Luck Runs Out

"The music is so pretty!" Piper grinned as the song starts to play.

[EURYLOCHUS]
Please don't tell me you're about to do what I think you'll do

"Knowing Odysseus, he probaby is," Jason said with a sigh, his friends nod. For the smartest person in Greek mythology, he made a lot of dumb decisions.

[ODYSSEUS]
You've heard the legends of the island in the sky
This proves they're true
We're in the home of the wind god

The demigods are still unhappy about the discory that Odysseus and his crew are about to run into a weather god, the seven's least favourite type of god.

[EURYLOCHUS]
We don't know for sure

[ODYSSEUS]
How many floating islands have you seen before?
This is the home of the wind god

[EURYLOCHUS]
And what's your plan?

[ODYSSEUS]
I'm gonna climb to the top and ask 'em for a hand

"He's still following Polities ideals," Hazel frowned as she remembered Odysseus' pacifist friend.

"It's dumb," Thalia said bluntly as she starred at the screen.

"Wha—?"

"50 of his crew just died because Odysseus followed Polities, if Odysseus listened to Eurylochus than nobody would of died, they could of easily overpowered Polythemus."

"But they wouldn't have found the cave yet," Frank counted, "If they went with Eurylochus' plan then they would have killed all of the lotus eaters and have eaten the lotus."

Annabeth frowned, thinking about what she would do if she was in Odysseus' situation.

[EURYLOCHUS]
You could be caught off guard and lose your life
Or piss off this god and infuse us with strife

"Didn't Odysseus just piss off a goddess?" Leo asked.

Percy sighed, "Yep."

Don't forget how dangerous the gods are

Piper shook her head, "I hate to say it but I agree with him."

[ODYSSEUS]
Have faith, friend, we've come this far

[EURYLOCHUS]
Yes, but how much longer 'til your luck runs out?

"Wait?! Is this in front of the CREW?!" Reyna exclaimed.

"Why does that matter?" Leo asked.

"Why does that matter? It lowers moral, not to mention ILLEGAL, if Eurylochus had a problem with the captions decision, he should have pulled him aside and talked to him in private!"

How much longer 'til the show goes south?
How much longer 'til we all fall down?
You rely on wit, and people die on it, whoa

[ODYSSEUS]
I still believe in goodness
I still believe that we could be kind
Lead from the heart, and see what starts

"How old is Odysseus?" Nico asked.

"Why would we know?"

"ALYX?!" Nico called out. Alyx suddenly appeared in the centre of the room, standing in front of the paused screen causing the demigod to flinch. "How old is Odysseus?"

Alyx shrugged, "I don't know. I'll google it."

"We can't do that—"

"Time is frozen remember, it's fine, the monsters don't get the signals," Alyx grabbed out her phone and googled his age, "He's around 30 here, why?" (This is a guess, I honestly don't know)

"He's acting like a child."

Alyx stared at Nico, her eyes blank, she turned around, "I'm never googling anything for these guys again, what a waste of time," she muttered.

[EURYLOCHUS]
And what will we do when it tears us apart?

"Oh my gods! Is that Polites ribbon?!" Hazel cried.

"I was agreeing with Eurylochus but that was just mean..."

[ODYSSEUS]
Where is this coming from, my friend?

[EURYLOCHUS]
I just don't wanna see another life end
You're like the brother I could never do without

[ODYSSEUS]
And suddenly, you doubt that I could figure this out?

"Well you don't have Athena anymore..."

"Leo, they never knew about her—" Jason corrected, getting annoyed with Leo's one sided beef with the hero.

[EURYLOCHUS]
Captain, how much longer 'til your luck runs out?
How much longer 'til the show goes south?
How much longer 'til we all fall down?
You rely on wit, and people die on it, woah
How much longer 'til the snake breaks free?
How much longer 'til your great days cease?
How much longer 'til your strength takes leave?
You rely on wit, and people die on it, whoa

"SEE!" Renya exclaimed as she watched the crew slowly start to question Odysseus. "This is why Eurylochus should have pulled him aside."

Annaneth's eyes widened as she realised something, "Alyx! I need you to do something for me!"

Alyx crossed her arms, once again appearing in front of them, "I'm not going to keep doing this."

"I know, I know, but I just realised something— can you go back to Eurylochus' first line?"

"He's quieter! He got louder as Odysseus kept disagreeing with him! Eurylochus was purposely letting the crew hear his complaints," Annabeth grinned at her discovery, smirking proudly as she looked at the shock expression on Alyx's face.

"Huh, I hadn't realised that—"

"Good job Wisegirl," Percy grinned as he plants a kiss on Annabeth's forehead.

[ODYSSEUS]
Thank you for the concern, but brother, I can assure you
Our journey is almost done
I understand that we're tired, I understand that we're fazed
But don't forget how much we've already faced
I took 600 men to war and not one of them died there
In case you needed a reminder
If you'd like to speak more, let me pull you aside then
I need to talk to you in private

Thalia laughed, "Eury is about a get his ass beat!"

I can't have you planting seeds of doubt
I can't have you disagreeing each route

Leo buried his head, although Odysseus was talking to Eurylochus (and died 3000 years ago) he couldn't help but realise that Leo had poked fun and disagreed with almost everything Odysseus has said. Leo felt very intimidated by Odysseus, they hadn't seen this ruthless side of him yet.

I need you to always be devout and comply with this
Or we'll all die in this

Reyna nodded, happy that Odysseus that also expressed her point.

Okay?

[EURYLOCHUS]
Okay

[ODYSSEUS]
Thank you

"Captain Odysseus is scary," Percy muttered, earning a nod from a handful of his friends.
