Regular person's idea of being sanitary:

Wash hands after using bathroom,
Wash hands before every meal,
Take a shower every morning,
Always wear clean clothes,
Always wash hands when dirty,
Etc.

Equestrian's idea of being sanitary:

Wipe the mud/dust/horse snot/drool on your jacket before eating.

Regular person's idea of keeping their animals sanitary:

Brush every so often,
Bring to groomer of fur gets too long

Equestrian's idea of keeping their animals sanitary:

Brush till arms hurt,
Continue,
Continue once again after horse rolls,
Bathe,
Bathe again after horse rolls,
Polish hooves,
Comb mane and tail,
Do it again,
Condition main and tail,
...........
Repeat all of the above after horse rolls
