"If we do the shutdown we revert back to our old selves before entering this world right?"
Hajime questioned the hope boy. "Yes you will but I pro-"
"I don't even exist anymore! I'm someone named Izuru Kamakura."
Hajime broke down as he stared into his palms. His painful cries brought joy to my soul.
I walked over and creased his face.
"I'm glad you get it now, you don't exist anymore as Hajime. You helped Junko and I with everything."
I smiled at him. "You and I are the masterminds behind it all in the real world. Which means no matter what we are going to be killed."
"That's not true." He looked at Mokoto but his gaze avoided Hajime.
"Think about it Hajime. Wouldn't it be best to listen to what Junko is telling us to do?"
I let him go and head back to my area. "Let's just forget Mokoto, he showed up late and made us kill our friends."
"She's right, I don't want to live as Izuru." Hajime fell to his knees.
"Yeah I don't want to live in a world without Peko."
Slowly everyone gave in. "Just graduate." Hajime whispered.
Then two others appeared and Junko groaned.
"What is going on Mokoto?" A nerd with glasses asked sternly.
"Byakuya they want to give up." Mokoto replied. "Have you not told them what may happen if they do?"
A girl with long hair said in a low voice. "I've been trying this entire time Kyoko. They are losing hope."
"Don't get in my fucking way now clowns." Junko shouted.
I just ignored them and spoke to my classmates.
"Hajime is we graduate then you will still be you. Everyone will be saved."
I smiled at the despairing boy. "Don't let them change that for you. Don't let Hajime Hinata disappear."
"You're right [Name]." Everyone placed their palm onto the graduate button.
"No wait!" Mokoto shouted. "What do you think you guys are doing." Byakuya asked annoyed.
"You guys want to kill us anyway right? So why would we listen to what you guys want us to do?"
I asked the three members. "Not everyone shares that same hope you want to spread."
I balled up my fist. "I was miserable until Junko saved me. Now you guys want us dead for doing what?"
I laughed. "Killing those who despised us because they were jealous?"
"No we aren't saying that at all." The girl said.
"Everything that happened here would become meaningless. Hajime would die and we would just be killed by you guys."
I turned to my classmates.
"Will you be able to endure such despair? Who are you going to endure it for?"
They stayed quiet. "For people we've never met before? For people who don't appreciate us?" I slammed my hands down.
"Does that sound like hope to you?"
"There is no reason to listen to her. Start the shutdown now." Byakuya shouted at them.
"Hold on!" Fuyuhiko shouts. "Why? Do you still not understand the consequences if Junko escapes into the real world?"
"No it's just that-" Fuyuhiko was interrupted. "Do you know how many victims that event has claimed?!"
He continued to shout. "Right now it has calmed down. That will begin again into a new era if she is released back into the real world."
Kyoko calm voice was a bit stern.
"So that's why you're telling them to start the shutdown sequence? To prevent that?" Junko asked.
"You're telling them to revert back into their old selves and to deal with the aftermath?"
"At this point this is the only way." Mokoto sounded defeated.
"This is all of your fault. Why are you making us choose. I can't choose."
Hajime says. "What you can't choose?" Mokoto questioned his statement.
"Why do I have to be apart of this? I'm different from the rest of you. I don't even have a talent."
He grabbed the podium. "Even so I got dragged into this. And now my existence is going to disappear."
I smiled. "And you want me to choose?!" Hajime broke down once again. He was losing it.
Everyone should be at his point by now.
"Hey [Name] you can put them at ease you know that right?" There was nothing but dark space around me.
"Why should I?" The white haired boy just smiled. "For hope. You can create a hope better than anyone."
I disagree with his statement. "I don't want to do that. Hope has only screwed me over. Despair never has."
He let out a heavy sigh. "You're going to be the only one stuck clinging to despair."
Nagito was right about that. I will always and forever cling onto despair.
I'll drag the world down into it. This world was cruel to me, so why can't I return that pain?
"Well it seems like it's too late for them to sink into despair, they found their hope."
I was confused. "What are you talking about?" "See you another time [Name]."
His smile never fell as I returned to the class trial. "I won't let anyone take my future away from me!" Hajime shouts.
"We need to decide our future for ourselves. Let's shut this game down!"
What? Where did his despair go? Why all of a sudden?
"No! We can't!" I yelled. "You want us to create something for ourselves?!"
He lost his damn mind if he believes we will be okay if we leave.
"All that pain and suffering we went through and you want to forget that?"
"We won't forget the tragedy that took place here. We will be able to create our own paths."
"So all we have to do is press these two buttons at the same time?" Sonia asked.
"Yeah I can't have Peko treating me like a dame kid if I don't leave here." Fuyuhiko chuckled.
Everyone else began to reach for hope.
"Why? How can you guys have that hope?! I don't want to go back to that hell!"
Without Junko what am I supposed to do?
"We are with you [Name]." "Fuck all of that! You guys haven't been with me since the beginning."
I watched my tears fall to the ground.
"You guys betrayed me just like before. Why do I try so hard with you all?!"
I slammed my head onto the podium.
"What would Nagito want you to choose? He'd want hope for you right?" Hajime asked.
"I don't give a damn what he wants from me. He should never held hope so close."
I wiped my face. "He died so all of you guys could shine and yet you called him a psychopath!"
I laughed. "But as long as you guys are happy who gives a damn right?"
"[Name] let's move forward together, please." Fuyuhiko frowned.
"Once I leave here I'll be alone. I don't trust anyone here. I won't leave Junko. She's my hope. I love her so much."
The tears did not stop. "You guys don't understand what I been through."
"That's why you need to stand up for yourself and create your own future." Her soft voice fluttered throughout my ears.
"Chiaki?" I turned around but no one was there. "I forgive you for everything you have done."
There's no reason too. "It was my choice to kill you just so they could be in despair as I am."
Everyone was confused but I focused on her voice. "Chiaki there's no reason to forgive me."
"We're friends, of course that's my reason." In that class she was the only friend I had.
"My future is different from theirs. I have to disappear. I'll lose everything again."
I could tell she was giving her usual small smile. "No you won't. You will gain a new life. Please do something to change it."
If I do the shutdown I have to live as Junko's muse. Maybe that's what she meant earlier.
"Okay Chiaki." She just smiled. "Have fun okay." I stared at Junko.
"I'm sorry Junko." "No not you [Name]." I wanted to tell her that it was going to be okay.
I will be the one to burn the world again. Despair will never be one with hope.
That's why we are in this situation.
"Please forgive me friend." I smiled at her. "Though I need to end this chapter to start a new one."
"[Name]! You can't do this to me! We were a team so why?!" She shouted.
It was the first time I really saw her be upset.
"Isn't this a despair you'd never thought you would feel?" I smiled at the blonde.
"Junko isn't this a beautiful memory for you. A betrayal no better than someone who was your friend."
"Y-You're right." She began to laugh. "This is an extremely good feeling, the best I ever had."
"Everyone ready?" Hajime asked.
We all pressed the buttons at the same time. The game world around us began to crash.
Junko if you can hear me I will continue the fight. They think they changed me over friendships and sunshine?
The world will know what absolute despair will feel like.
I watched the three future foundation people come over to me.
"We're watching you. So don't do anything." Byakuya stated.
"He means just be careful because the future foundation will have a close eye on you. I know you can understand."
Mokoto smiled was apologetic. I returned it with a fake one. "Yes of course. Thank you."
Mokoto, the ultimate hope. It will be a pleasure to bring someone like you into despair.
The three then leave and I watch the remaining students. They all stood in this circle giving in to such hope.
Wishing each other well and having a tearful goodbye. It made me sick.
"Are you guys going to be happy? I hope so." My bitter tone was the last thing I remember before waking up.
The sound of a ship and the shadow of someone standing over me alerted me.
"Hey, long time no see." The boy with white hair leaned in closer to me.
"Nagito." My smile could not stay hidden.
He pulls me up with his robotic arm. "Don't look too sad about it, I look cooler."
I glanced around and it seemed like we were on a boat, Jaberwock island was leaving our view.
"You were the last to wake up. Was it hard to leave." Nagito asked. I noticed it was only us in the area.
"Have Kazuichi built us a device almost like a phone so we can talk wherever we are."
He seemed confused. "If you truly love me you would follow my footsteps back into the world of despair."
"What are you thinking?" I grabbed his face and smiled. "Another killing spree through the world!"
The wind blew and the breeze felt wonderful.
"Are you with me Komadea?" He seemed a bit worried.
"Then we could find a true hope to outshine Mokoto." Though I didn't give a damn about that.
He smiled. "Your despair feeds my hope." He kissed my lips.
"I will be with you until I draw my last breath." His promise meant nothing to me.
Was it love that I felt for him? Or is it because he's easy to hold on a leash?
I chuckled. "Nagito don't regret that."
The future foundation should watch their backs.
[Full Name] the ultimate guesser and the ultimate despair will gladly make her presence be known.
I'll make you proud Junko.

After years of waiting the story is now complete. I want to thank everyone who stuck around and gave me support. I began this story my freshman year of high school and finished it while completing my masters degree.
I am aware it's not going to be to everyone's liking how things did and didn't go, but I wanted to make things easier and more enjoyable.
So I hope everyone enjoyed Hope Vs Despair! Please if you like my villain style stories check out my other books.
I do have another Danganronpa book but I'm not sure if people still enjoy Dangan as much as they did years ago.
I'll think about it. Again thank you for all the support throughout the years. Love you all very much! <3
