"If the killer was luring Hiyoko into a trap, then something that was used there might be a clue." Chiaki pondered.
Peko stated. "Do you mean the letter?"
"The gummy." I whispered, not meaning to say it out loud. "Yes (Y/n) the gummy is right." The gamer said.
The letters were forged by the killer. I could take a look at the letter and guess who wrote it. My thoughts were cut off by some juicy info.
"Hiyoko and (Y/n), when you guys were there was the gummy there?" Chiaki questioned us both.
"Now that I think about it, it wasn't." Hiyoko said. "No I don't remember seeing one." I answer her back.
"Just as I thought if the killer planted evidence while they weren't there it would've gotten thrown away."
"They planted it after they left the crime scene? Why go through all that trouble?" Nekomaru questioned.
My mind goes back to the event. "When I was there I heard a couple of noises but I didn't pay that much attention to it because I was finding Hiyoko. What if they hid in the beach house because after Hiyoko and I saw the murder, Monokuma's announcement went off."
"No there's no where to hid!" Hiyoko shouted.
"Is that really possible to hid that long? How would they know when to come out?" Kazuichi said.
I sighed. "In the closet there's a surfboard case, you could've hid in and the rules say when three people see a dead body then the announcement goes off. I was the third person."
They all seemed to be either confused or putting the pieces together. My gut was telling me Peko and Fuyuhiko but I couldn't say anything without more evidence. I continue to zone out as they spoke more on the idea.
They were near the beach house when I was. Honestly I could say anything and they'd believe me, all I have to say is that I'm guessing. I sighed.
"Flexibility huh?" Nagito was saying. I zoned out to much. "So what about this time? Is it three people including the killer or not?
He seemed to be talking to Monokuma.
"Fine! You want me to say it? It doesn't include the killer this time, okay? All done." He snapped.
"Which means three people other than the killer discovered Mahiru's body." Nagito stated.
"I told you guys." I begin to pout. "No one ever listens to me."
"What about the blood on the killer, we never figured that out." Gundham said.
"Maybe they wash it off, but they didn't use the shower." Chiaki stated.
"The water bottles that were in the fridge, there was many plastic bottles in the trash." Haijime said.
"There was only flavored drinks in the fridge, so that impossible since they'd be sticky and the blood would be hard to get off." Peko said.
"No! There were some in there but the killer used them all to was themselves off. They also came to the diner soaked. Right Chiaki?" Haijime continued.
"It seems you know who the killer is." Nagito called out Haijime. My eyes widened. "Before you say that could I see the letter?" I asked him.
Haijime hands me the letter and I look over it. I frowned. It was Peko's writing. "Ah (Y/n) you figured it out also!" I glanced at Nagito. "Yeah I did."
Everyone began to ask us who it was.
"Peko, is it you?" Haijime asked her in a soft tone. She was quite.
"Hey what are you being quite for they're accusing you of being the ki-" I cut her off.
"Shut up Hiyoko!" She pipes down. "Peko you did it for him. You did it because you love him."
"What are you talking about (Y/n)?" Chiaki asked me. "The game connects to those two, she did it to protect him." They still didn't know what I meant.
"Ignore her for now, back to Peko." Akane said.
If he's guy F and his sister is girl E, what's Peko to him. I thought to myself. The ultimate swordswomen and the ultimate yuakuze. This could be a stretch but maybe she has to protect him because of there positions. I pinch the bridge of my nose.
Peko killed Mahiru because Mahiru's friend killed Fuyuhiko's little sister. But why not have Fuyuhiko take care of it? Because the game would've brought to much suspicion onto him, so she took care of it for him.
Is Peko willing to die for him just like that? What does that feel like? I aggressively shake my head. Focus on why she did it, I didn't investigate so I won't be much help.
"(Y/n) why are you so quite?" Nagito asked me. I looked around everyone's conversations came to a halt.
"Fuyuhiko why did you let her do it? She had no connections to the game, so why?" I questioned him.
"You weren't paying attention (Y/n)? It was for justice, the masked had some motive towards it." Nekomaru informed me.
I shook my head. "Fuyuhiko answer me. She did it to protect you right? But that doesn't make sense, who'd go that far for love?"
I end up asking myself more than him. "Is that what you were thinking about this entire time? You missed a lot of information." Chiaki told me.
"I knew she was the killer from the start, but I don't understand why she did it. Why did he let her?"
"Does that matter?" Haijime asked me. I ignored him. "Justice? Girl E killed the girl from the beginning and Peko killed Mahiru for justice." I took a deep breathe. "It doesn't make sense."
"We found out who the killer was and we found out why she did it. Because of the stupid Sparkling Justice. Let's set the damn votes already." Hiyoko stated.
"Shut the hell up you stupid brat! No one is voting her off until I get an explanation. Killing because you love someone, to protect them doesn't bring despair! It only brings hope." I snapped.
"Let's go over the incident one more time and end this." Haijime demanded.
"The incident began this morning when Mahiru spoke to Hiyoko. Mahiru most likely played, 'Twilight Syndrome Murder Case,' she probably wanted to talk to someone who was in the game. So she choose Hiyoko,"
"The letters was used to drawn those two to the beach house at a certain time. When Hiyoko got there at 2pm the killer drugged her and knocked her unconscious and shoved her in the closet. Then it was Mahiru who arrived at 2:30pm and the killer killed her with a metal bat."
"With that the killer tampered with the crime scene. They dragged her dead body so it would block the door leading towards the road. They personality left the mask for a unknown reason. Next they needed to wash off the blood but because the showers weren't working, they had to use the water bottles as an alternative."
"However because of the no littering rule the had to dispose the bottles in the beach house trash can. After the blood was washed off them they hid in the surfboard case in the closet. Some time has passed and Hiyoko was found by (Y/n), but before (Y/n) could say anything to her she saw Mahiru's dead body and ran off."
"(Y/n)'s footprints were also found in the blood and sand as she went back to her cottage. The killer must've began to plant the remaining evidence on Hiyoko and then escaped out the window in the shower room with her bamboo sword and bag."
"And so the killer left the beach house and appeared before us as if nothing happened. But because there weren't any towels at the beach house they said they were swimming to use it as a cover up. So how about it? This is the truth Peko Pekoyama!?" Haijime finishes it off.
Peko begins to go on a wild tangent about how she punished her and she did nothing wrong. Then her rambles catches my attention.
"To protect what's important to you, you must be prepared to throw away something equally important." Peko stated.
His life is important to her, but why?
"-Will you make the dreadfully wrong choice or the right one?" Monokuma said joyfully.
Everyone but myself voted for Peko. I voted Fuyuhiko.
"Pardon me could we have a little more time to discuses something." Sonia begged. "Sonia she isn't Sparkling Justice."
I bluntly told her. "H-How did you know I would ask?" I stuck my tonged out. "I guessed it."
"Is that all? Okay itssss pun-" "Stop!" Everyone looks at me. "Not you again." Akane growled.
I stare Peko in her eyes, it shown defeat though there was no despair. "A tool." I mumbled. "You're not a tool for him Peko."
"T-Tool for him? What do you mean (Y/n)?" Mikan asked timidly.
"Of course I am." Peko responded.
"I see, I finally understand. Well I did have a sneaking suspicion this whole time." Nagito piped up. "It seems like you guessed it a while ago, great job (Y/n)."
"What do you mean?" Haijime questioned.
"Besides from who we know, someone else was at the beach house. (Y/n) was the last one to see the body, which caused the announcement to go off." Nagito stated.
"Fuyuhiko was the first one to see it, then Hiyoko, then me." I told everyone.
Peko stated. "I'm nothing but a tool, I have one duty and that's to be in use for that one person."
"And that one person is Fuyuhiko. You're Fuyuhiko's tool." I looked over at him. "Why did you do it Peko? It cant be for love, something like that isn't possible."
"What (Y/n) stated earlier, it was true." Chiaki said.
"The ulitimate yakuza and the ulitimate swordswomen. For a long time she has been serving under him and protecting him. That's why she thinks she the tool, but Peko you aren't the tool." I say to her.
"H-How do you know this?" Fuyuhiko questioned me. I smiled at him. "I'm the ulitimate guesser, what do you expect?"
"Fuyuhiko is the real killer, after all I'm just a tool following orders. It's all too late." Peko said out of nowhere.
"If she's telling the truth then our votes were wrong." Chiaki said.
"That means the only person who gets to live is-" Ibuki was cut of by Fuyuhiko. "Me."
Everyone began to panic and my heart was being filed with joy. I knew for a fact that she killed him but I couldn't ruin the despair.
"No matter how you look at it, Fuyuhiko is the killer." Peko said.
"I wish this fear would last forever!" I hug myself.
I watched as everyone began to debate who the killer was. We weren't at our stations anymore.
"(Y/n), you know who the killer is right?" Nagito whispered. I nod my head and he smiled. "Peko." I tell him back.
"Fuyuhiko was I right about you both?" I questioned him. "Yes, Peko and I grew up together. Her parents abandoned her and my clan took her in. She's a hitman that works under me."
"Which makes me his tool." She remained calm as others began to question her.
"But guys she's still the killer, she was ordered and she followed it." My tone completely sad. "I understand how she feels." I smiled perking back up.
"That is true, I killed her as ordered and tampered with the crime scene and you guys made the wrong choice." Peko chuckled.
"All but (Y/n), she's the only one who voted for Fuyuhiko despite saying she knew it was Peko. How strange." Monokuma piped in.
"Don't put me on blast, you stupid bear." I say annoyingly.
"I see so for Peko, Fuyuhiko himself is your true hope then? On his behalf, you killed her and now you want to sacrifice us to protect him." Nagito perks up. "You would only go that far because he's your one and only hope!"
Someone can be your one and only hope? 'You're the only kind of hope I don't want to share.'
Nagito, Chiaki and Haijime began to questions how he feels about everything. I go up to Fuyuhiko hold his hands and move in close to him.
"(Y/n) what are you doing?" Nagito asked, he sounded a bit upset.
"Fuyuhiko, you love her don't you. If you don't tell Peko now she'll die and you'll regret it."
I held back how good it would make me feel to know that he's in despair. "Just be honest with yourself for once."
"I-If I have to admit that you are only a tool to me then I will reject that." Fuyuhiko said quietly.
Monokuma then pops up and told us she is definitely the killer. "It's now or never Fuyuhiko." I told him.
"Peko I'm sorry I couldn't fulfill your request. Even though you did all that to provide me the chance to survive." He began.
"I knew it would turn out like this, you have a kind heart, despite being a yakuza. Even so I wanted you to escape, to protect you. I am terribly sorry I will not be able to serve you till the very end. Goodbye." Peko finished off.
A few of them began to cry. "Just so you know, I will never feel despair. As long as I'm a tool I am fully prepared to die." Peko told Monokuma.
"Ah but Peko, you aren't the one to be expected to feel despair, Fuyuhiko will have to carry that pain and guilt. Feeling despair because of a loved one might be the best feeling ever. I just haven't felt that kind yet."
"I never wanted a tool! I just wanted you! Only you! Why cant you understand? We been together since we were kids, so why?" Fuyuhiko yelled.
"Let's begin! It'sssss Punissssssshment Timeeee!" Monokuma yelled joyfully
"P-Please Peko! Don't go! I need you! Don't leave me!" Fuyuhiko was in tears as everyone watched in pain. My smile creped in, I was happy.
"Young Master?" Peko said through her tears as she was being dragged away for her execution.
Fuyuhiko was attempting to stop it from happening but only ended up getting his eye cut. Because he got hurt Peko went to check on him, causing her to be killed by the enemies.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" Kazuchi yelled.
"This shouldn't be allowed!" Ibuki was foaming from the mouth.
"Haha! The despair for love! What does that feel like?" I ran my hands through my tamed hair.
"For heaven's sake. This is just the worst, what a waste. This conclusion what a waste. This is why she should've discussed her plans with me. It was supposed to be a clash between two hopes, but it was crushed into something so unpalatable." Nagito spoke up.
"It was broken by despair." I turn to Nagito and grasped his hands. "Your hope was destroyed by despair once again." I smiled.
"The hell's wrong with you two!? Aren't you pissed that two of your friends are dead?" Akane angerly asked us.
Nagito spoke first. "I am pissed and I even feel sad and hopeless. But still, its going to be all right! This despair is worthless." He laughs. "Even this despair is just a ladder to a bright, shinning future that awaits us!"
"He's not even dead, but for you guys to think that I just couldn't help but keep that piece of information to myself. Peko on the other hand, I am happy she shown me a new despair, one I've never got the taste for."
"Yes Fuyuhiko is still alive." Monomi informed them. "I cant kill him off in this way, its a rule." Monokuma sounded disappointed.
Everyone but Nagito and I rushed out to him. I let go of his hands. However he grabs it back.
"I want you to experience that type of hope. I want to be the one who shows you it alone." His husky tone flown throughout my ears.
"Even though you're full of despair, let me replace that with hope (Y/n)."
My face was heated, no one was paying attention. "Why would I let a hope freak do that?" I questioned him.
He laughs. "Because you said I can do anything that could bring hope to you." Before I could say anything an ambulance came to pick up Fuyuhiko. Everyone came back but soon went our own ways.
Class trial over
