Jaidyn

"Jaidyn! Get over here! I'm going to the mall!" My older sister Ashlyn called. "Coming!" I called back, then looked at what I was wearing. No way am I going out in public like this. I thought as I looked in then mirror at my black Capri leggings and giant t shirt. I walked to my closet and put on a loose white and blue t shirt with some dark blue jean shorts that were extremely loose on my skinny legs, along with my adidas. I slapped on a black and grey baseball hat as well. I brushed my hair and walked downstairs to where Ash was standing. "Ready?" She asked. I nodded. "Lego!"

We walked outside. Ash glanced at mom's car but shrugged and started walking. It was pretty much silent except for the occasional *cough* or *throat clearing.* When we got there, Ash and I walked inside. She went into a Forever 21 and I followed because why not? Ash looked at dresses. "This is cute! Try it on!" She shoved a pink dress in my arms and I smirked. "Puh-Leeze. Me? Dress? Haha, you're funny." I shook my head and Ash looked me in the eye. "Cmon Jaidyn, you have to try girl clothes on sometimes! You can't always look like a boy!" I rolled my eyes playfully. "I don't look like a boy, I look like a cool girl. Which I am by the way, and if I dress like that I won't be!" Ash rolled her eyes. "Yah you will. Boys will actually like you!" I shook my head and laughed. "Boys don't like me anyways!" Ash shrugged. "They would if they knew you weren't one of them!" I shook my head and rolled my eyes playfully. Ash laughed.

"Ok, I got these, imma try them on and then we can go," Ash said, holding up several girly dresses, and I nodded. I followed her to the dressing room, picking up a pair of black jean shorts on my way. "I'm trying these on," I said casually and walked into a dressing room. The shorts fit so I handed them to Ash. "These?!" She looked surprised as she held up the shorts I had picked out. "Duh. Black. Shorts. You can't go wrong can you?" I asked. She laughed. "You just went wrong! But if you want them I guess you can get them!" I laughed. "Thanks." She nodded and put the clothes on the counter. The lady scanned them and Ash paid before we walked out of the store.

"Well, that's all the shopping I needed! Need anything else?" Ash asked me. "Nah I'm good!" I smiled. We stopped at a light, where there were many other people waiting for the light to turn green for pedestrians, and through the wide open window of a store I heard my favorite song, Apple Bottom Jeans by Flo Rida. Ash looked at me. "You love this song huh? Do hip hop!" She urged. I shook my head. "Not in public Ashlyn are you crazy?!" I widened my eyes. "Nope I'm not crazy, just do it! What do you have to lose?" I shrugged. "Fine!" I said and handed her my baseball hat to hold.

I started to do some hip hop moves, slow at first but then I moved into the more advanced levels as I became more comfortable. People cleared around me and watched me dance. Ash put my baseball hat down and I started to get tips. I did a backhand spring, earning tons of applause. I did some more advanced moves before the pedestrian light turned green and people started to leave. I stopped dancing and Ash gave me a high five. I picked up my hat. "Wow, we have like...10 bucks and a choker necklace!" Ash grabbed the necklace. "This was my idea and this will be my pay check." She joked. I laughed and we walked across the street and then back home.
