What-if: The Trailblazers & The Hunters (1)
I will be using Stelle here as the Trailblazer
I am originally planning to put "y/n", but decided to just use Stelle. So for now, you, reader/s, is/are Stelle.

What if Dan Heng ended up with the Stellaron Hunters and Blade ended up with the Nameless?
~~~
"She's dead."
"Dead already? You didn't even bother checking her heartbeat."
"Must I? Fine."
It was all pitch black. Two distinct voices can be heard within the darkness—one was a female high pitch and the other was a male voice, low & somehow husky.
"Weak heartbeat and pulse. March, do you know how to do CPR?"
"Huh?! Hehe, but I never done it before. Blade, you do it."
Her honey caramel eyes fluttered open, and the first thing her eyes saw a face of a man leaning closer to her as if he was about to kiss her—more like, perform the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
"Blade, wait! She's awa-" Before the man's companion finished her words, the man called Blade already had his lips in contact with unknown girl's lips.
The lip contact caused her to flinch for a bit. And that flinch made Blade pull away, then wiped his mouth. "Why didn't you tell me she was awake?" He turned his gaze to the pink haired girl. His red eyes narrowed, expressing his annoyance that his pink-haired companion—March—didn't even tell him that the unconscious is no longer unconscious.
"I tried telling you but you dove right in for the kiss-...I mean, CPR." March explained sheepishly, even sweating just from Blade's cold glare.
March cleared her throat as she turned to the newly-awoke person. An attempt to change the subject.
The silverdust gray hair cascaded down the person's back, her honey caramel eyes wandering around the room and trying to make out of her memories.
Where was she? That was the question she asked herself. She barely remembered what happened before she got her—no, she doesn't even remember except one maroon-haired person. What was that person's name again? Coffee? Coca? Kaf? Yes, she remembered the name now. Kafka. But that's all she can recall—the name.
"Hey! Are you alright?" March's voice pulled her out of her train of thought, "Can you hear me? Do you remember your name?" She asked a series of question.
Her name. Turns out, there is one more thing the silver-haired girl remembers—she still remembers her name.
"I'm...Stelle." She replied.
March immediately beamed a smile. "Nice to meet you. I'm March 7th, and this is Blade. We're from the Astral Express!" The pinkette gladly introduced herself, even taking the privilege to introduce her companion.
Blade didn't appreciate that March introduced him. Why bother knowing this girl? They're just gonna part ways, leave the Space Station, and probably—hopefully—never return.
Stelle raised a brow. She found Blade's name oddly peculiar. Who names their child Blade?
The question was expressed on her face and didn't go unnoticed by March. "He doesn't remember his name. So the name 'Blade' was given by-"
"No need to tell me my story." Blade interrupted March, not wanting more about himself to be blurted out. He turned to Stelle, his red eyes piercing through her honey ones. "Anyways, what are you doing here? Are you a researcher here? A visitor from somewhere else? You shouldn't be here. Everyone else had already evacuated the area due to the Antimatter Legion."
Stelle tilted her head to the side. "Antimatter Legion?"
"A group led by the Lord Ravager—an Emanator, someone following the Path of Destruction." Blade was kind enough to explain about it—well, tried to be kind enough. His voice was still laced with coldness and poison.
"And the...Astral Express?" Stelle hesitantly mentioned the name that March said before.
"A train that travels through space." Again, Blade briefly explained it. Well, his explanation is right somehow.
"It is the home of the Nameless. Blade and I are part of the Nameless! Trailblazers venturing through the cosmos of the universe, learning and unlocking secrets, meeting new friends. That's the way of the trailblazer!" March proudly explained whilst Blade simply shrugged on the matter.
It was clear that Blade didn't like anymore of the small talk—not really of a small talk though. With that, he cut the conversation short. "March, take her to the evacuation area with everyone else. I'll handle looking for Arlan." He said.
"Are you sure? We can-"
"Just go." Blade once again coldly cut off March.
The pinkette pouted and rolled her eyes. "Fine!" She whined. Blade was only...not Blade when Mr. Yang is around. March can only surmise that the "beast"—something Blade would describe—in himself must be acting up.
"March." Before Blade left, his cold gaze slightly faltered and turned a bit warm. "Stay safe."
"Aww! You do care." March didn't waste the opportunity to tease him. To which Blade simply huffed and rolled his eyes, then left.
As soon as the man left, March then began leading Stelle to the evacuation area. Of course, heading there is not safe, there were still enemies lurking around.
To ensure safety, a baseball bat—which March described to be a curio—was given to Stelle for additional protection. And somehow, the silver-haired girl clicked quickly with the weapon.
Along the way, March shared a few things about the Nameless. And even shared the history behind Blade's name.
"Blade joined the Nameless before I did. He's not much of a chatter, so I just heard the story about his name from Himeko." March narrated as she walked through the empty halls of the Space Station. "According to Himeko, Blade doesn't remember his name—actually, he doesn't remember alot about his past. So when she and Mr. Yang found him, Himeko invited him to join the Express and named him 'Blade' which is based from his sword."
Stelle found the history of Blade's name interesting. She can also see some similarities between them—not remembering a detail about their past.
They've arrived at the elevator. March punched in the buttons, only to find that it's not working.
"Oh great..." She mumbled in sarcasm.
"It's broken?"
"Yeah. The monsters around here must've broke it. If only Blade is here, he knows a lot of things—maybe an elevator repair." March said, "Though, if he feels lazy, I think he'll just break through the elevator and bring us to the Master Control Zone, himself."
"I'm not reckless like you." A familiar cold voice spoke. It was Blade. He was not fond with March's comment.
The man explained that the elevator is not broken. It just needs to activated. He stated that Arlan might know how to, but the mentioned man was injured.
"Then...why are you here? Shouldn't you be helping Arlan?" March asked, arching a brow.
"Looking for you."
"Aww! Bladie, I didn't know you'd miss-"
"So he can use you as a crutch instead of me." Once again, Blade coldly cut off whatever March will say. And his words are something to be expected by March—why did she think that the word 'miss' exists in Blade's vocabulary?
"Of course you don't miss me..." March mumbled, giving a dumbfounded look. She thought she found an opportunity to tease him.
The three—Stelle, March and Blade immediately headed to where Arlan is. But considering there were still enemies lurking, they will have to sneak around quietly to avoid a fight.
Blade explained the plan along the way. Arlan activates the elevator, all four of them head to the Master Control Zone and Arlan will shut the elevator down from there.
It's quite convenient with Blade around. He often plans things ahead so there isn't much need to worry. The only reason for one to worry is if Blade 'acts up', that's when one can worry.
After activating the elevator, the four headed to the elevator; Blade taking the front, March guarding the back, and Stelle with Arlan holding on to her in the middle.
The place was quiet. Too quiet for one's liking.
"We've reached the elevator already. There aren't any monsters, that wasn't too hard at all." March stated.
In Blade's honest opinion, March shouldn't have said that.
The pinkette seemed to pick up the mental opinion Blade has of her. "Probably shouldn't say that. It might bring bad luck." She said, scratching the back of her head.
Blade scoffed. He mumbled that it was already too late and that March had probably jinxed it already. And he was right.
A shot of an arrow flew at them. Blade quickly drew out his sword, parrying the arrow away from them and throwing it off course. The point of the arrow grazed his arm and tore the bandaged wrapped around it.
Blade watched as red fluid flowed out of his skin, and slowly, the bleeding stopped and his flesh healed. The wound closed, the scar fading, as if it wasn't there.
Stelle had spotted this weird regeneration from Blade. She wondered if the man had Abundance powers or stuff.
"Tch..." Blade clicked his tongue as he prepared himself for battle—also in annoyance. It took him hours to put a bandaged on himself and only ended up with it getting torn easily.
All their eyes looked up, seeing a four-legged monster trampling around along with other monsters. Stelle asked herself: Is that a horse? I wonder if I can ride it like a horse?
The three fought the appeared monsters, while also protected Arlan. But as soon as they finished the enemies off, a new batch appeared right after, surrounding them like prey.
"Hey! No fair." March whined, pointing her bow and arrow everywhere.
Blade took the initiative and stepped infront of March, while also with the others behind him as well—acting like a guard and protector. Between all four of them, he believed that he stands the most chance to deal with all of them swiftly. It wasn't just because of his strength & prowess, but it was also because no one can kill him.
Just then, a machine with a huge cutter came flying in. It whirred, spinning around and hitting each monster—easily wiping it out.
"Himeko!" March gasped enthusiastically.
Just who is this Himeko that she owns a huge pizza cutter? Something that Stelle asked herself.
Seeing that the way to the elevator is cleared, Blade immediately acted. "Get to the elevator, now!"
As March, Stelle and Arlan scrambled to the elevator, Blade followed behind. He made sure no monster will reach them nor follow them.
He raised his sword, cutting his arm then swinging it to the monsters who still have the strength to chase after them. In one sweep, the monsters were eliminated, and Blade hopped on the elevator.
The ride was quick. As soon as they arrived at the Master Control Zone, Arlan shut the elevator down just like planned.
March breathed a sigh of relief. "That was close!" She wiped off the sweat on her head.
Even Stelle huffed a breath, panting and wiping some sweat off. Her eyes then moved over to Blade whose arm is bleeding—it seemed to be healing a bit slower than the graze from earlier. The blood dripped down from his arm to his hand, dirtying the sleeve of his button-up shirt.
Her fixated gaze on the wound was immediately noticed by Blade. He raised his hand—the one with the bleeding arm—and spoke, "If you're gonna ask, it's fine. It will heal."
"Like how the graze on your arm healed earlier?" Stelle straight up asked innocently.
Instead of answering, Blade simply looked away from Stelle and kept quiet. He did let out a hum, but the silverdust haired girl cannot comprehend whether that was an answer of affirmation, negation or annoyance.
Time had passed and Stelle already has the gist of what's happening, also met new people like Himeko, Asta, Herta and other researchers. The Space Station was attacked at the same time she woke up—the attack was led by the Antimatter Legion, a group that follows Nanook, Aeon of Destruction. She also heard of some unfamiliar names, like the Doomsday Beast and the Lord Ravager whom was called to be an Emanator.
Stelle had also come to know furthermore about herself. A dangerous fragment lying inside her, the one that they all call the Cancer—a Stellaron. Himeko and Asta have a reason to believe, that while the Antimatter Legion's goal of the attack is unclear, they assume that it has something to do with the Stellaron inside her.
"You and Blade have some similarities." March commented. "Well, I don't know what is exactly inside him. All he said that it's something dangerous, and he often seeks help from Mr. Yang and Himeko to silence it."
Stelle had thought that Blade also has a Stellaron inside him. Could it be that whatever is inside the man is the cause of his skill to regenerate & heal?
She gazed at Blade who stood at the far corner. The said man was embracing his sword, his eyes closed, and looked relaxed but she can sense that his guard is still up. It was clear that Blade doesn't like to be surrounded with a lot of people.
The alarms suddenly blared. A screen pops up, showing a warning sign.
Just from that sound, Blade immediately propped up in a stance—battle ready. This also alarmed Stelle, March and Himeko.
Asta had told the other researchers to not panic and prepare for another round of evacuation. Whilst Himeko told March and Blade to follow her to the Railway Platform in order to meet Mr. Yang and the Astral Express.
Stelle was ready to evacuate along with the other researchers. But before she can take another step, Himeko had invited her to come with them and help. Such an offer sounded ridiculous for Stelle—just how she can be of help?
She was ready to refuse but...
"Just come. But don't get in the way." Blade must have a habit of interrupting people.
With no other choice, Stelle followed.
They reached the Railway Platform minutes later. Time sure runs fast in catastrophes. And oh boy, March seemed to be the fastest runner cause she went ahead right away. Her being in a hurry and a fast made her unaware of her surroundings—thank goodness Blade was opposite. He's fast but he's aware.
"March, wait!" Blade called out to the girl.
He grabbed her arm, pulling her back which made March yelp. She looked up and saw the Doomsday Beast. A ferocious enormous creature.
"The Doomsday Beast...it's really here." She mumbled, showing a slight expression of fear.
The beast landed near the railway, where they were supposed to go through to get to the Express. It roared, shaking the entire Space Station akin to an earthquake.
Stelle swallowed a lump in her throat. Either way, they need to fight this thing before it destroys the station and gobbles it up like food.
An intense battle between a huge creature who seemed to be a man of hundreds, versus four people.
She would swing her bat; running, ducking, dodging—anything to stay alive and finish the humungous monster. She wondered how can they defeat such a monster?
"Aim for the Engine." A voice next her ear spoke while they ran. She turned her head and widened her eyes when it was Blade.
The man was looking ahead. His eyes were glued on the Doomsday beast, as if he was piercing the monster with his own gaze. He then pointed at a huge purplish black ball located near the center of the monster, "That's the engine. If we destroy it, it will weaken this beast."
"And you're telling me this...why?" Stelle asked. Of all people he can tell this to, he chose to tell her.
Blade narrowed his eyes, and groaned. "Your abilities are of the Destruction. I can tell." He briefly explained. Once again, he cut his arm which caused more bleeding.
This became concerning for Stelle. Will cutting his arm do any good?
"Come on, kid. March will watch our backs. Himeko will handle those hands." He said.
Kid...
Why does Blade have to call her that? Like a child?
But like Blade said, March did cover their backs, and Himeko took care of the hands. She provided the defense they needed as Blade & Stelle charged right in to the ball called Engine.
With one swing of the sword and bat, the engine was destroyed and the Doomsday beast was weakened & destroyed.
But just as they thought everything was good, the Doomsday Beast released one more attack before vanishing.
A red beam-like, one where anyone who touches will either melt or be shred to pieces. It headed straight for March without any consideration.
"March!" Himeko called out in a worried tone. With the distance between her and March, she can never make it in time to save her.
Blade, however, quickly moved in front of March to take the attack. Can he take it? Of course he can. His body can take it. After all, no matter what he does, death can and will never reach him. He might be 'dead' for a few minutes, but he will wake up and be alive—as if he just gotten a long sleep.
But maybe, the Doomsday Beast can kill him.
Just as when he braced himself for the attack, Stelle jumped right in to take it. She stood infront of Blade and March, keeping her stance as she welcomes the deadly attack.
"Fool!" Blade screamed in his mind. He actually thought that Stelle isn't someone stupid, but seeing how she just jumped infront to take the attack even though she knows that she'll die from it—he took back every good thing he thought of her.
Stelle can't take it. Blade was convinced that the girl they just 'saved' will die right away. And it was all because of her own stupidity.
But for some odd reason, the Stellaron that was inside Stelle had saved her. It covered the attack, but it came with a great price.
Dozens of fragments, pictures, voices, faces, and more flashed before Stelle's eyes and rung on her ears. It was all jumbled up.
These memories, or are these what you call memories? Stelle wasn't sure herself either.
She felt like floating through space, flying in one direction as if she's being pulled in by a mysterious force.
There was one voice, though. A voice so familiar.
"When you have a change to make a choice, make one that you know you won't regret."
Honey gold caramel eyes, much like hers—except, they were cold, vile, vicious, deadly. The eyes glowed with such superiority as it gazed to her own honey gold caramel eyes. The eyes of Nanook.
Stelle whimpered and groaned as her body shone. It hurted alot. It felt like she's gonna explode. But before even doing so, a bump to her head stopped her right away and knocked her out.
"Mr. Yang!" March gasped seeing the old brown-haired man appeared.
"Mr. Welt..." That was all what Blade can mutter.
The said man stood upright and with strong composure as he put his cane down—Welt Yang. With the use of his cane, he was able to stop Stelle and the Stellaron inside her.
Stelle fell back down. Before her body can hit the floor, March had already swoop in to gently catch her. "Will she be okay?" That's what March firstly asked.
"She will be. But for now, let's see to it that everyone else is also okay." Welt replied. His gaze moved over to Blade. The latter simply glanced at the unconscious Stelle, to then to Welt, then to anything else that's not a person.
That look on Welt's face, Blade knew that all too well. So without a word, he walked to a secluded area with Welt following him behind.
After making sure it's just the two of them, Blade dropped his shoulders—a sign that he had no dropped his guard.
"How is your mara?" That was the first thing that Welt asked. His tone was gentle, and concerning. It was a tone of a father.
"It's fine. It's not acting up...yet." Blade replied. His tone was different from earlier—it shows vulnerability and trust.
"She's quite special, isn't she?"
"I could take that attack. She didn't need to step in and get hurt."
"Oh but she still did. She and you are not much different...somehow." Mr. Welt said with a smile. "Even though you are always hospitable to death, welcoming it all the time. There are still people out there who care for you, people who don't want you to die."
Oh, this again. Blade had this talk with Mr. Welt already, but he's not just buying it.
"Perhaps, you just need a reason to live, a family for you to look back on. If you keep chasing after death, then it won't come to you." Mr. Welt stated as gently as possible. This topic was sensitive for Blade.
"Mr. Welt, I didn't join the Express to have a family, make friends or look for a reason to live." Over and over again, Blade has to say this to him. "I joined the Express, hoping that I would find a cure for myelf among the cosmos, and end this so-called gift."
Blade bowed to Welt as a sign of respect, then walked away.
A reason to live? Blade long forgotten that along with his tragic past—he let it go. Now...he just wants to end his curse.
And for Welt to say that he and Stelle are likely similar, that was preposterous! They were nothing alike.
He walked over to the clinic so he can have the nurses tend to his wounds. When he arrived at the clinic, he spotted Himeko and March.
The two told him that they will be fixing a few things in the Express. Himeko asked him a favor to stay, wait for Stelle to wake up, let the silver-haired girl know to find her.
As much as Blade dislikes it, he said yes.
Minutes passed, minutes that felt like hours! Stelle finally woke up. From there, Blade mustered up the courage to greet and speak.
"Hi."
If Blade did end up with the Nameless, I think he might be protective of March and Trailblazer. He will see Baiheng in the both of them (Especially in March. Both of them use a bow, and I'm not sure, but I think Baiheng's personality is a mix of both March and TB, with more March personality)
