Book Two

(Alex)
I wandered around, not used to the extreme darkness surrounding me. Richard and Johnathan were ahead of me, both of them in their monster forms. It had only been half an hour, and I was already missing Otis. I let my head hang down, my raven-black hair blocking my vision. Closing my green eyes, I let out a sigh, stopping my walking. Richard and Johnathan stopped, looking back at me. "You okay Alex?," Johnathan asked me, sounding concerned. I nod, responding, "I'm fine dad, I just miss Otis." "You mean that human boy?," he said, not sounding too happy. "Alex, he's a human, you're a Wendigo."

"I'm only half Wendigo," I growl, slowly opening my eyes to stare at the forest floor. "And I want to be no Wendigo." Johnathan placed his clawed hand on my shoulder, saying, "Look, I know you don't like being different, but we're going to a place where you won't be different. You'll fit right in, okay?" "I don't want to fit in," I tell him, "I want to be a normal human." Pulling away from him, I turn around, running the way I came. Both him and Richard were calling my name in worry, but I ignored them, turning into my Wendigo form and running even faster.

I ran over logs, around tree trunks, and under hanging branches. The underbrush was scratching against my legs, so badly that in some places it was starting to bleed. But that didn't stop me. I wanted to get out of the woods, back to the abandoned building where Otis was. After a few more minutes of running, I realized that everywhere was extremely dark. I changed back to my human form, feeling myself around until I found a tree I was able to climb.

It was hard work to climb in the dark, but I did what I could. First I reached up into the dark, swinging my hand around until it hit against a branch above my head. I clung to the branch, lifting myself up and swinging my foot around to find a good foothold to continue the climb. I continued this process for the next few minutes, only stopping when I felt as if I was a fair distance off of the ground. Wrapping my arms around the slender trunk, I started to fall asleep.

As my eyes finally closed against the black void of night, a chorus of hollering snapped me fully awake. I looked around, seeing a faint light in the distance. It only took me a few seconds to realize that it was light from a fire. I stared at it in awe, the sight sending warm waves down my spine. It looked beautiful. A group of people followed the small batch of fire, all of them shouting and hollering strange words in a language I couldn't understand. One of the people had their hands tied behind their back, a fabric bag over his head. I stared at him in curiosity.

The person holding the fire leaned down, lighting a pile of kindling and shouting in that strange language. The rest of the people repeated what the one holding the fire said, jumping around in a wild joyous dance. In the new light, I could see the people, sort of. They all had black hoodies, even the one with the bag over his head, and the one holding the fire had a symbol on his hoodie. It was just like Slenderman's symbol, but turned on its side to look like a shortened cross that was circled. As he shouted another word, everyone turned to the man with the bagged head.

The person holding him pulled the bag off, revealing a teenage boy with brown hair and brown eyes. "I-I've changed my mind," he stammered, seemingly afraid. The fire-holder got all up in the boy's face, yelling in his face. Whatever he said, the boy seemed even more scared when the man backed away, pulling something out of his pocket. I leaned forward a bit, curiosity getting the best of me. The boy screamed, trying to move away. The fire-holder chuckled, the only human sound I've heard him make so far.

I got a glimpse of the thing the fire-holder was holding, seeing a scalpel shining in his hand. The rest of the group seemed excited to see the scalpel, jumping even more than before. The boy just looked terrified, squeezing his eyes shut as if it was all a dream, and he would wake up soon. The fire-holder grabbed the boy and pushed him down, pinning him there. Shouting some more, he pressed the scalpel against the boy's eyelids, prying them open. I covered my mouth, suddenly realizing that whatever I was watching was Satanic or part of a cult ritual.

Or both.

The boy screamed louder, kicking his legs in an attempt to get away. The fire-holder ignored him, quickly stabbing the scalpel into the boy's eye and wiggling it, tugging it out in a swift swiping motion. He held it up for everyone to see, waving it around before throwing it into the fire. I gagged a bit, not able to take anymore. Slowly climbing down from the tree, I hid behind it, making sure they couldn't see me in the light. Before checking again, I ran, ignoring the pain in my legs and the feeling of carrying two hundred pounds on my shoulders. They were doing something dark, that was for sure. About a mile away from the scene, I slowed down to a walk, hugging myself as the warmth from my running faded away.

It didn't help much, since I was in a short dress. I continued to walk, a light up ahead getting brighter and brighter as I walked towards it. It was the lights from a house. In the back yard, I sat down, hugging my legs in an attempt to get warm. It was so cold, too cold for my to be in a dress. I unraveled myself a bit, looking down at my dress. It was tattered and dirty, covered in dirt, leaves and small twigs. I sighed, hugging my legs tighter than I had been. Laying down on my side, I sigh again, the soft grass beneath me forming a comfy pillow. I whimpered, shivering all over as a cold breeze swept over me. It was too cold for me to bear. Standing up, I make my way towards the back door of the house, feeling my legs start to go numb. I staggered forward a few steps before I fell over, the cold sweeping over me again. I closed my eyes, feeling myself drift off into a cold, dreamless sleep.

I watched Alex walk off into the woods with her "dad" and "uncle", feeling a pit in my stomach. Something in the back of my head told me I was never going to see her again, which only made the pit feel deeper. Letting out a sigh, I stood up, looking up to see that the sky had started getting dark. I'd better get home soon, or else I was going to be in big trouble with my dad. Hugging myself tightly as I walked away, I sighed again. I knew she was gone, but part of me seemed to have left with her. And I wasn't quite sure what that meant.

(Alex)
I woke up in a cold sweat, remembering everything that happened to me. Staring at the ceiling, I was trying to figure out where I was. The ceiling was that spiky kind of popcorn ceiling that hurt like hell if you hit your head on, and the walls were painted a light tannish color. At least that's what I could tell in the near-dark lighting of the room. From what I could tell, I was laying in what looked like an oversized dog bed, still wearing my dress. I tried curling my knees up closer to my chest, only for pain to shoot up both of my legs. I yelped, quickly straightening my legs again. Someone rushed in, leaning over the side of whatever I was laying on. "Stay still, your legs are badly injured," the person said, gently holding my legs down. "You must've gone through alot, kid." I narrowed my eyes at the person, making out a guy with ruffly black hair and hazel eyes. "Who-.....who are you?," I ask, keeping my eyes narrowed.

"My name is Adam Michaelson, and you're here because you ended up unconcious in my family's backyard," he said, his hazel eyes twinkling in amusement. I struggle to sit up, wanting to see more of the room I was in. Adam helped me sit up, cautiously watching myy bandaged legs. "You're lucky my wife's a nurse, otherwise we would have taken you to the hospital."

"Why am I lucky for not going to the hospital?," I asked him, confused. "Well, I'm a volunteer detective. I'm no real genius, but you were in the back yard. The only other thing back there is the woods. And running through all the thorn bushes and thistles would explain why your legs are so badly hurt. So tell me," he asked, "What were you running from?" I stared at him for a while, wondering if it was a trick question or not. As I slowly opened my mouth to speak, a little boy ran into the room, tripping over an invisible item and faceplanting on the floor.

Adam let out a worried laugh, helping the boy up to his feet again and asking, "You okay Carter?" The boy nodded, laughing. Adam looked at me, saying, "This us my son, Carter." Carter giggled a bit, saying, "You were asleep for a long time, miss. We thought you wouldn't wake up." Adam rolled his eyes, protesting, "No, we never thought that."

"So what's your name?," Carter asked me, his smile wide and bright. I smile back leaning down to his level and stopping in my tracks. What if my mother told the cops about my murders? I couldn't tell them my real name! With Adam being a detective, I could get put in jail! I had to think of a different name, quick! I stared into Carter's eyes for a few seconds before saying, "My name is Melany Burns." He smiled wider, whispering, "I like your name!"

"Well Melany," Adam mumbled, "you still haven't told me what you were running from." I tensed up, hoping Adam would have forgotten about that. "I-....I was....," I said slowly, not sure how to put it to where I wouldn't be labeled as a runaway. "I was running from a cult sacrifice," I whispered, staring down at my lap. "I was in this orphanage, and some of the kids got together and tried to sacrifice me in their cult ritual." Adam nodded slowly, saying, "Yeah, but you're leaving out a key detail. The dress, and the blood on it." I narrowed my eyes at him, looking confused. "What blood?," I asked, genuinely confused. There hadn't been any blood on my dress, that I was sure of.

"The silver dress we found you in," Adam said. Before continuing, he looked at Carter and said, "Carter, could you please leave? Daddy's going to interrogate miss Melany." Carter nodded, leaving the room and closing the door behind him. Leaving me and Adam alone. "Now tell me, 'Melany,' what really happened," he said, his tone changing from the light cheerful one he had when Carter was in the room. This tone was dark, and it actually scared me. "I-I did tell you," I stammered, cringing away.

Adam stood up and slammed his hand against the edge of the thing I was laying on, making me jump in surprise. "I don't have time for your lies and excuses, Burns. I want the story, right here right now, nothing but the truth," he said loudly, the sound echoing off the walls. I cringed away more, watching the light from his eyes fade away. He was going to do whatever he could to get me to snap, I could tell.

"OKAY OKAY I'LL TELL YOU," I yelled, shaking all over, "I was in the woods and I found some graffiti on an abandoned building and the paint was still wet so I went to go smell it to see if it was paint really and it wasn't paint it was blood and someone came up behind me and forced me to lick the blood and then I started seeing in red and glowing white spots when I could still taste the blood and then my appearance changed from what I could tell so I freaked out and then my mom got mad at me for taking a rose from some guy with no face and made me burn the rose and then my dad came and picked me up he lives in the woods and I was going there but then I really really missed my friend so I ran back and on the way I ran into the cult group and watched them gouge this poor guy's eyes out and I left because it made me sick and I thought they were following me so I ran and I started getting way to cold and everuthing got blurry then I saw this house and passed out. I don't know how the blood got there, I swear Adam!" I gasped and panted for breath, having not taken a single breath throughout that entire speech. Adam stared at me for the longest time before finally saying, "You're still leaving something out of the story."

I waved my hands around, saying, "What the heck am I leaving out?" How you got here. This place is surrounded by miles of woods in the back. And the closest town is about twenty miles away." I stared at him, letting out my own nervous laugh. "Impossible I only walked like five miles." "I'll sign you up for school here tomorrow, until we get this thing sorted out," Adam said, the dark scary tone leaving his voice, returning to the cheerful one. I nodded and so did he, making him see that I agreed. He nodded again, turning around and opening the door. As the door flung opened, a delicious smell a bacon macaroni filled the room. (((((No I'm serious right now, Squirrels....try putting pieces of bacon in your macaroni after you cook it and oh my gawd, HEAVEN IN A BOWL (or on a plate)!!!!! So freaking delicious!!!!!)))))

I groan, folding over and holding my stomach. The last time I'd eaten was lunch before I left with Johnathan and Richard. "You must be hungry," Adam smiled, "Come on out and have something to eat." I nodded, slowly swinging my legs over the side of the bed to get up. Adam stayed where he was, watching me as if to make sure I didn't fall over and need help. I followed him down the hall, into a kitchen with bar stools around an island instead of a table. I held Adam back, standing on my tiptoes to whisper in his ear, "I don't really feel comfortable eating with your family." He chuckled a bit, holding my shoulder and leading me to the table.

"Carter, you already met Melany. Sweetheart, this is Melany, the patient you've been treating," he said, motioning towards a lady sitting at the table. The plates were all set, and there was even one set out for me. The bacon macaroni looked delicious, the smell making my stomach growl louder. "I'd try and eat slowly," the lady said, looking up at me, "Having been bed ridden for nearly a week, your stomach might not act too well at a quick supply of food." I smiled, nodding and sitting down at the table in the seat across from her.

"My name is Jamie," the lady said, smiling a bit, "Jamie Michaelson." "So that's your married name?," I asked, smiling back. "Yes, of course," she laughed. "My maiden name is Jamie Johnson." I tensed up, recognizing the last name. It was my dad's last name, that I was sure of. Also, it was my real last name. As I opened my mouth to talk, footsteps clomped down the hallway. Turning to look at them, I saw a girl with short bright blue hair, dark eyeliner and mascara around her eyes, a collar around her neck and black jeans and a black leather jacket over a blue tank top.

Jamie looked up at her, saying, "Abigail, why don't you come sit down and eat?" "What," Abigail growled, "you mean eat with that freakazoid? No way mom. And for the record, my name's Gail, not Abigail!" Turning away from the table, she stomped off, her black combat boots thundering against the floor. The front door slammed closed, letting the whole house know that she had left the house. Jamie and Adam both sighed, shaking their heads. "That's Abigail," Adam muttered, "She's a bit troubled, as you can tell." I stared at the door she walked out of, saying, "She's not troubled. I know that for sure. I used to be like that too."

"You?!?," Carter gasped, seemingly shocked, "But you're nice, she's a meany head!" "Carter, don't say mean things like that about your sister!," Jamie said sternly, narrowing her eyes at him. "I'll go talk to her," I say quickly, getting up from my chair and jogging out the front door. I see Gail walking across the street, towards the playground by the abandoned school. A small fire was lit behind the school, past the playground. A few people were dancing around the fire, bringing me memories of the cult ritual I witnessed before. I stayed behind, making sure she didn't see me. When she turned around, I crouched down, one time even climbing up the ladder on the side of the school and crouching down on the roof.

I watched from above, watching as some big buff guy dragged Gaail around the corner and away from the rest of the people. I could easily see that Gail was struggling to get away from him. Wow, two minutes at the party and she was already on the verge of being raped. Not really feeling like intervening, I continued to watch. Gail stopped struggling. "We should go somewhere more private," Gail suggested, her voice shaking. I rolled my eyes, following them along the school and back to the playground, even further and into a small patch of trees. I had to stop at the edge of the school building though, but I had to find a way to follow them still.

The distance between the trees and the building was far, but not too far. I would have easily been able to make it, I just needed some sort of rope. And then I remembered that I had my tentacles in my Wendigo form. Concentrating as hard as I could, I slowly changed into my wendigo form. Once in that form, I shot one of my tentacles out, wrapping it around a tree branch. I swung across the space like a chimp on a vine, landing on a branch immediately above Gail and the guy.

I watched them, smiling wickedly. This brought back the memory between me and Otis behind that abandoned building, only this time the roles were switched. Since I was able to easily manuver myself along the branches, I turned back into my human form. Gail was pinned against the tree I was in, the guy putting his hand up her shirt. I navigated my way around to get a better view, all the while having my eyes off of Gail. As I navigated, I heard Gail whisper, "There should be less of you around."

I looked down at her, confused. When I looked at her, I saw that her skin was a different color. It was silver, like mine was when I was in Wendigo form. Her face had gone, but every other part of her was the same except for that and her skin. The guy was too busy to notice anything different, so when a silver tentacle shot out and wrapped around his back, he most likely pissed his pants. Maybe even shat them when he was thrown up into the air, his head violently hitting the branch I was standing on. I changed into my Wendigo form, grabbing him and tossing him over through the trees.

Gail turned back into her human form, staring up at me with wide eyes. She growled, turning around and running out of the woods. I followed her, jumping out of the trees and landing in front of her in the open field. I opened my razor-teethed mouth, snarling at her. She narroed her eyes, running around me and back to her house. I chased after her, not knowing how fast I was able to run in this form. I caught up to her at the door, tackling her and crashing through to land on the floor.

Before anyone saw me, I turned back to my human form. Just as Adam and Jamie came running around the corner. "MOM, DAD," Gail yelled, kicking and screaming below me, "HELP ME! GET THIS MONSTER OFF OF ME!" They gave her confused looks, and I stood up, letting Gail rush off. She did so, running into Adam and clinging onto him tightly. She stared at me, and I stared back, panting. "Gail," I said slowly, "We need to talk about what just happened."

Gail looked up at her dad, crying, "Daddy she's a monster, I saw it with my own eyes! She tried to kill me!" "I'm not a monster," I said, rolling my eyes, "And if I'm a monster, you are too." I opened my mouth to continue, only for someone to knock on the door. Jamie walked by me, opening the door a crack to peek out. "Can I help you with something?," she asked the person. "Yes of course," the person outside said, "My daughter went missing, and I need to know if you've seen her?"

I tensed up all over, recognizing the voice of Johnathan. My dad. Backing away slowly, Jammie said, "What's your daughter's name?" "Alexandria Johnson, but she goes by Alex." "No, haven't seen any Alex around. But we do have a guest visiting for a while. Her name's Melany." Turning to look inside and opening the door further, Jamie said, "Melany, come say hi to our guests!" I jumped and bolted around the corner, away from my dad's view. "Or not," Jamie said to my dad, "I guess she's shy."

"Jamie," my dad said sternly, "She's my only daughter. I need to find her, it's not an option." I heard Jamie scoff, muttering, "Since when did you care about people? And why come here, your daughter doesn't know who I am anyways!" I pressed my back against the wall, feeling my heart pounding as if it would break through my ribs. Adam walked to my side, saying, "Melany, are you feeling okay?" I nod a bit, saying, "The stuff you found me with, where are they?" "Why?," he asked, confused. "I'm grateful for your hospitality, but I have to leave, now," I growl, narrowing my eyes.

Adam shook his head and chuckled, saying, "I knew you weren't Melany Burns." He grabbed my arm, dragging me to a room in the back of the house. "Your daughter," I say on the way, "Your daughter's not human." We stop at the room, Adam saying, "What do you mean?" "Promise not to scream?," I ask, suddenly very nervous. He nods, and I cover his mouth. Just in case. Concentrating, I quickly change into my Wendigo form, seeing Adam's terrified expression when I was done. I moved my hand away from his mouth, saying, "You promised not to scream."

He covered his own mouth, stumbling away. "Jamie," he yelled, backing away from me quickly, "Call the police! Now!" Jamie came into the area we were, seeing me in my Wendigo form. She gasped, and I yelped when Johnathan walked in behind her, seeing me as well. I lunge myself at the nearest window, launching myself out and running away from the house. Glancing over my shoulder, I saw my dad running after me. Since he was still in his human form, he wasn't nearly as fast as me. So I had an advantage.

I ran faster, reaching the tree line. My dad stopped chasing me there, staring into the trees. "Alex," he said, seeming to know I was nearby, "come on out. Please? I just need to talk to you." I stayed quiet, refusing to answer. He just sighed, walking back towards the house. I watched him. In the window to the back door, Gail was standing there. And although it was too dark for her to see me, she was looking directly at me. As if she knew something. And something told me that I knew it too, but I ignored it. I was about to leave, but then I remembered I forgot my stuff in the house.

So I waited an hour or so, watching as the lights of the house turn off one by one. It went on until every light was off throughout the house before I got down from the tree. I snuck up to the house, stepping over fallen toys and branches in the yard as not to make a sound. I reached the window I came out of, pulling myself through only for my head to hit something.

I quickly turned back into my human form, just in case it was Carter. Glancing up, I saw Gail staring back at me. I growled at her, about to attack her when she held out my bag in front of me. More than slightly confused, I looked Gail over to see a black satchel over her shoulder. "I'm coming with you," she said, pushing me down so she could climb through. I stared at her, scoffing, "What are you talking about?" She climbed entirely through the window, her black combat boots hitting the grass below. Looking at me, she said again, "I'm coming with you. So, where are we going?" I stared at her, not sure what to think.

"Why would you want to come with me?," I ask, narrowing my eyes at her. She looked down, muttering, "Because no one else in my family is like me. But you are, Melany. You're the same as me. There has to be a reason why we met, right?" I stared at her, realizing she was right. Out of all the other Wendigo I've seen so far, no others have had silver skin. Sure, she could come with if she wanted. I pointed at her satchel, asking, "So what's in the bag?" She smiled a bit nervously, opening her bag to show me a rusted chain and some clothes inside.

"What's the chain for?," I ask, confused. Opening my bag, I pulled out my chain, the hook attached. And on the hook was the rose, still fresh and healthy. I growl at the rose, ripping it off the hook and throwing it on the ground. Stomping on it a few times, I growl at it again, before looking up at Gail. "The guy that came to try and pick me up from here gave me that," I explained, feeling my cheeks heat up. She laughed and shook her head, walking past me towards the trees. I followed her, walking by her side.

We walked through the woods, the sun coming up after about three hours. But still we walked on. And on. And on. Until finally we reached the edge of the woods, the sunlight nearly blinding us in its noon-high splendor. Looking around with a blurry vision, I recognized the place quickly. It was the abandoned building where I left Otis! I gasp and cover my mouth, thinking I'd never see it again. Gail looks at me, confused. "You okay?," she asks me, obviously worn out.

I sat down on the dirt, a huge grin on my face. "You wanna go to school?," I ask, grinning more. She shrugs, nodding her head a bit. I stand up and grab her hand, slowly pulling her in the direction of school.

We walked all the way there, reaching the doors about ten minutes before first period started. Gail stopped me, pulling a wad of clothes out of the bag. "You've been out for over a week," she said, "I'd come back in something other than that dress." I grabbed the clothes from her, seeing a green tank top and a black denim jacket, along with some grey jeans. I stared at them, seeing Gail nod encouragingly. "Go on, put them on!," she said, walking the two of us into the school and to the nearest bathroom.

She waited outside as I quickly changed clothes, applauding as I stepped out in my new style. "One last thing," she said, stepling towards me with scissors in her hand. I yelped, quickly trying to get away. She held me down, snipping off about six inches of hair off of the spot by my ear. I froze, shocked. Since she did that little part, I had to let her finish. When she was done, I stood up and looked in the mirror, seeing my once long hair only down just past my ears. The way she cut it, each little area ended in fuzzy spikes, making me look emo. And since she did that, I went ahead and let her do my makeup.

"There," she said, smiling over my shoulder, "now you look like a whole new person!" "I look like you," I say, staring at the mirror. She growled at me, muttering, "What's that supposed to mean? Is that some sort of insult?" I shook my head and made her stand next to me, pointing at the two of us in the mirror, repeating, "I look like you." She leaned forward and stared at the mirror with me, her jaw hanging a bit. "Oh my gawd," she gasped, "you're right! We look nearly identical!"

"The only thing is that you have blue hair," I say, "and mine is black." "Other than that we're identical!," she yelped, covering her mouth. "What if I was switched at birth or something," I say, turning away from the mirror and starting to pace the bathroom, "and we're actually twins?" She shrugged, looking up at the clock and saying, "We need to get to class!"

I nod, running out of the bathroom with Gail on my heels. As the bell wrag, I picked up my pace, saying, "It's right around the corner!" As I slid around the corner, I heard my name called as Mr. Migilugutty called the roll. "Well," I heard him sigh, "looks like Alex is absent again." I rush into the classroom, sliding about five feet on the slick floor with Gail, saying, "I'm here, Mr. Migiligutty!" Coming to a stop, I stare at him, both me and Gail panting. He stares at me for a few seconds before looking down at his clipboard, scratching off a mark he'd made earlier.

Hearing chair legs scrape across the floor, I turn to see Otis standing at his desk, his hands clasping the side of his desk so tight that his knuckles were turning white. I stare at him, feeling my cheeks heat up. Gail notices, and I'm sitting there thinking, 'Damn it Gail, fucking do something before I die of embarrassment!' 'What do you want me to do?,' I hear Gail's voice ask me in my mind, making my growl in my head, 'Anything, I don't care!'

Next thing I know, with my eyes still on Otis and my cheeks still burning red, Gail turns me to look at her, leaning forward and kissing me on the cheek. I freeze, more than shocked. Otis blushed a bit, sitting back down in his seat. 'WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?,' I screamed mentally, more embarrassed now, listening to the entire class giggle. 'You told me to do something. We could be twins, so just think of that as sisterly love. Geez, calm down,' Gail mentally said back. I shrugged, walking to my seat and sitting down, Gail sitting in the empty desk next to me on my left. Otis was in the desk to my right.

Damn it.

To get away from Otis and how awkward it was, I scooched my desk closer to Gail. Otis scooched his desk closer to me, whispering, "So where the hell have you been, Alex?," I tensed up, spinning to face Otis, growling at him. Gail tapped my shoulder, saying, "You're name isn't Melany?" I stared at my desk, letting my head fall down and hit it hard. I hissed at the desk, raising my head and growling at Otis. He smirked at me, the smirk making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Otis reached for my hand, and I just stared at him, feeling paralyzed. Gail grabbed his hand, digging her long nails into the back of his hand. He yelped, trying to pull his hand away. "You leave my sister alone," she growled, her blue eyes narrowing to slits. Otis's eyes widened, whispering, "You two are sisters?!?" Gail puts her face next to mine, and Otis's eyes widen more. "Oh god, you two look almost identical!," he gasped.

"My natural hair color's black," Gail said, laughing a bit. "So entirely identical?," Otis said, seemingly amazed. I nodded, muttering, "I just met her last night, too." "Wait," Otis said quickly, "if you two are identical, can she...?" "Turn into a Wendigo?," Gail and I finished together, "yes!" Me and Gail stared at each other, laughing quietly. Otis took the opportunity to yank his hand away, rubbing the marks left behind from Gail's nails. "So, do you still go by HookRose?," Otis asked me, looking curious.

I nodded, and Gail looked at me, saying, "You go by HookRose?!?" I nodded again, and she continued, "I go by ChainRose!" Otis laughed and shook his head, saying, "Hook and Chain, the Rose twins." "That's actually has a nice ring to it," Gail laughed, smiling. I nod in agreement, laughing with her. Otis open's his mouth to talk, but the classroom door flying open interrupted him. I looked up at it, seeing my dad standing in the doorway, looking around the room. His eyes landed on me, and he scowled. Mr. Migilugutty stared at my dad with a bored expression, saying, "Do you have a reason for interrupting my class, sir?"

My dad ignored him, staring at me. Gail leaned back in her chair, and the two of us sank down in our seats. "He walked over to us, looking between me Gail and Otis, saying, "Since I know you, Otis, are a pretty good friend of my daughter, I need to know if any of you three know where she is." Otis sank down in his seat along with me and Gail, saying, "Nice to see you again, Mr. Johnson. But yeah, no, I haven't seen her since she left with you and your brother."

My dad looked at me and Gail, asking, "Have either of you seen her?" We both shook out heads vigorously, and he narrowed his eyes at us. Mr. Migilugutty walked forward and tapped my dad on the shoulder, saying, "Sir, I'm going to haveI to ask you to leave my classroom." My dad straightened up, glaring at me and Gail. As he turned to walk out, Richard peeked in, looking around and staring at me and Gail.

'Nice to see you two finally found each other,' he said in my mind, smiling in real life. 'Don't worry,' he continued, 'I got your back. I won't tell him it's you.' Richard grabs my dad's arm, pulling him out of the classroom. I rest my head on the desk, grinning evilly. I had a wonderful plan! 'Still can't find me, daddy?,' I say to my dad in my mind. 'Too bad. You came so close last night!' I hear him growl, saying back to me, 'Alex, you listen here, you need to come back.' 'Maybe I'm not ready to leave,' I snarl at him. He snarled back, saying, 'Maybe you don't have a choice.'

I was about to speak again, when the bell wrang. Class was over. "Now students, since the big storm is coming later, you all know very well that we're going home right now." Gail and I looked over at Otis, asking at the same time, "Storm?" "Yeah," Otis nodded, "there's this big storm supposed to hit in about an hour."

Gail laughed a bit, saying, "Yay, a storm!" "Wait," I say quietly, mainly talking to myself, "Richard said he's glad we found eachother. What's that supposed to mean?" "What?," Otis and Gail said in usion, looking at me confused. "My uncle, Richard. The one who dragged my dad out of the room. He said he was glad we found eachother," I say, shuttering, randomly, "Does he know something neither of us know?" The two of them stared at me, smirks on their faces.

TThe rest of the class was getting up, leaving the classroom. I jumped out of my seat, running out of the room. In the hallway, everyone was whooping and hollaring, running for the exit. I ran with them, hoping to catch up with Richard before he got too far. After about ten seconds of running, I crashed into someone, and they held me in place. Thinking it was Johnathan, I screamed, trying to pull away. "GET AWAY FROM ME YOU NO GOOD ASSHOLE," I shouted, letting my nails grow and dig into his arms. He yelped, holding me away and saying, "Calm down kiddo, it's just me!" I snarled and looked up at him, seeing that it wasn't my dad, but it was Richard.

(Gail)
I watched Alex get up and run out, slowly getting up from my chair and following her. Otis followed me. As I exited the room, I heard Alex scream. Tensing up and preparing for anything, I sprinted towards the noise. "GET AWAY FROM ME YOU NO GOOD ASSHOLE," I heard Alex scream, making me jump. I sprinted faster, turning a corner to see someone holding Alex in place. The man whispered something, and Alex snarled and looked up at him. She froze, and I watched.

Stepping forward, I reach into my bag and pulled my chain out, swinging it so it wrapped around the man's neck. Yanking hard on the chain, I pull the man away. With him falling to the ground, I push my foot against him, growling, "You have to get through me to get to her, buddy boy." The man simply chuckled and smiled, saying, "It's remarkable. Did you come because of one of your five senses, or because some sort of inner mind conciousness?" I stare down at him confused, saying, "What in the Atlanta are you talking about?!?" "When you came to help Alex," he said, his smile growing wider.

I stepped off of him, looking at Alex. "What the hell is this guy talking about?" Alex shrugged, as confused as I was. She leaned over the man, saying, "Uncle Richard, what the hell are you talking about?" "UNCLE?!?," I screamed, eyes wide in shock. The man, Richard, sat up, looking between me and Gail. "Oh my Zalgo," he said slowly, "You two look so much alike! I know you two are twins and all, but you're completely identical!"

"Wait," me and Alex shout at the same time, "We're actually twins?!? We were only guessing before! We didn't know it was for real!" "But if Johnathan's my dad," Alex said, covering her mouth, "than he's her dad too!" Richard stood up and brushed himself off, taking the chain off from around his neck as he said, "Actually, about that...." He rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling nervously.

I stared at him for a while, and so did Alex. After we stared for about a minute, someone's hands grabbed my shoulders. I yelped and jumped up in surprise, spinning around to see a boy about my age with fiery red hair and grey eyes. He smiled nervously, backing away and saying, "My mistake, I thought you were someone else." "Who are you?," I asked him, narrowing my eyes and looking him over.

He wore a black tee shirt and a red vest over it, torn red jeans, looking like a no-good teacher's pet, all dressed up in the school colors. "My name's Zane," he said, smiling at,me. I narrowed my eyes into slits, hissing at him, "And what would a goodie two-shoes kid like you want with an emo kid who looks like me?" Zane laughed and kneeled over, holding his stomach as if he was laughing too hard. "Gawd," he chuckled, shaking his head, "I'm nowhere near a goodie two-shoes. And what I'd want from an emo kid like you? Well, you look like my little sister."

Richard stepped between me and Zane, saying quietly, "Alex, Gail, I think it's about time we leave." I watched Zane stop laughing immediately, backing up and running into the lockers as he stammered, "A-Alex?!?" Alex stared at him in confusion for a while, but the confusion didn't last as she snarled and lept onto him, quickly changing into her Wendigo form. "YOU SON OF A BITCH!," she shouted, her sharp Wendigo teeth inches from tearing his face to shreds, "I FUCKING KILLED YOU, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ALIVE?!?" Zane laughed nervously, saying, "Well, you see, about that....."

Alex snarled loudly, lunging forward to sink her teeth in and rip his throat to shreds. Her teeth a millimeter away from his skin, she was suddenly yanked away. I've been so busy paying attention to Zane, I didn't notice the other boy walking up behind Alex. Zane grabbed his throat and began breathing heavily, sinking down against the wall in shock. Richard stood by with a look of curiousness on his face. But the boy that yanked Alex away, oh gawd, was he cute!

His golden blonde hair shimmered and shinned in the hallway lighting, his grey eyes swirling and twirling like clouds in a thunder storm. And his clothes, oh god his clothes. A black tee shirt beneath a shinning gold vest, golden jeans with tears at the knees to reveal grey leggings below. Perfect. Just uncontrollably perfect. He was my kind of guy. Shaking my head, I snapped back to reality. The guy was holding onto Alex tightly, looking angry as he said, "What the hell do you think you're doing to my brother, freak?!?"

Without anyone noticing, even me, Alex had changed into her human form before the guy could see her in Wendigo form. Alex gave him the same angry look back, saying viciously, "Your brother nearly killed my friend!" "Well lay a hand on him again and I'll kill you, got it?!?," the guy shouted, gripping Alex tighter. I glanced over at Richard, seeing him continue to watch everything with a smile on his face. Suddenly, Alex shoved the guy acroos the hallway, yelling, "Not if I kill you first, you little bitch!!!" I enjoyed how Alex called the guy a little bitch, taking into fact that he was about half a foot taller than her. As was Zane.

The guy got up and started to charge at Alex, looking pissed off. And that's when everything happened in slow motion. Desperate times called for desperate measures, and even if I liked this guy, I wouldn't let him attack my sister. As time sped up again, I ran at the guy, tackling him to the ground before he could get Alex. I landed laying on top of him, blushing like a mad man. Staring into his stormy grey eyes, I lean close and hiss at him, "Touch my sister, and I'll make you beg for mercy." Beg for mercy? What the hell was I doing, trying to seduce the guy?!?

He rolled over so he was on top of me, saying, "Sorry to tell you, girly, but YOU'LL be the one begging for mercy." He got up off of me, staring down at me and giving me a little smirk, winking at me. I growled at him, wrapping my feet around his leg and rolling over, making him fall. Right before he hit, I stood up and grabbed the back of his jacket, keeping him from hitting the floor. "There should be less of you around," I growled, leaning down to pick up my chain from the ground. I ignore Zane, listening to him yell, "Derek, no!"

So his name was Derek? Cool. Nice to know before I killed him. As I try to swing it around his neck to kill him, Richard stops me, grabbing me and Alex and teleporting us away from the two.

When we arrived where we were going, I growled at Richard, yelling, "WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT?!? I COULD HAVE TAKEN HIM OUT EASILY!!!" Richard turned into what I guessed was his Wendigo form, his blank white face snarling down at me as he shouted, "You listen here, 'Gail', I don't know how your morals go, but I have one strict rule about killing people in public places. 'Don't kill one unless you plan on killing all of them in that area'!" He looked about ready to badly hurt me, but he just turned around and teleported away, leaving me and Alex alone. I looked around, seeing that we were in some sort of living room.

Alex looked around with me, her eyes growing wider the more she looked. "I know where we are," she whispered, quickly turning around and running up some stairs behind her, tripping and slipping on the air as she scrambled up them in the near dark lighting. I followed her slowly, making for sure I had good footing instead of rushing up like Alex. "Where are we?," I asked, curious and cautious at the same time. She ignored me, slamming her fist against the door on her left. "SYDNEY, MOM, ARE EITHER OF YOU IN THERE?!?," she shouted, her legs shaking violently. After about a minute of no response, she turned into her Wendigo form, snarling at the door. "SYDNEY," she repeated, "MOM, ARE EITHER OF YOU IN THERE?!?"

I watched her, feeling a bit more than just sorry when a Wendigo male opened the door, shoving Alex back against the opposite wall. I snarled and turned to my Wendigo form, pulling my chain out of my bag. The Wendigo had dark grey skin, not the shiny silver color like me and Alex's, but alot darker. He had dark splotches on his skin, and the smell of fresh blood floated out of the room he had been in. He wore a black vest with a hood and a white tee, black jeans to match. And as an added fact, he had pitch black hair.

Looking between the weird male and Alex, I noticed something weird. Alex was taking deeps breaths, shaking all over. "Th-the blood......," she stammered, shaking more. I tilted my head to the side, as did the male. She shoved the male away, wiping a splotch of the blood from his face and licking it from her hand, shivering all over and sliding down the wall, purring loudly. The male looked at me, saying slowly, "So she has bloodlust?" I jumped in surprise, not expecting the kind soft voice from the otherwise rough-and-ragged looking male Wendigo. I nodded, feeling my silver cheeks heat up.

"Hey, I got 'em both," said someone else from inside the room, another male Wendigo walking out, his outfit the same as the first's but white instead of black and black instead of white. And he had pure white hair, not black. He stopped in his tracks, looking at me, then Alex, then the first male, then back at me again. "Who the hell is this, Torture?," he asked the first, reaching behind him and grabbing onto a metal bar about four feet long and two inches in diameter, the ends sharpened into large spikes. Each spike soaked in blood.

'Torture' chuckled, taking the metal bar away from the guy and saying, "I think we found a few street mice after our meals, Murder." His mouth parted in a wicked grin, revealing teeth sharper and longer than both me and Alex's. Murder grabbed another metal bar, lunging at Alex while Torture lunged at me. I hissed loudly, clawing at Torture's black hair with one hand and struggling to grab my chain with the other. Alex was in the same predicament.

(Alex)
I shoved Murder away from me, watching as he toppled down the stairs. Smirking for a few seconds, it took until the point I went tumbling after to him to realize that his foot had caught onto my chain. When we both landed at the bottom on the stairs, we quickly got up, picking up our weapons and facing each other. I bared my teeth at him, realizing how dull and weak mine looked compared to Murder's.

Murder chuckled, pointing the end of his bar at me. "Look's like I'm the more dominant one here," he laughed, taking a step forward. I narrowed my eyes at him, lifting up my chain and swinging it at him. Murder blocks the blow, laughing louder. I snarl again, opening my mouth to let out a beastly growl when something tumbles down the stairs. Me and Murder both looking, we see Torture at the bottom of the stairs, tied up with Gail's chain. He was laying still, blinking as if bored. He looked up at Murder, saying, "This chick is crazy, she just refuses to give me up! I know I have good looks and all, but geez. She tied me up to get me to stay!"

Me and Gail growl at Torture, but Murder burst out into inapropriate laughter. "Yeah," he chuckled, yanking on his bar and taking my chain away from my grasp, "this one tried the same trick on me!" As Gail and I scowled, the two of them burst into laughter. "Allow us to introduce ourselves," Torture said, smiling and looking between me and Gail from his spot on the ground. "I'm Torture Midnight, and that's my buddy, Murder Midnight."

I bowed mockingly, saying, "I'm HookRose, one word, and that's my twin, ChainRose, also one word." As I tried to continue, Richard teleported into the room. Or, better yet, Slenderman. Since he was in his Wendigo form. He looked over the four of us, looking quite shocked. "Okay," he said softly, "since in this lighting you all kind of look the same, why don't you all turn back to human? Get to know eachother, as the family we are?"

Me and Gail listened immediately, turning back into our human forms. The boys weren't so obedient though, taking alot longer to finally listen. As they changed back into their human forms, I stared in shock, letting out a gasp. Gail gasped too, covering her mouth. She obviously saw what I saw. In front of us, who we knew originally as Murder and Torture Midnight, stood none other than........
