"Story, Dadda, story!"
Five year old Jasper yelled as he was hefted onto his father's back, and wrapped his arms around the man. Jason gave him a small grin, and he began to run through the house, past Piper who stood in the kitchen washing the dishes.
"Careful, Sparky!" She called as they ran past, Jason stopping to give her a quick kiss on the cheek as Jasper gagged. The little blond haired boy bounded up and down on his father's back, screeching in joy and gripping to Jason's similar blond hair.
When they reached the young Grace's bedroom, Jason set him down on the bed, and went the book shelf, which stood on the right side of the pale blue room, stacks of books lining it. Jason traced his finger along them, trying to find one they had not read yet.
He picked one, spinning around to find his son already under the covers; all he could see was a tuft of soft, blond hair.
"How about this one, buddy?"
He said softly, as he made a dip in the bed in the movement of sitting next to his son, who sat up, pulling the covers clumsily over him and his dad. He looked up at Jason, sitting his hands in his lap quietly. Suddenly Jason's breath was taken away; every time he looked into his son's eyes, he could see Piper's smile shining through the ever changing greens, blues, yellows and browns.
"Nope."
Jasper's childish voice broke through Jason's initial shock and he looked down at his son, tilting his head slightly in confusion. "But I thought you wanted me to read you a story before you go to sleep?"
Jasper hung his head, his bangs hanging in his eyes. "I want you to tell me that story. The one about the boy." He said it quietly, not looking at his father out of embarrassment.
If he had looked up, though, he would see that Jason's expression had softened, softened to the point that tears sparkled in them. He shook his head, ruffling his son's hair lovingly, trying to hide his sorrow with a smile.
He looked down at the young boy who looked up at him with wide eyes, oblivious to his emotions and the wave of tears that threatened to spill. Jason nodded at Jasper, not trusting himself to speak, for fear of breaking.
He took a deep breath and cleared his throat, calming himself, then looking out the window to the buildings that created Camp Jupiter, the soft pattering of rain glittering the window with wetness. (Don't ask)
"There once was brave, brave boy, who had no Mommy or Daddy. He was lonely, living in homes for kids with no Mommy or Daddy's," Jasper sighed, leaning against his father and wrapping his arms around his arm. Jason smiled down at him with watery eyes, as the young boy closed his eyes and continued on. "But he didn't like those places. The people there weren't very nice, and he didn't get along with other kids very well. When he was older, however, he met two kids, a girl and boy. That girl and boy became his friends, his best friends, and they went on fun adventures, adventures where they fought Giants and Titans with many of his good friends on their ship that the smart boy had created. Le-The boy loved his friends very much, and he was happy." By now when Jason looked down at Jasper, he had his eyes closed, so he pulled him closer, deciding to call it a night, stretching out an arm to turn off the lamp beside them.
But a tiny hand reached out, and Jason looked down at his son, who wore the puppy dog look like a pro.
Uncle Percy...
"What happens to him?" He whispered, and Jason paused, moving to snuggled back down on the bed with him.
"O-Okay." Jason wavered, and continued on with the story, clearing his throat once more, "But one day there was a big war, a war that the boy and his friends couldn't really control. They fought endlessly, but in the end, the boy had fallen, risking his life for his friends, and stopping-" Jason felt a sob crawling up his throat, but he kept it down, pushing his glasses further up his nose with shaking fingers. Jasper looked up at him with wide eyes, worried ones. But Jason sent him a reassuring smile and his son sighed.
"He stopped the war, because he was a brave boy, a boy who had the purist of hearts, and peace was brought to the lands."
Jason swallowed, and noticed Jasper had his eyes slowly drooping. Jason kissed his forehead, laying his son down the bed further, and he snuggled into his father's side.
"He was cool..." Jasper murmured before his head fell against Jason's arm and soft snores could be heard coming from the youngster.
Jason stared longingly out the window, up and out into the stars, and a particular group of new stars twinkled and the form of a boy and a dragon could be seen, smiling down, watching over his friends.

Piper saw a dim glow coming from in her son's bedroom, and she went to turn it off, guessing Jason had also fallen asleep, and got ready to softly call for him as she approached the door.
"Jason?" She whispered, pushing open the door with a slight creak.
Her eyes softened at the sight; Jasper was snuggled into his father's side, his small arms curled around in an iron grip on the Jason's left arm, his face buried in his shirt. Jason was asleep as well, his strong and protective arms wrapped around the smaller boy, and soft snores came from both of them.
Piper smiled, and tip-toed up to the bed, pulling the covers over her two boys, kissing them both lightly on the forehead, to which Jasper smiled to, grumbling a bit.
But not before Piper left the room did she kiss a spot on her husbands cheek, the spot where a tear was slowly making it's way down his face. She looked to the stars, whispering,
"Goodnight, Leo."
