Chapter 53: Catastrophic Trouble 2-23-17
Aragorn: 17 years old
It was Lagorion. He had run out into the middle of the circle and thrown himself, full force onto Greakth. Surprisingly, Greakth and Lagorion were both tumbling and rolling on the ground beside Aragorn. Lagorion had managed to push the Elf off Aragorn.
Aragorn heard most of the Elves screaming and as he looked around they were all running like mad people frantically. He saw Elrond, sword in hand running towards Greakth and Lagorion. The twins and Arwen had been given orders by Elrond to stay back where it was safe. They looked at Aragorn with their hands and arms gesturing for Aragorn to come to them.
Aragorn looked away from them knowing he had to help Lagorion. He looked to see what Tahl was doing and to his surprise, he had fled like the rest of the scared Elves. Elrond had reached Greakth and Lagorion and they were all up and their swords where swinging back and forth.
"Greakth, stop!" Elrond commanded as Greakth punched Lagorion in the stomach.
Greakth ignored Elrond, as he attacked Lagorion. Lagorion kicked Greakth in the knees hard and dodged Greakth's fast moves. He passed beneath his arm and managed to slash his back with his sword. Greakth screamed in rising anger and grabbed Lagorion with his free hand and through him to the ground.
Then he went back to fighting Elrond.
"Obey me, Greakth! Daro!" (stop!) Elrond shouted, "I am your king!"
Aragorn didn't know what to do since he was weaponless besides his small knife that he carried at his belt. He watched as Lagorion stood up and jumped on Greakth's back. Greakth kicked Elrond in the stomach making him step back some to regain his strength. In that moment, Greakth took a knife that hung from his belt and reached back.
"Lag, watch out!" Aragorn screamed seeing what was about to happen.
It was too late. Greakth's knife found Lagorion's skin and pierced deep into his side. He screamed and let go of Greakth as he fell on his back to the dirt ground. Lagorion whimpered on the ground as Aragorn rushed to his side, but Greakth was in the way and he couldn't.
"Estel!" Lagorion shouted weakly.
In the midst of the chaos, Aragorn turned to look at his wounded friend.
"Catch!" Lagorion shouted, holding up his sword.
He threw it and it flew through the air. Aragorn reached up and caught it in his right hand. Aragorn gave a quick nod to Lagorion and rushed to fight Greakth, from behind. He thought he might have a chance by surprising him from behind his opponent.
Elrond and Greakth were fighting still, but Greakth was getting more vicious and faster with his every move. He went so fast that even Elrond couldn't keep up. Greakth did a horizontal slice with his sword and cut open Elrond's high chest just below his neck. If it had hit him any higher, his throat would have been slit and he would be dead.
Greakth punched Elrond in the chest after and he fell over. Aragorn saw Arwen disobey Elrond's rule and she ran to her father. The twins tried grabbing at their sister, but she got away. They followed after Arwen to scared not to do anything.
"Go, Estel, now!" Lagorion murmured to Aragorn who was still frozen watching Greakth.
Aragorn gulped and faced Greakth as he turned around.
"Now, it's time to end you with no interference," Greakth snarled.
"No," Aragorn said bravely.
Greakth laughed out loud at the comment, but nobody but him thought it was funny.
"He's right!" Lagorion cried out.
"I don't think so. He was trained by you," Greakth argued looking to Lagorion who still lay on the ground holding his bleeding side.
Aragorn ran at Greakth and with Lagorion's sword in hand and hit him. Greakth stumbled back, but deflected the attempt by Aragorn with his own sword. They swung without harming each other for quite a while. When Greakth had been pushed over by Aragorn, Aragorn quickly took the Rosebottom out from his belt.
"Arwen!" Aragorn called out.
She looked up from Elrond, tears in her eyes. Aragorn held up the small bottle of the healer and then tossed it to Arwen. She caught it cleanly and immediately started uncorking the lid and putting it to Elrond's wounded skin.
Aragorn turned around and faced Greakth who had gotten up from his little stubble. Greakth lept upon Aragorn and they both went back. Aragorn landed on his back and in the process, flipping Greakth over him. His sword dropped and Greakth landed hard on his back a couple feet away from Aragorn. Aragorn got up quickly and sat on top of Greakth. Holding his sword to his throat, he whispered,
"Stop, now and I won't kill you,"
Greakth let out a small laugh and said,
"You wouldn't kill me!"
"Why not? After all you've done to me, I would," Aragorn argued.
"You wouldn't because you are too weak! Humans are weak,"
Aragorn was silent and thought about that. As much as he hated to agree with Greakth, he did. He could never ever kill an Elf. Even one that had pestered him all his life.
"Please, don't make this harder," Aragorn trailed off catching his breath still from the fight.
Before Greakth could argue back, out of nowhere an arrow flew and found its mark. Into Aragorn's chest.
A/N: Is everybody still enjoying this? Is there anything that I could do that would make it better?
