Lucas's POV
It was all over the news.
Maya was about to commit suicide. I rushed over to her apartment building. There were police cars, ambulances, and firemen.
They were clearing everyone of the area.
But I ignored them.
Maya seemed like she was about to jump,off the building.
I ran up there.
"Maya! Dont jump!" I said.
"Why not? I thought you wanted me dead!" she mocked my voice.
"Maya I'm sorry. I didn't mean it."
"I can't believe you! I thought we were friends! Best friends actually."
"No Maya listen."
"No. Now leave me alone so I can jump."
"Maya dont do this!"
"Why? Why do you even care?!"
"Because.."
"Because is not an answer!
"Because..."
"You know what? I dont even care! And I dont think you do either! Why do you even need me? I thought you loved her! You have ever since 7th grade. In fact everybody does! You love Riley. Farkle loves Riley. The whole class loves Riley and so does the whole world! And I'm just her useless best friend!"
"No your not! and i dont love Riley! "
"How? I-"
"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU! AND I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH TO LET YOU KILL YOURSELF!!! YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME! I NEVER EVEN LIKED RILEY! I JUST PRETENDED TO BECAUSE SHE THREATENED YOU!"
She stopped and turned around.
"You love me?"
"Yes! more than myself."
She stepped back from the edge.
She ran towards me and hugged me. I hugged her back tightly.
And I never let go.
