shh..." Hobi said, keeping his eyes glued to the TV.
A mug shot popped up on the screen. A mug shot of a man that was very familiar.
A mug shot of a man, the man, named Shi-Lin.
"Oh..oh my god," Namjoon said. Everyone froze.
Jungkook immediately burst into anxiety filled tears. "That...was going to be me."
The rest of the members started crying too. Oh how their hearts hurt. Taehyung grabbed Jungkook into a tight, tear filled hug and planted kisses all over his head. The rest of the hyungs joined Taehyung.
"That was going to be me," Jungkook repeated. He was so scared. Sure, Shi-Lin was caught, but that didn't help. Jungkook felt even more disgusting and terrified knowing they had all been so close to an apparent perverted serial killer, and he was definetly supposed to be the next victim on the list.
"But it wasnt't you. That's what you have to remember," Yoongi said affectionately. "And he was caught. So it will never be you."
Jungkook looked up and stared at Jimin. Jimin ran his hand down Jungkook's cheek, "Especially not with hyungs around."
All of the members turned and once again thanked Jimin for everything he did to protect Jungkook from being hurt.
"Not everyone is evil," Jimin said, thinking back to what Jungkook had told him, "But we all must be aware that some people....some people are."
[The End]
