I hold my hand still as I heard someone's feet crunching in the snow.

I looked up and smiled.

"Hello Paps." I unhook my hand from my eye for him, since I know he hates it.

Something was off though... beside his sharp jagged teeth.

He had this unhappy look on his face. Which was hard to pull off for him and even harder to see.

But I know my brother and he was distressed.

"Somethin' botherin' ya?" I asked.

"IT'S THE HUMAN... THEY SEEM TO HAVE... RUN AWAY BROTHER." He fumbled with his gloves

"Oh Paps don't worry about it. I'm sure we'll find her" I straightened and stowed my axe under the bar.

"NYEH, REALLY?" He smiled he looked like an excited puppy now.

I smiled and nodded "After all she couldn't have gone far." I smiled softly and stood.

"YOU SURE BROTHER? I DO NOT DOUBT OUR MASTERFUL SKILLS OF FINDING HER, BUT SHE HAS A BIG TENDENCY TO GET IN TROUBLE AND LOST!" He cocked his head slightly as I walked over and locked my station.

"You came to me for help yes? Then help you shall receive. Besides she couldn't have gone too far." She can probably reset anyway if she dies...

I fixed my posture.

"And it's technically work anyhow!" I shrugged off his worried look. He sighed, we both needed to find her.

Before someone else does first.

After all, she only has one freebie left better not let her waste it.

I looked at Paps, he's leading the way, he somehow got taller and I stayed the same height over the years... but I can't say I didn't go through my own peculiar changes, so I'm not as useless anymore am I?

"Wouldn't dream of it Paps." I smiled and teleported, sharp wispy rays of red light flashed, and here I was, at the exit of Snowdin.

The small tug of magic on my SOUL left as I started to walk around.

"Aliza, it's not very nice to run from the hand that feeds you. You were safe with us." I hummed. "It's like shooting the messenger, there's no point."

A thick wet sound sloshing and flowing caught my attention.

I looked behind me and nothing, I frowned. I'm not an idiot I know when I'm being followed or watched... and this event has gone down plenty of times, and the frequency of it has been increasing.

A small glow here, a little noise there, hell a shadow even, but nothing is there when I turn around... I dock it up to my starved mind getting in my head.

The big hole in my skull doesn't help my sansity either, and I've had my fair share of hallucinations and nightmares to know that this is just probably one of them.

Small quick footsteps crunching the snow behind me and I turn around.

"There you are you little stray!" I smiled at Aliza, she had been here a almost year and she still didn't seem to be getting any better in the meat department.

But she was taller, I'll give her that.

"Ready to go back?"

"What? Why do you even want me back? I can see how much you detest me!" She hissed. She was one to talk, she hates me as much as I hate her.

"Nah I don't detest you I simply have the urge to rip your head off." I smiled and strode over. She stepped back. It's a joke! Not really—

"That's the same thing! And I like my head thank you!" She hid her neck with her boney little hands.

"Yes I can see that you're very attached, but it's time to go home."

"I don't want to go back with you! I'm tired of hiding! And that's not my home! My home is up there with HUMANS!"

"Not anymore, you accepted my brother's heart. You deal with your decision." I glared getting a little irritated as I walked over and she just kept moving away. I don't know why... but I was offended... why did her saying that anger me so much—

Sans focus!

"I DON'T WANT HIS STUPID HEART—" I grabbed her SOUL she yelped and screamed.

"Don't say that, you made your decision whether you like it or not! And you will live out the consequences of that decision every day of your pathetic little life! Now let's go home! Papyrus is waiting for you and he is worried sick." I dropped her SOUL and grabbed her wrist.

Aliza shrieked angrily and punched me in the face.

I felt my face exploded with sharp stings as I fell back with the force of her blow, she slipped from my grasp.

I saw stars in my vision and little black specks dance across my gaze.

I couldn't let her go!

I threw up some bones as I reached for her and missed.

I face planted the snow and growled as she ran away.

And saw the shadow once again as if to taunt me... and just ignored it.

I should have just brought my axe...
