What-if: The Trailblazers & The Hunters (2)
I will be using Stelle here as the Trailblazer
I am originally planning to put "y/n", but decided to just use Stelle. So for now, you, reader/s, is/are Stelle.

What if Dan Heng ended up with the Stellaron Hunters and Blade ended up with the Nameless?

"You think she'll be fine?" A short grey-haired girl asked the maroon-haired tall woman.
The former blowed a bubblegum then it popped. "Will her actions really follow Elio's script? What do you think, Kafka?" She turned to the maroon haired woman as they entered their lair-a place they call home.
Kafka-maroon haired-simply smiled. "Well, Silverwolf, we are Destiny's slaves. It's already pre-determined." What a vague answer.
As they entered, they saw their black-haired friend sitting on couch, reading a book.
"Oh, Dan Heng. I never expected you to come out of your room-the only time you come out is for a mission." Kafka raised her brows from seeing the young man unusually out of his room.
Dan Heng was oftenly locked up in his room, just staying there either reading, researching or sleeping. He barely comes out unless he needs to. But despite all that, he is close to everyone in the Stellaron Hunters.
He was found both by Kafka and SAM, during the two's mission. Seeing them in trouble-though, Kafka claimed that they're not-he swoop in and single handedly eliminated the star-swallowing beast. It was during that time that he was being chased by a person that he refers to as a beast as well.
In return of saving them, Kafka offered refuge and an invitation to join the Stellaron Hunters. Joining the group also comes with the benefit that he will be protected from the madman who pursues him nonstop. Though, that madman had long stop, but Dan Heng can sense that the person still lingers in the shadows-waiting for the perfect chance.
Dan Heng closed the book then moved his eyes to Kafka and Silverwolf. "I was gonna ask how the mission went."
"It went pleasantly well. By now, she should be with the Astral Express." Kafka answered as she sat on the other small couch that was the opposite of the sofa that Dan Heng is sitting on.
"I still don't understand. Why did Elio say that it's better if she joins the Nameless and not the Stellaron Hunters?" Dan Heng asked.
Kafka shrugged. "That's what I don't know. But no matter what we do, she was meant to be a Trailblazer-that's what Elio believes in. We just got to wait and see."

Joining the Express and becoming a Nameless...
It was something that Stelle didn't expect. Either way, she said yes. And from this day on, she became a fully fledged Trailblazer.
Aboard the Express, she met an odd creature that goes by the name Pom Pom.
Pom Pom was a big rabbit, round and adorable. They have black fur and white spot for the face. Moreover, they look absolutely cute in the red uniform. They are the conductor of the train, someone that was already on the train when Himeko found it.
Stelle noted to herself that Pom Pom is somehow strict, but adorable and friendly. They are someone that she can rely on. She also believed that Pom Pom isn't someone to be messed with-probably a bit of teasing, but fighting? Yeah, no.
She was advised by Pom Pom to have a look around before the jump happens. She was told where the rooms are-specifically, Blade's & March's. So she wasted no time and explored.
The first room that she found was Blade's. According to Pom Pom, his room is the first one to be found when you enter the passenger cabin. The Archives room.
She stood before the closed room, and took one step closer to knock. But before she can even make another sound, a voice from the other side of the door.
"If you're March, go away. If you're someone else, then state who you are, then I'll decide if you can come in."
Stelle flinched when she heard Blade's words. "But...I haven't knocked yet." She spoke.
Silence. Then...
"Stelle?" It was like a hesitant call from Blade. "Fine, come in." The door opened, letting Stelle in to his private chambers.
"How did you know I was outside your door?" She asked as she looked over to Blade who is by the bookshelf, polishing his sword.
"After a certain someone barged in here while I was changing, I've learned to sense if someone's outside my door." A brief answer from Blade's lip as he didn't bother looking at her.
The girl looked around. The room was filled with books, tons of them. Her eyes wandered each area-it felt like a cozy library. But there was one thing that Stelle noticed-there was no bed. Where does Blade sleep then?
"Where's your bed?" She asked.
"Don't have one."
"Where do you sleep then?"
"I don't sleep."
"Oh..." Stelle stopped questioning and simply looked at each shelf, checking each book out. She wonders if Blade spends his sleepless night with reading.
Blade can feel that Stelle is wandering around his room. And while he didn't like it, but he didn't hate it either. He simply stopped cleaning his sword, then watched her watch around the room.
Silence again.
Blade debated to himself on whether he should listen to Mr. Welt and try to make friends-even though it will be annoying for him.
"Do you have a room to sleep in?" After a few debates in his mind, Blade decided to give befriending a shot.
Stelle shook her head.
"Then you can sleep here temporarily 'til you have a room. I don't mind-as long as you don't touch my stuff." Blade said as he turned away, and went back to cleaning his sword.
"It won't be a bother?" She asked again.
"It will be a bother if you keep asking questions." Blade said, which was enough for Stelle to shut her mouth. "Sleeping bags are located by the cabinet on the right. The sleeping cushions are found in the room at the end of the hall. Keep it neat."
"Yes. Thank you." Stelle nodded her head and smiled out of politeness.
She headed to door, about to exit his room. And before she can step out, Blade called her name.
"Stelle."
"Yeah?"
Without batting an eye to her, Blade spoke. "Welcome to the Express."
"Thank you!" Stelle sounded a bit more enthusiastic there and then left.
As soon as the girl left, Blade sighed in disbelief. Now he has a roommate-much to his dismay but this is what he chose. A small smile then crept up to his lips.
Minutes later, the jump will soon happen. Blade stayed in his room, locking the door of the Passenger Cabin, and just as he was about to lock his door, someone kicked it.
"Uhm, Blade?"
Oh, it's Stelle.
Blade opened the door, revealing Stelle holding a sleeping cushion and some pillows. Oh right, he let her sleep here.
"You know that the jump is gonna start soon, right?" He had to make sure that the newbie knows it.
When he found out that Stelle will be joining them, his first reaction was: Dislike. It's not like he hates her or anything, he's just not comfortable...yet. He has no clue what bumped Himeko's mind that she invited Stelle to join.
Literally, among all the people they met before, Himeko chose to invite Stelle. Well, Stelle isn't that bad in his opinion-so he might as well just accept it.
"Uhm...I thought I should start making my bed." Stelle reasoned as she sheepishly smiled.
Blade is now regretting his decision of letting Stelle share his room. But too late to take it back. Well...this room was given to him for resting-he is resting but not in the way they all do-so with Stelle sleeping here for awhile, atleast the room had fulfilled its purpose.
He sighed as he stepped out of her way and let her in. "Hurry it up." He briefly said as he walked back to the shelves and skimmed through the newly-added information in the Archives. He didn't even bother taking the pillows and cushion to help her.
"Whatever. She can handle it." He thought.
Stelle walked inside while carrying the cushion and pillows. However, the train did a little shake which caused her to tumble and fall down to the floor-the pillows, blankets and cushion went flying as it all landed either on her or on the floor.
Blade just stood there and watched it all unfold. His menancing gaze was cold as he looked down on Stelle as if she was a peasant and he's a nobleman.
That little shake was the preparation of the train to jump. Blade was used to that shake by now that's why he didn't tumble, roll, and fall like Stelle.
"Just go and find a spot at the other cabin, sit still there. I'll handle it from here." He said as he coldly looked away.
Stelle stood up and wobbled a bit before she regained composure. "Thank you." She said as she looked at Blade with a small smile-but since Blade has his back on her, he didn't see that.
She walked out of the room. And as soon as Blade heard the door close, his body started shaking. He placed his hand over his mouth, and some tears are forming on the corner of his eyes.
"No...at all costs, you must not laugh." He strictly reprimanded himself in mind.
He told himself that he should not react to seeing Stelle clumsily tumbling infront of him-even though it did humor him.
"Damn..." He mumbled to himself, "I kinda wanna see her fall over again."
Seeing Stelle tumble was funnier than watching March fall over. More entertaining. He had a difficult time to hold his laughter so he just simply glared down at Stelle.
Either way, Blade did his word-he made the bed for the poor little Stelle. He made sure to place it in a corner that's far from his meditating spot.
Speaking of meditation, he thinks that Stelle won't disturb him during those times-as long as she doesn't bring March in his room. Let's just say, he placed a temporary ban on March from entering his room.
As soon as he was finished, that was when the jump began. He exited his room and looked out to the window, seeing a big white snowball which is called to be a planet-Jarilo VI.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, it felt like deja vu, as if he had seen this planet before but it looked different.
"That's Jarilo-VI. Isn't it beautiful, Little Yingxing? It's like one big giant snowball!"
"Please don't call me 'Little Yingxing'."
"Hehe! You know, the planet didn't used to be like this. Something happened here. I wish to investigate on it, but I sadly can't at this moment due to the problems in Xianzhou."
"You can temporarily stop by and see if you can fix it. I'll tell Jingliu for you about it."
"No need. As soon as we fixed the problems in Luofu, I'll surely come back here. Jarilo-VI is now part of my compass, so I will find my way back to this planet, and I'll help in restoring its former beauty."
"Blade, hey! Bladie?"
A hand waved over Blade's vision, and March's voice pulled him out of his trance.
What was that? A memory from the past...a daydream? He was aboard a spaceship, someone's spaceship. And with her was a girl with lavender hair, and furry ears protruding out of her head. It seemed like he went traveling with her. What was her name again?
Well, no time to ponder on it is what he thought.
Blade looked over to March, and his eyes had began playing tricks on him. He saw that same girl from his daydream. He blinked his eyes, finally seeing March again.
Along with March was Stelle whom stood behind her. He can only guess that Himeko sent the three of them down to Jarilo-VI to investigate on the matter.
"Himeko wants us three to go down there for this trailblazing expedition." March said. "She said we're going find the Stellaron."
Knew it...
Blade nodded. Suddenly, a throbbing feeling hit his head, his body trembled slightly. That feeling, so familiar...and so hated by him.
"You two go down first. I'll catch up." Blade said.
March placed her hand on her hip, and arched her brow in confusion. It seemed like she had no idea what exactly is happening to Blade as of this moment-let alone, she didn't even know what's inside Blade.
Regardless of having no knowledge, March tried her best not to pry in Blade's life. She decided to just wait and let him say his story on his own time.
She shrugged. "Okay then!" She said, "You better not be making an excuse and slack off." She added in a reprimanding tone then walked away as she gestured a let's go to Stelle.
Stelle turned around but before taking a step, she took one more look at Blade. Concerned, curious and worried was all over her face. Then again, March told her beforehand on not to pry much on Blade-so Stelle simply walked away without a word.
As soon as the two girls left, Blade immediately went to search for Welt. He found the old man gazing out the window and he can tell that Welt was worried with the fact that it's just him, Stelle and March going down.
"Mr. Welt." He called, pulling the attention of the Hersscher.
Welt looked over to him, and let out a hum. He took out his cane, and bumped it on Blade's head-as if he knew what the black haired man will say. From that point on, the pain that Blade felt disappeared, and the monster in him silenced. "Are you okay now?" He asked him.
Blade immediately shook his head. "I mean, my mara is now in-check. But, why did you agree with Himeko's decision?" He asked, "You of all people, Mr. Welt, should know that leaving me alone in a trailblazing escapade that can take for days is a bad idea."
"Himeko said that it's time to give the youngsters a chance to shine. Though, I won't really call you young-perhaps, young in appearance." Welt replied. That didn't really answer Blade's question.
"If my mara flares up, then I might end up killing the-"
"It won't. Himeko and I have our full trust that you can control yourself with or without my help." Welt quickly cut Blade off, "Blade, it's time you put trust into yourself as well. Just remember the methods I taught you."
Blade huffed. But without a choice, he went down and followed March & Stelle.
He doesn't necessarily trust that he can hold his own without help, without killing someone, without being viewed as a monster.
"Of five people, three must pay a price."
A voice of a woman rang in his ears.
"Quick, Yingxing! Help me. We must revive her!"
No, not now.
He quickly erased it all in his mind and just focused on the mission at hand: Find the Stellaron.
"Baiheng..." He whispered as he gazed ahead, seeing the same lavender haired girl with fox ears.
"Baiheng? Who's that?" March's voice awoke him from his trance.
Blade closed his eyes tight then opened them, now seeing Stelle instead of the lavender-haired fox girl.
He shook his head. He scolded himself for having his mind flying around and mentioning a name that he didn't even know-well, the name did sound familiar.
"No one. Let's go." He said as he walked passed the two girls.
---
"Of five people, three must pay a price. You are one of them."
Dan Heng immediately bursted his eyes open as he sat up quickly. He panted, catching his breath as if he just ran a marathon.
"No...please stop..." He mumbled to himself.
"Listen. Calm." A dominating voice took over him-it echoed in his mind until it faded.
He was calm now, no longer remembering that monstrous nightmare. "Thank you, Kafka. But what are you doing in my room?"
He turned his head to the woman who stood beside his bed.
"I was just checking on you." Kafka replied, "After all, I did promise you also that I will look after you and help you forget your nightmares."
Dan Heng brought his knees to his chest, then buried his head there. "Why can't you just erase all of my memories?"
Kafka sat down beside him and gently patted his head. "I can't. It's not what's written in Elio's script-and even if I did, some of your memories will run right back to you."
"You did for her." Dan Heng muttered.
"Hm, her? I didn't erase all of her memories. I kept some about me-erasing all her memories might not be in my field." Kafka replied as her hand ran from Dan Heng's head to his nape in a soothing and motherly manner.
She still had a gentle smile on her face. "Hush now, child. You're like a baby." She commented.
Dan Heng immediately swatted her hand away the lied back down as he faced the other way and brought his blanket over his head. "I'm good now. You can go."
Kafka sighed. "Alright then. Call if you need help." Then she left.
The nightmare Dan Heng had can be erased easily. But not his memories-the memories in the cold cellar, the mad man chasing after him, and more. For now, he's fine with just erasing nightmares.
