Chapter 75: Not That Easy 4-28-17

Aragorn: 17 years old

Aragorn was trying to control his breathing as best he could without having a panic attack from claustrophobia. Closing his eyes as he inched forward helped a lot. However, something that he could not help was the darkness of the tunnel and the humidity of it. He was dripping sweat.

Another couple of minutes passed and Aragorn opened his eyes. Up ahead, he saw a light! He was so close to getting free to breathe free air. He squirmed his way through the narrow space as he slithered as any snake would.

As he made his way through the last bit of stretch way, he reached his arms out and grasped the sides of the wall. Then he pulled himself out and breathed in heavy, greedy gulps of fresh air. He flopped onto his back, which probably wasn't the best idea since he hadn't got his full baring's yet. After about a minute of rest, Aragorn turned over again and looked around.

He looked around and took in what was around him. All around him in every direction were lots and lots of crystals everywhere. Everywhere! There were all types of shades and sizes of crystals. There were some rock walls and on the other side where many more crystals as he walked around.

So far, he hadn't seen any crystal that was spewing out any fog. Aragorn kept walking around awkwardly sensing that the task was not that easy. He felt as if he were being watched, but as he looked around he saw nobody, no movement. Only himself.

Soon Aragorn walked into a large room that was circular. The crystal in the center of the room was what caught his attention first. It was a large crystal about as tall as his waist and as wide as a door might be. Aragorn looked around the large room before entering making sure he was still alone. He wanted to get the job over with fast so that nothing wrong would happen.

He walked to the center of the room as he drew his sword. The only way he could think of destroying the crystal was by sword. Aragorn approached it and raised his sword above it. As he was about to bring the weapon down, he heard a loud growl from behind him.

Jumping, Aragorn spun around fast and saw the most hideous creature he thought he had ever seen in his life. It was as tall as a troll, and more hideous than any Orc Aragorn had encountered. It had one large eye that stuck out of its head like a nose would. Although, the creature had no nose, but it indeed had a giant mouth.

The creature screeched so loud that it made Aragorn's hair and clothes stick to his body as if a massive wind had blown. Aragorn was glued to the spot as he started up at the cyclopes looking thing before him. It had a large body and floppy stomach. The thing was only wearing a loin cloth and looking very much upset.

Aragorn immediately put up his hands in defense and said,

"Is this yours?" he gestured to the crystal.

The creature seemed as if it could not respond, so instead it made a face and screamed in Aragorn's face even more. It raised the spiked club that it was holding in its left hand and swung at Aragorn. The human saw the attack coming and ducked down to the floor.

The cyclopes creature leaned over and grabbed Aragorn by his feet. Aragorn kicked, but the creature only squeezed his toes making him scream. Aragorn swung his sword at the stomach of the creature and he hit him barely. The creature yelled on the top of his lungs. Aragorn was sure the whole Rivendell could hear the racket.

In an outrage, the beast swung its club again at Aragorn who was still dangling upsidown from his feet. Using all his stomach muscles Aragorn tugged himself upwards to miss being hit by the weapon. The creature screamed again and threw Aragorn to the ground hard.

He quickly got back up in a daze and swung at the creature once again from below. He ran underneath him and slid as he stabbed the beast clean in the back. Although it was a good idea, Aragorn's sword got stuck in the back of the cyclopes instinctively. Aragorn backup up before it could grab him again, but he tripped over a large crystal.

Aragorn forced his way back through the crystals using mostly his arms to pull him back and his legs to push off rocks and crystals. Eventually his back hit a wall and he stopped in a panic of being trapped in-between the creature and the wall. He stood fast and climbed the rock wall.

Once he was to the top, he jumped down and felt safe for a second as he gathered what his next move was. He wasn't safe for long however because the wall he felt safe behind suddenly crumpled on top of him. The creature had shattered the rock wall with his club and now all the rocks were falling on top of Aragorn.

As Aragorn was brushing the rocks off him, he realized he couldn't get up in time to not be grabbed by the creature again. Before the giant hand could reach Aragorn, out of the blue, an arrow shot through the room. The arrow sent straight and pierced the enormous beast in the chest.

It threw its enormous head back and Aragorn took his chance to stand and get away. As he did this, he looked around the room for the person how shot the arrow. They could be a possible friend or foe. Aragorn ran for the crystal that was spewing out fog once again. He raised his knife high and brought it down on the crystal.

He closed his eyes as a hundred small purple sparks flew off the jewel. Aragorn did it three more times before he heard the monster behind him gaining. He spun around yet again and another arrow came flying out of nowhere. It hit the beast in the stomach. Aragorn had a quick plan and he moved fast.

Aragorn ran straight for the creature and climbed up its front side using the arrows that had been shot in its large body. The beast was too busy screaming on the top of its lungs to even realize what Aragorn was doing. Once he got to the monster's head, Aragorn stood with his feet on the beast's shoulders and brought up his knife.

By the time the cyclops found out what Aragorn was doing, it was too late. Aragorn brought his sword up and down in one second. His blade sunk deep into the brain of the creature. The beast made one long droning out sound and then stumbled forward. Aragorn went with it trying to keep his balance, still standing on the shoulders.

Aragorn jumped down before the monster fell since he feared it would crush him if he did not. The human however assumed that the creature was dead as it fell to its knees. It was not. The cyclops made one last growl that echoed through the cave, and with one clean swipe of its club, swung.

The next instant, Aragorn felt a beating pain in his right arm and realized his mistake. The spiked club hit him full force making him soar across the room. He landed in the pile of rock rubble, but he had already fainted by that point. His head had hit the rocks just a tad bit too hard.

Out from the darkness stepped the person who had shot the arrow to the beast's chest and stomach moments ago. They watched the monster finally collapse to the ground in a pile of its own pooling blood and then looked towards the human laying still in a pile of rocks. The archer hadn't realized who it was during battle, but know they did.

"Estel?!" the person said as they ran to him.

If Aragorn were to be awake, he would have recognized the voice completely.

A/N: What are your guesses? Who is it going to be?! :D
