Chronoa - 1
Two beings noticed the sudden arrival in Conton City, and even with her busy schedule, she stopped to see what had happened. The Supreme Kai of Time, Chronoa, left the Time Nest and entered the busy city.
Time Patrollers were flying and riding vehicles all around, racing from one place to another. The business of the city only became more hectic as the Time Breakers, Mira and Towa, reemerged. The original hero of Toki Toki City was hard at work, but it was too much for even him to handle.
As such, Chronoa was attempting to find a new Time Patroller she could trust to give the difficult missions that no one else could handle. But no matter how hard she tried to look, she couldn't find such a person.
Chronoa sighed, her tiny shoulders drooping. "What are we going to do?"
Coming up from the large staircase, Elder Kai's eyebrows rose. "Supreme Kai of Time, I'm surprised to see you out of the Time Nest. I can only assume there's been a good development, if you've found time to come out?"
Chronoa gave Elder Kai a look before turning her attention to the Parallel Quest section of Conton City.
It was suddenly a very popular section of the city, with many Time Patrollers honing their skills against fragments of distorted history. Most of the Time Patrollers wished they could be the one to be chosen to work alongside Chronoa, but none of them had the skill to compare to the legendary hero of Toki Toki city.
"Well, I suppose that's what happens when someone is summoned by Shenron. If only we could re-use that wish, this would be easy," Chronoa sighed to herself. She turned her attention to Elder Kai, who stopped next to her side, "I think our choice is in there, somewhere. I don't know when they'll be ready, but when they are, it'll all change for the better."
Elder Kai let out a gentle scoff. "Of course, our choice is there, somewhere. However, we'll need them to be ready soon, or else we'll be quickly running head-first into our doom, and everything will be following us."
Chronoa waved her hand. "Just keep an eye out, for any promising Patrollers."
After the Elder Kai reluctantly agreed, Chronoa returned to her work, endlessly watching out for any rifts in time. She would never think if she wanted it or not, rather that she simply needed to.
She could only wish for a hero to appear.
She could only wish for her hero to appear.
She could only wish.
-----
Time was a relentless, cruel thing to watch and maintain. Whether it was the victory of a hero, or the victory of a villain, it simply had to be watched, and kept.
The death of Bardock and the Saiyans had to be watched. Future Gohan's last stand against the devilish androids had to be watched. Vegeta's sacrifice against Majin Buu had to be watched.
The Supreme Kai of Time would not be worn down by time, millions of years had passed, and she still was not worn down by time. However, there were times when she thought: "What if?"
What if I was human? What if I could spend my time on things like... romance?
What if I—
"Supreme Kai!" Trunks barged into the Time Nest, nearly causing Chronoa to leap from her skin. He ran up to her, his eyes shimmering. "Have you seen him?!"
"Trunks, I've told you not to barge in here. If I lose another Time Scroll, I promise I'll—" Chronoa growled, but she suddenly stopped when the legendary hero of Toki Toki City walked in silently, behind Trunks. "Hero?"
Hero, the legendary hero of Toki Toki City, was a silent man, a Saiyan summoned by Shenron when Conton City was known as Toki Toki City. He was almost never in the city, running from one quest to another working right under Chronoa herself. His appearance proved to the Supreme Kai how important the current situation was.
"What is it, Trunks? What's happened?" Chronoa asked, wrapping up a Time Scroll and putting it back where it belonged, before the appearance of Cell, and after the fight with Mecha Frieza.
Trunks took a second to breathe, recollecting himself. "Elder Kai found him! Elder Kai found the Time Patroller that'll help us defeat Towa and Mira once and for all!"
Chronoa typically would've doubted Trunks' enthusiasm, it was in her nature. History had plenty of fighters with incredible potential, but they would often squander it, and as such, would never accomplish what they could.
But when Hero nodded, well, she couldn't just ignore it. If Hero was agreeing with Trunks and Elder Kai, perhaps there was some merit to their claims. A little bit of hope entered Chronoa's heart.
The Supreme Kai of Time made a face. "W-Well, then I'll trust your judgement. I don't need to see him. If you all approve, then I'll allow him to join our mission. I need to get back to observing the Time Scrolls, in case any other distortions appear."
Trunks let out a slow, awkward laugh. "See, the Patroller's one request was to meet you... in person."
Chronoa just stared. "He wanted to meet me. That was this amazing Patroller's one desire?" Sighing, she raised her hands. "Fine, fine. If that's his one request, then I'll grant it. However, if he isn't the absolute best Patroller right next to you two, I'm putting you guys into more work than ever."
Hero bowed his head lightly, and Trunks nodded. "You won't regret this, I promise!"
Following the two partners, Chronoa pondered about what kind of person the Patroller would be. She knew she had fans in Conton City, but due to her rather shut-in nature as of lately, she hadn't shown her face often to encourage productivity. Was this man just some super fan that pushed past his limits to meet his idol?
Well, while it wasn't exactly an impossibility, it didn't seem very likely.
Maybe thinking about what he could do was more effective. Was he so eye-catching to Trunks because he could fight?
That wasn't exactly a rare trait to have, but maybe he could fight on the level of Goku, or even Beerus? Now that would be quite the enigma.
The Supreme Kai of Time didn't spent much more time thinking about who the interesting man could be, because she found herself face to face with him. And she found herself quite dumbfounded.
"You're the Patroller?" Chronoa said blankly.
Elder Kai made a face, understanding Chronoa's initial impressions. Trunks laughed nervously once more, while Hero just let out a silent breath.
The Patroller in question was a young man. His aura was somewhat unique, but beyond that, nothing about him seemed extraordinary. He had no scars, nor incredibly unique hair. He was a humanoid race, certainly a human, a Saiyan, or some combination of the two.
He was just... a guy. He wasn't incredibly built, at least, not obviously. He wasn't unleashing incredible power, and Chronoa was pretty sure she hadn't ever seen him before.
Suddenly, something clicked.
"You're... the sudden arrival, aren't you?" She held back on saying that she expected something more extraordinary, choosing her words carefully. She looked the man up and down. "You wanted to meet me?"
The young man nodded, grinning. "Yes, my name is (Y/n). Supreme Kai of Time, after I take care of the Time Breakers, would you like to go on a date?"
"H-Huh?!" Elder Kai gasped.
"W-What?! Is that why you wanted to meet her?!" Trunks stumbled.
"Hm," Hero hummed.
After, Chronoa felt herself simply, halting. The concept was just... foreign to her. When encountering such a thing, Chronoa's brain went on autopilot, and she trusted in the history that she watched over so many times.
She was suspicious of (Y/n), first and foremost. "How can you possibly be so confident that you can take care of the Time Breakers?"
(Y/n) snapped, making a finger-gun and propping his chin up on it. "I can be confident because I'm me. Trunks, you can attest to my strength, right?"
Trunks nodded hollowly, unsure how to respond otherwise.
Chronoa's next question was one she saw often but couldn't help but replicating. "But... why me?"
(Y/n) waved his hand easily, "Because you're gorgeous, and I want to know more about you."
Chronoa's pink face reddened, and a warmth spread over her face. Her shift in demeanor wasn't horribly noticeable, but the sudden, genuine compliment on her appearance successfully caught her off-guard.
Chronoa was not blind to lechery and perversion. Elder Kai was literally the oldest pervert in Universe 7, and she worked rather closely with him. So, she was quite stunned when (Y/n)'s words were genuine, and innately warm.
She may've been literally 75,001,000 years old, the last time she thought to check her birthday, but she was completely inexperienced in romance. She turned on her heel, suddenly beginning to walk away, attempting to keep her blush hidden.
"Take down the Time Breakers first, and then we'll see just how good you are!"
Chronoa stumbled back into the Time Nest, leaving (Y/n) with a stunned Elder Kai, confused Trunks, and silently amused Hero.
"What kind of person can he possibly be? There's no way he'll actually defeat the Time Breakers, just like that. I just...." Chronoa sighed, shaking her head, and getting back to her work.
But no matter how hard she tried, (Y/n)'s dumb yet warm grin stuck in her head.
