"It's a mystery..." Akane muttered. "... A mysterious mystery, isn't it!?" Came a familiar voice...A familiar deceased voice...
"Kyah!" Sonia screamed.
"Kyaaaah!" Monomi screamed, only louder.
There stood Monomi, alive and well. Your face lit up and you clapped your hands together in glee. "Monomi-Chan!"
"Wh-why are you here!?" Mahiru stuttered out.
"I heard everyone talking while I was patrolling, so I came over..." Monomi answered.
"No, not that... didn't Monokuma kill you?" Ibuki laughed out nervously, pressing her fingers together as sweat beaded down her face.
"Ah, so that's why you were surprised?" Monomi laughed. "Don't worry I can never die!"
Gundham crossed his arms and smirked. "I see... You must be an undead abomination, risen from the Netherworld by black magic... Haha! Do you want me to make you my thrall?"
"No Gundham! Monomi's a mechanical stuffed animal! Doesn't that mean she can't die in the first place?" You pointed out, going into deep thought. You soon rubbing the back of your neck and nervously laughed. "I'm guessing..."
"Now that you mention it...she's only like a spare or something." Kazuichi agreed.
"'A spare?' What a mean thing to say..." Monomi sobbed.
"However, you have arrived at the perfect time. There's something I wanted to ask you about." Byakuya spoke towards Monomi. "What is the meaning behind this timer? Answer me..."
"Huh? Timer..." Monomi tilted her head clueslessly. Once that was said she caught sight of the massive object behind the group of students. Monomi screamed. "Ha-wa-wa! What is this! Um... I'm..sorry..I.. don't know anything about this."
"You really don't know, Monomi?" Chiaki asked.
"Umm.. No I'm sorry but we can work together an-"
"If you don't know about the timer then get lost." Byakuya sighed.
Monomi suggested "B-but we ca-"
"I said get lost!" Byakuya's stern voice scared Monomi off.
"Byakuya! Maybe you were a bit too harsh. Poor Monomi... I feel bad for her." You frowned.
Miss (y/n)! May I call Miss (y/n)? No, I insist on calling you that!" Kazuichi yelled, pointing directly at you. "There's no need to feel sorry for that thing. She's obviously working with Monokuma."
"However, that's not ask that's unimaginable... This island is full of mysteries we can't begin to imagine...For example, why were the 17 of us brought here?"
Kazuichi ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. "I wasn't trying to think about that, since it's been bugging me too, but he's right."
"That's not all..." You start gaining everyone's attention. "Continuing from that day on the beach, what Byakuya had to say... I'm guessing you were going to say something like, 'why is Jabberwock Island, which Is known for being popular resort destination, now and uninhabited island? Hm?"
Byakuya growled silently. "Exactly. There's no sign of tourists or even citizens on this island...is something like that even possible?"
"All civilization are destined to collapse... nothing begets existence, as and existence begets nothing." Gundham spoke in his confusing 'dark Lord' gibberish.
Mikan panicked. "So it collapsed!?"
"Maybe the monobeasts killed everyone on the island." Hiyoko chuckled.
"That's a possibility, but...we don't knew that for sure." Byakuya mumbled. "This also remains a mystery."
"Its just mysteries on top of mysteries!" Ibuki whined.
Byakuya nodded. "That's true. However, since these mysteries are overlapping with one another, I doubt some no name group is behind this..."
"What are you trying to say?" Haijime asked nervously.
"I mean... this situation we're in is undeniably the work of some enormous organization." Byakuya suggested, sounding rather confident in his theory. "That organization might be controlling these machine and monitoring the island with those cameras..."
"Could those fiends be hiding on this island?" Peko asked.
"Not likely. They're probably running this from somewhere else. Somewhere safe." Byakuya answered. He then went into deep thought, clicking his fingers. "There's my Togami Corporation, Sonia's Novoselic Kingdom and The Kuzuryu Clan. It would definitely have to be an organization as powerful as one of these group, if not more so..." Byakuya glanced at your smiling face. "Maybe (y/n)'s Orion Conglomerate..."
"Huh?" Sonia gasped.
"Oh, I see." You cocked your head to the side. "So that's why you're so... You know? Though... I wonder how you know of that? I mean... after all they're only step-family."
Byakuya scoffed quietly. You only glared at him, wondering what does he know about you.
"Hey, Byakuya... we're you serious about all this being related to those families and such?" Haijime asked the blond hair male.
Byakuya turned to Haijime grumbling. "I'm just using then as an example. I'm not saying they have anything to do with this."
"But your certain we're up against a huge organization. Why would they make us go through this" Peko wondered.
"Hmm. Our enemy's purpose is still unknown... as long as we find out who's behind this, we'll learn their purpose. So what we must do now is find out who our enemy is. If we do that we're much closer to a breakthrough." Byakuya told everyone.
You smiled brightly, popping up in front of Byakuya and Haijime. "Luckily, were free to explore this island as much as please. I mean, there's gotta be a clue to our real enemy on this island somewhere. Let's start looking!"
"All right! Let's get this crap done!" Akane eagerly punched the Palm of her hand .
"No problem. No matter how large this organization may be, they will not be able to stand against us." Gundham nodded his head, the smallest smile on his lips. "They are destined to fail and turn to ash at the might of my Four Dark Devas of Destruction!"
Your eyes lit up at the hamsters that came out of Gundham scarf. "Ah, your hamsters are so cool! I didn't realise they hid in your scarf!"
"Cool..You say..?" Gundham flinched, eyes widened. He covered the lower half of his face with his scarf, his whole face turning bright red. "...Th-thank you."
"You're pretty happy about that, huh?" Ibuki leaned in closer to Gundham and grinned.
"Look at this guy doing stupid things in front of Miss (y/n)... I'm definitely going to beat the crap out of him later..." Kazuichi growled, tightly clenching his fists.
"Exactly. We don't have time to worry about something foolish as killing. I want everyone to search anywhere they can, that is your leader's order understand?" Byakuya explained.
You raised your arms and cheered. "That's like totally awesome!"
Hiyoko copied. "That right hand of his is so plump. I've got the perfect nickname for him; Ham Hands!"
"H-ham hands...You say...?" Byakuya eyes widened in disgust. He crossed his arms and sighed. "Hmph... I never thought I'd see a day where someone would call me that... fine."
Soon everyone began to split up but in the end no one found any clues, and went back to the hotel.
You decided to pay a visit to the beach to look around some more. You gazed at the ocean with a serious visage, going into deep thought about everything that had happened up till now.
"Hey...(y/n) are you feeling okay?"
Turning around you caught sight of Nagito, worry evident on his face.
"I'm fine!" You chirped.
"If you say so." He stood there quietly for a moment then sighed. "When you were talking with Haijime earlier you seemed upset. Why?"
"Oh that..." You paused for a while. "Its nothing important..." Your tone died down.
"I won't leave unless you tell me."
"Fine. He asked me something about hope and I was having a breakdown. With a past like yours why do you hold hope over your head? You questioned him.
"M-my past how do you know about it..." Nagito said shock.
"I don't but I can guess your past isn't good, so why have hope?"
'You're pretty amazing' He mumbled quietly to himself. "I have so much hope in everyone because I believe we'll get through this together." He smiled at you. "Plus you have to smile at hope in the name of despair."
"Just stop already." You shook your head from side to side. "If I have even a single speck of hope, despair will destroy it again. I don't want that to happen again."
Haijime walked over to the both of you.
"(Y/n) hope is the only thing that can save you from despair." Nagito said sadly.
"In the end it won't save you, it'll leave you behind when you need it the most." You began to get furious. "They had they're chance to save me, but they didn't."
"W-what do you mean (y/n)?" Haijime questioned.
"I mean having hope destroyed my life so I chose to depend on despair." You raised your head at them. Your eyes were watering up.
They both were silent, until Nagito went up to you, and hugged you. Hopping you'd get calmed down.
"I'm sorry you feel like that. No one deserves to be left behind by anyone. I know how you fee (Y/n), and no matter what I'll be here for you." His voice was calming.
"I should go." You broke away from his hug, heading back to you cottage.
After you went to my cottage, the school bell went off and the monitor turned on.
Monokuma's face appeared, a cocktail in his hand as he made his announcement in his high-pitched voice. "Ahem! Hope's Peak Academy's School Trip Executive Committee has an announcement to make. Hello everyone! The fun time you've all been waiting for is about to begin! ...Oops don't want to ruin the surprise! It was a little 'meh' at first, but anyway but please gather at Jabberwock park!"
Then the screen switched off.
You let out a sigh and grinned to yourself. "What could that hideous bear possibly want this late at night? Well, whatever I'm about to figure it out. Even if we didn't want to go you had no choice, due to Monokuma's rules."
With confidence you left towards the park.
