Chapter 63: Visitor 3-31-17

Aragorn: 17 years old

"What is going on?" the Elf commanded.

It was Legolas. Aragorn knew he would come.

"He started attacking me my Lord," the other Elf said and bowed to Legolas, "Out of nowhere,"

"That's a lie!" Aragorn shouted and stood up woozily, "He attacked me, Legolas!"

The original Elf looked sharply at Aragorn and said,

"Do you really think he is going to trust your word over mine? After all, you're the one who has been lying since you arrived,"

Aragorn bit his lip and got a sudden thought. He dashed to the banner on the wall. He knew there was something behind it and so he ripped it off the wall. Behind was a window that he was not expecting, but worked well with his plan of escape.

He took out his knife and smashed it into the window. It cracked and looked like a spider web had formed on the glass. Aragorn thrust his hand back again ready for another blow, but Legolas was behind him quick and grabbed his wrist to stop him.

"Let go off me!" Aragorn shouted as tears once again formed in his eyes, "I am done with this place!"

"You may leave," Legolas said to the other Elf in the room.

"Yes, my Lord," the Elf bowed, having a satisfying look at Aragorn, and left.

Aragorn was still trying to pull away from Legolas as he pounded his own fist on the glass. It wouldn't crack, not with his fist anyway. It was too thick to break through. He stopped as Legolas put a firm hand over Aragorn's stomach and lifted him off the ground. He kicked, but that did no good.

"Let me go!" Aragorn screamed out of fear and rage.

"Stop fighting, calm down!" Legolas said gently.

Aragorn screamed as Legolas not so nicely twisted his wrist back making the knife fall from his sore hand. Legolas dropped Aragorn onto the bed and Aragorn whirled around to meet Legolas's eyes. Aragorn was huffing and puffing and couldn't stop breathing hard.

As if that wasn't enough, Aragorn jumped off his bed and flew to the door. He tried opening it as he tugged on the knob, but it was locked. He pounded his fist against it and then sank to the ground in a ball terrified and hurt and he held his face in pain.

Legolas turned around and picked up Aragorn's knife. He slowly held it out to the human and he took it. He quickly tucked it around his waist and looked to Legolas trying to calm down. Aragorn took one long breath and closed his eyes.

"I am sorry," he murmured and crawled back to his bed slowly.

Aragorn felt Legolas sit on the bed and he let him.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Legolas asked quietly.

"I didn't attack anybody," was all Aragorn could say, "And I don't lie,"

"What is in your pants?"

"What?" Aragorn exclaimed.

"I felt something hard,"

"A book,"

"Can I see?" Legolas asked.

Aragorn opened his eyes and took the book out from around his waist. He held it out to Legolas and the prince took it.

"Gondor?" Legolas asked, "What interest do you have in Gondor?"

Aragorn shrugged, not sure why either.

"I found books in that closet," Aragorn pointed straight ahead, "But the other Elf got mad. I am sorry, I didn't know,"

Legolas handed the book back to Aragorn and said,

"I am sorry he did what he did, Elves just aren't too familiar to humans,"

"I understand," Aragorn said and trying to smile, but couldn't make himself.

"You should be back to bed now," Legolas said, "Dream good thoughts tonight and maybe, just maybe an Elf of yours will show up on our doorstep,"

"I hope," Aragorn murmured his voice sounding strange.

His nose was stuffy and his eyes wouldn't stop watering. He was very sick and getting worse and worse each day.

Whenever Aragorn was sick in Rivendell, Elrond would always take care of him gently and patiently. The thing that helped him the most was the scent of boiled Rosemary. A special herb the Elves grew just for Aragorn in Rivendell for every time the human got sick. Though Aragorn imagined that the Woodland Realm wouldn't have such a herb.

"Take care of your face," Legolas said finally after a while of silence.

Aragorn knew that wasn't such an easy task since there was blood everywhere and the Elf had never offered a cloth for cleaning it.

"Have a good night," Legolas said as he headed for the door again, "Posto vae," (rest well) he whispered and walked away leaving Aragorn to sleep.

-----

In the middle of the long night, Aragorn woke up to having a strange feeling in his stomach. It wasn't one of sickness, but of twisted and strange turns. As he woke up, he realized his whole left side of his face was stuck to the pillow. It was because the blood had dried there.

Aragorn quickly ripped his face off the pillow painfully and sat up and rubbed his eyes as he looked around the room he was in. Everything was the same, but he knew something was different. He could just sense it. His face was sore and felt stiff from the slash the night before.

He got out of bed and not bothering to even grab his shoes, he opened the door and went out. To his surprise, the door wasn't locked as it had been the night before. He had never wandered outside of the room before and knew if any Elf saw him they would get angry. Though something unique was happening and Aragorn was eager to find out what that something was.

It was then that he could hear the gentle taps of rain from outside hit the roof of the Woodland Realm. The sound and smell of rain was always one of Aragorn's favorites while growing up in Rivendell. He stayed focused on what was ahead of him.

To his surprise, he saw no Elves guarding any rooms as he walked through a hallway. He had no idea where he was or where he was going, but he kept on going down the hall. Aragorn passed many rooms and trees along the way, but not a single Elf.

As he turned the next corner he remembered where he was. He looked to the left and saw the throne of Thranduil. In fact, he saw the king. His vision swept to the left of the king and he saw Legolas and two Elven guards standing very still. On the other side of Thranduil, to the right, was...

Aragorn almost fainted on sight of the person he saw next to Thranduil and the other Elves. It was the one-person Aragorn had been waiting to see for over two weeks. It was Elrond.

A/N: Wow! Anybody expecting that!? :D
