THALIA'S POV

"Yes!" Thalia cried as she ran to pack her stuff.

Lady Artemis had to go away for bit, so they were going to Camp Half Blood to stay. They hadn't been there in almost a year. I'll get to see Annabeth, Percy, Piper, Jason...but the person she was most excited to see was her best friend.

Nico di Angelo.

After the war they had found out that they both had a lot in common and become quite close.

"Alright, listen up hunters, lady Artemis has to go away for a bit, so we're going to Camp Half Blood!" Thalia cried. There were a lot of groans from the hunters. Camp Half Blood meant boys. They despised them.

Thalia cheerfully whistled as she waited outside for the others. Once everyone was ready, Artemis called, "Ok girls. Make sure you are on your best behaviour. So that means no boys. Bye girls."

And with that, the goddess was gone.

"Okay, let's go!" Thalia cried and they started to make their journey to camp.

The sun was setting by the time they reached Half Blood hill. They all stood, taking in the beautiful sight around them.

"THALIA!" A voice yelled and bowled her over.

"Annie!" she hugged her friend back.

Annabeth glared at her. "Don't you dare call me that!" Before she could say anything else, another person was calling to her.

"Pinecone Face!" Percy ran up to them and gave Thalia a hug.

"Kelp Head!"

Jason, Piper, Leo and a pretty girl came up to them.

"Hey, little sis!" Jason hugged her.

"Thals!" Piper hugged her.

When Thalia came to Leo, she said, "And who is this beautiful girl, Valdez?" Leo grinned.

"This is Calypso. Yup, THE Calypso." He casually put an arm around her. Calypso blushed.

"Woah. How did you get her?"

Leo started, "Well I-" Calypso stopped him. "Long story. But Leo rescued me."

Thalia smiled.

"I'm Thalia. Hunter of Artemis." They shook hands.

But Thalia still wasn't satisfied.

"This is great and all, but where's-" Then Thalia spotted him, lurking in the shadow of a tree nearby. He stepped out with a big grin on his face.

"Nico!" Thalia cried and ran to him. She hugged him.

"Woah, didn't think you'd miss me that much, Sparky." But he hugged back.

"In your dreams, Death Breath." They pulled away. Thalia sighed. Now she was happy.

"Um, just asking, but aren't hunters not allowed to date?" Calypso asked.

Nico and Thalia burst out laughing. Soon the others except for Calypso were laughing.

"We're not-"

"Why would I?" They said in fits of laughter.

Once they calmed down, Thalia said, "Yes. We're not allowed. But Nico and I aren't together."

"Nope. Just good friends."

Calypso was confused. "But I'm a goddess you know. I can feel emotions in the air. Are you sure?"

"Good friends." Thalia confirmed.

"Okay then..." Calypso was still confused. She could have swarn she felt love.

"Right. I better go tell Chiron we're here." Thalia said.

"See ya's later!" She called.

"Wait up Thals!" Nico cried.

NICO'S POV

"So, how ya been?"

Thalia asked me as we walked away from the Big House. "Found 'the one'?"

I thought, yeah, you.

But instead I said, "well... sort of. Not really. It's kind of complicated. Ya know, stuck in the friend zone."

"Aw, that sucks." Thalia said.

"Yeah. It sure does." I replied.

It was silent for a couple of minutes, until I blurted out, "I got this new horror movie."

Thank you Gods for giving me a big mouth.

Thalia looked at me. "And?"

"And...I was wondering if you wanted to watch it with me tomorrow night."

Thalia grinned. "I'd love to! See ya at the campfire!" She called and ran off to the hunters.

"Yes, yes, YES!" I yelled.

She said yes! She, Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, said YES! It wasn't a date but at least it was something.

"What are you so happy about Nico?"

Uh oh.

Jason and Percy.

"Nothing." I said.

"Come on, we saw you talking to Thalia and then she ran off, then you were all excited and stuff. Do you like my 'lil sis?"

I felt my face grow hot and I looked at the ground.

"Aw! that is sooo awesome!" Jason cried. "Thalico! Thalia and Nico sitting in a tree,"

Now Percy had joined in.

"K-I-S-S-I-N-G! first comes love, then comes marriage, here comes mmhh mmmhhh mmmhhh!"

I covered their mouths before anyone could hear.

"Do not tell a SOUL!" I hissed.

"Hey, it's cool man. We won't tell."

"Seaweed Brain!"

Annabeth called over from the lake.

"Uh, gotta go!" Percy raced off.

"Jason! Lola got stuck in a tree again!" Piper called.

"See ya!"

Jason ran off to where Piper was standing and a five year old was stuck in the tree. I chuckled. This was too good to be true.

-LINE BREAK-

The next night I didn't see any sign of Thalia at the dining pavilion. I didn't have much luck at the campfire later that night either. I didn't understand. Oh... She doesn't want to hang around me. But we were only just training together today? I walked up to Percy and the gang.

"Hey guys, any of you seen Thalia?"

"Nope." Leo said, popping the p.

"Oh, forget to tell you. She's sick. Got a fever and stuff." Jason explained.

A look of worry must have crossed my face cause he said, "Oh, but she'll be alright. Just a bit bored I think."

"Which cabin?" I asked.

Leo snickered.

I glared at him and he winced.

"Cabin one." Jason replied and him and percy gave eachother a smile.

"Okay... Bye." I said and before heading towards Zeus's cabin, I went by my cabin to grab my laptop and the horror movie.

When I reached cabin one, I lightly knocked on the door.

"Come in." A small voice croaked.

I walked in and saw Thalia laying on her usual bed.

"Hey."

I said quietly, kneeling next to her.

"How ya feeling?"

She sat up.

"Like I ate a giant, threw it up and ate it again." I laughed.

Thalia looked horrible.

Her face was pale and she shivered.

"Here."

I took off my aviator jacket and put it on her shoulders.

"Thanks." She said.

"What are friends for?" I said.

I put the back of my hand on her forehead to see if she had a temperature. She did.

"Thalia, you're boiling."

She layed down and sighed.

"I don't feel it. Nico, why did I have to get sick when we had plans? Now we can't watch the movie." I chuckled.

I brought out the laptop and dvd. "Ta-da!" I cried.

"Aw, thanks Death Breath." Thalia said.

I set it all up. "Where do you want to sit, bed or the floor?" I asked.

She patted the spot next to her. I got up and sat there. I was fully aware that I was only an inch away from Thalia. One time at a scary part she grabbed my hand. I blushed and she quickly let go.

After the movie, we sat there stunned.

"Well, that was creepy." I said to break the silence.

"Just a bit." Thalia said.

I felt Thalia's forehead again and my face went red. I wasn't sure, but I think she went red aswell.

Nah, I was imagining it.

"You're uh not as hot- I mean uh-"

Thalia laughed. "I know what you meant." I cleared my throat.

"Uh, I better get going." I said looking at the clock. Thalia looked disappointed.

"But, uh, I can um, stay if you, um want." I got out.

Thalia smiled. "Yes. Please."

I went and sat next to her bed. I held her hand. I felt happy. Wait, no! She's a hunter! n
Not happening...but she was just so cute-

"Nico? You okay?" Thalia's voice shook me out of my thoughts.

I shook my head. "Uh. yeah. Do you feel any better?"

"A lot thanks to you. Thanks." She said.

"What's the time?" I looked at the clock.

"Eight o'clock."

She looked at me.

"You should probably go before Jason-"

"Well well."

THALIA'S POV

Jason came in right at that moment.

"Uh hi?" I said.

Jason chuckled. "Better go, Chiron or Mr D'll catch ya!" Hr said to Nico.

"Jason! You big meany!" I said.

"Nico should be able to stay to keep me company! He's my best friend for the Gods of Olympus!"

Jason looked at me then to Nico.

"Right. Anyway, you better get going!" He said.

"Okay! See ya Sparky. Hope you get better." Nico said and kissed me on the cheek.

Once he was out, I layed on my bed and sighed.

From the bathroom, Jason laughed.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"Nothing. Nothing."

But he was holding back his laughter.

"Jason Grace, what in hades is so funny?" I demanded.

"You and Nico. It's like a fairy tale or one of those fangiction thingies. You both are falling hopelessly for eachother!" He said dramatically.

I shot up. "What? Did you just say that Nico loves me? Yeah right. He wouldn't. There are much better girls out there! And I don't like him! Well I do as a friend, but-what?!"

Jason was laughing again. "Exactly! You don't like him, you loooove him!" He said in sing song voice.

I groaned and threw a pillow at him.

"Whatever Jason." I got my pajamas on and cleaned my teeth. I climbed into bed.

"Night Jason." I said.

"Goodnight, 'lil sis who is hopelessly in loooove!" He replied.

I groaned and rolled over. Soon I fell into a deep sleep. And of course, that meant dreams.

I was fighting Gaea. Yes, by myself. I heard a scream. It sounded like Nico. I looked in the direction of the scream. It was Nico. He was laying there, trying to reach for his sword. A Cyclopes was standing over him with a sword, ready to stab him. Nico looked at me. Then the Cyclopes stabbed him. I screamed and ran over to him. His shirt was already soaked from his blood. "No, no. Nico stay with me." I held his head. I stared at him. A tear rolled down my cheek. Then more came, like a flood. Nico smiled at me and closed his eyes. I screamed.

I sat up straight. I was covered in sweat and I had been crying. I looked over to Jason.

Still asleep.

I ran out of the cabin. I headed straight for his cabin, tears running down my face. I knocked on the door frantically. As soon as he opened the door I jumped into his arms.

"Thals-ssh, ssh. It's okay." He said softly, while I sobbed into his chest.

We stayed like that for a while, on the front steps of his cabin. Soon I fell asleep in his arms.

NICO'S POV

I had no idea what was wrong.

But I held her anyway. Might've been a nightmare. But why didn't she just tell Jason?

Speak of the devil.

"Hey." I said as I saw him run up to us.

"Have you seen-oh." He said as he just noticed Thalia in my arms.

"Do you know what happened?" I asked him.

"Nope. No idea. I just woke up and she wasn't there. I guessed she might've gone to the beach. Then I thought the woods. But she knows not to go there. I was just walking by, and here I am."

He stared at us for second and sat next to me.

"She loves you ya know." Jason said.

I stared at him. "Is this some kind of prank, Grace? Cause if it is, it ain't-"

"I'm being serious. She loves hanging around you, and always has a smile on her face when she comes to the cabin at night after hanging around you. She gets really happy. She also doesn't stop talking about you."

I looked at him. "But she's a hunter." I said sadly.

"Just because she's a hunter, it doesn't mean she can't have crushes."

We sat in silence for a bit. I looked at Thalia.

She looked so peaceful. I got the hair out of her face and sighed. I was very aware of Jason looking at me from the corner of my eye.

"What are we going to do with her then?" I asked.

Jason shrugged.

"Let's ask her."

"No," I said. "She needs it."

Jason nodded.

"Do you think she would be more comfortable in our cabin or yours?" I blushed.

"Uh... I don't know. Maybe put her in your cabin."

"okay."

I got up, with Thalia in my arms bridal style. We walked back to their cabin. I kicked open the door and went over to her bed.

But when I put her down, she acted like a little kid who was half asleep and wanted their teddy back. She had her arms out, as if searching for something. I sat down next to her let her rest on my chest. She smiled.

I looked at Jason who was watching with a look of amusement.

He shrugged and whispered, "Just get up early and I won't tell anyone."

"Thanks." I replied quietly. I got under the covers and thalia snuggled into my chest. I pulled her in close. I thought about what Jason had said. Did she really love me? I doubt it.

THALIA'S POV

I went to hug the warm body beside me, but there was nothing and I fell off the edge.

"Ugh." I sat up, rubbing my head. That was a nice wake up call.

Then I heard Jason laugh. He was standing in the doorway.

"Oh, little sis, you're funny when you're in love!"

In a flash I had an arrow pointed to his throat.

"Stop saying I love Nico di Angelo!" I growled.

But he just laughed. "I didn't say who! What was last night about anyway? Why did you go to Nico when you could have come to me?"

Oh. I had another one. It was pure horror. I had to kill everyone I loved. I had to stab them. I looked down at the ground and my arms went limp. That horrible dream. Tears started falling.

"Thalia?" Jason asked. "Come 'ere." He said and opened up his arms to hug me.

But I pushed away. I could only get comfort from my best friend.

I ran to the dining pavilion. I saw him, sitting alone at his table, picking at his food. I ran straight over to his table and hugged him like he was my life force.

"Thalia? What are you doing here? I thought you were asleep?" I cried, not caring about the stares from the leftover campers and glares from the hunters.

"nightmares-I thought you were...dead!" I choked out.

Jason had come by now and was as confused as ever. Like I said, I didn't care. At least now I knew Nico was alive. Now I don't want let him go.

Okay...That just sounded like a love story you see on those fanfictions. Anyway, back to present.

"Thalia." Nico said in a soft voice, like he was encouraging an animal out of a cage. I took my head out of Nico's chest and turned it around. I still had my arms around him though.

Jason knelt next to me. He wiped the tears of my face.

"It's okay, Thals. Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned it." He said.

"Mentioned what?" A screechy voice said.

Oh, gods! I hate Stephanie! She's the mean one of the hunters. Sometimes I wonder what Artemis sees in her.

Jason looked at her and got up. he looked her in the eye and said, "None of your business."

She stared at him then turned to me. I couldn't see her, but I could clearly hear her.

"None of my business, huh? Well it is! Thalia Grace, Lieutenant of Artemis is clearly in love with this stupid, stupid runt of a hades kid!"

At that I shot up. I punched her, in the nose. I heard a satisfying crack.

"Don't you EVER call Nico that!" I hissed.

I pushed her up against one of the columns.

"Don't you DARE! I don't care what everyone else thinks! To me he's...perfect."

When I said perfect, I said it quietly. I let go of her and turned around. Uh oh. There was a crowd. And a lot of them were hunters.

NICO'S POV

One minute I was eating my breakfast. The next I was holding Thalia.

"Thalia?" I said, confused. "What are you doing here? I thought you were asleep?"

She cried and managed to choke out, "Nightmares-I thought you were.... dead!"

I just held her close and saw Jason come up to us. He looked at me quizzically. I just shrugged.

"Thalia." I said as soft as I could.

She turned her head around. Jason knelt next to her and wiped her tears away.

"it's okay, Thals. Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned it."

Then I heard a horrible voice. "Mention what?" I looked at her.

Gods, she was ugly. She had perfect blonde hair and dull brown eyes. Her face was caked in makeup.

Jason stood up and said to the girl firmly, "None of your business."

The girl laughed. "None of my business, huh? Well it is! Thalia Grace, Lieutenant of Artemis, is clearly in love with this stupid, stupid runt of a Hades kid!"

Okay, that kinda hurt.

Thalia shot up out of my arms. And before I could stop her, she punched the girl in the nose. I think I even heard it crack.

"Don't you EVER call Nico that!" She said. Wait. She stood up for me?!

"Don't you DARE!" She went on.

"I don't care what everyone else thinks! To me he's...." Thalia paused. Then she said, "Perfect."

She turned around, only just realising that she'd made a scene.

"Uh...." she said.

I gaped at her. "Is that true?" I asked, finally able to speak.

She stared at me.

Before she could say anything, Jason piped up cheerfully, "Yes it is! Yes it is!"

Thalia glared at him. Then I looked at the crowd properly.

Oh.

Oh. Most of them were hunters. Right. Uh oh...what have I gotten Thalia into? She'll be kicked out of the hunters for sure! I have to do something... so I came to a decision.

I hugged Thalia and said, "Sorry."

Then I shadow traveled away.
