[Location: Soukai City]

It was just an ordinary day for the residents of the city.

Work, school, appointments, anything that would keep a person busy.

Unfortunately the normal, peaceful day suddenly went away as a massive shadow had casted over the city's skyline as all the civilians looked up to the sky.

Up above they saw a massive, alien like battleship flying over the city and from what it seemed, it was slowly lowering it'd altitude, almost as if it were gonna crash into the city.

Making matters even worse, surrounding and flying with the ship in the air were clusters of Honkai Beasts, strange alien beings that no normal human could ever take on.

Should the ship and the Honkai beasts land, all 34 million of Soukai City's residents could easily perish in the disaster.

As the ship got closer, Soukai City's public city speaker went off as a voice spoke through it.

"Major unidentified flying object sighted above Soukai City. Location: SH0639. Optical readings can't discern the nature of this UFO. No Bio-Energy readings. Scans of the UFO interiors have failed. Clusters of small Honkai Beasts and mech units detected. Battle plan deployed and validated. Deploying drones to cover Valkyrie boarding action."

As the ship flew over the central hub of the city, on a rooftop of one of the smaller buildings, a person to began to walk ahead getting a better look at the thing.

The person was a girl with white hair tied in two long twintails and bright, sea blue eyes as she wore a white, skintight bodysuit with splashes of orange and black scattered along it with two big stars dotting the side of her suit on her legs.

Aa the girl walked, an earpiece that she was wearing buzzed a bit as it turned on itself.

"Double time, Kiana!" Said a voice from the ear piece revealing the girl's name to be Kiana as she heard and gave a sigh.

"Aye, aye, madam! Just don't rush me okay? It's hard work out here!" Said the girl whose name was revealed to be Kiana as she stopped walking.

She took a deep breathe before opening her eyes, a smirk donning her face as from behind her multiple fighter jets flew by,
beginning to shoot down Honkai Beasts approaching them.

An explosion then occurred in front of her as wind blew in her direction, though this didn't deter the girl as she tapped on her ear piece, bringing up a visor to protect her eyes as she began to ran forward, taking a hop and doing some flips before jumping into the air, and raising her leg up as beneath her was one of the aircrafts.

Kiana then immediately brought her leg down as suddenly outta nowhere, a giant metal cat paw appeared and smacked against the front of the aircraft as it got smacked hard and flipped over.

The voice in her earpiece then spoke again.

"Geez. Maintain discipline, soldier." Said the voice in annoyance, clearly not liking what had just occurred.

The blast from the crash managed to get Kiana enough air time as she then landed on her assigned aircraft as it began to fly her closer to board the airship in the sky.

On the way, a number of Honkai Beasts began to form and land on the aircraft as Kiana began to fight them off to preserve her flight.

Unfortunately though, the swarm became too much as the aircraft went off course and ended up crashing into a tall building as the top half ended up crumbling but thankfully rested alongside a skyscraper next to it.

Kiana had managed to jump off before the crash as she landed onto a stable piece of debris as she activated the ear piece.

"Himeko, the drone crashed." Said Kiana as she immediately began to fend off the remaining Honkai Beasts.

The voice in the ear piece, now known as Himeko, groaned in annoyance.

"Seriously? Fine. I'll send you another one to fly by your location. Board it to reach the Selene." Said Himeko, calling the airship by its name.

Kiana nodded and after defeating the the beasts, began to make her way over the rendezvous point as she jumped across the floor that had broken in half and walked up to a bar hanging off the edge as she stood there until her second aircraft had arrived as she jumped off and landed on it as she continued her flight towards the Selene.

After defeating another batch of Honkai Beasts, the flight thankfully went according to plan as the aircraft approached the Selene from above as Kiana activated her ear piece.

"Himeko, I've sent the Honkai Beasts packing. The Selene is within sight!" She said as she kneeled, getting ready to jump off and board the airship.

"Roger. Prepare to land, Kiana!" Informed Himeko.

Once close enough, Kiana removed the visor over her eyes as she jumped off and landed on one of the Selene's outer passageways.

After walking ahead for a bit, Kiana received a transmission call as she answered it to see a hologram of Himeko appear.

"Report your status, Kiana!" She ordered.

"I'm on deck! Everything's going smooth, Himeko!" Replied Kiana.

"Kiana. I've said it many times, but I'll say it again. You may only address me as 'Major Himeko' during missions!" Himeko said in an annoyed tone before calming herself down. "A-Anyways, we got 30 minutes before this battleship crashes. We must seize the helm of this battleship. We can't let it destroy Soukai City! Your teammates are in position. They'll rendezvous with you in a while."

As soon as Kiana heard the word teammates, she had gained an overjoyed expression.

"Mei! You're talking about Mei, right? I'll be meeting up with Mei, right?" Immediately asked Kiana.

"Calm down girl. Stop being so obsessed with Mei. Just stay vigilant and make sure not to get side tracked on the way to her. Oh. Also I need to inform you of a last minute addi-."

Himeko had suddenly been cut off as after learning that she'd teaming up with a person named Mei, that was all that Kiana had wanted to know as she began to blitz her way through any Honkai Beasts that appeared on her path.

After moving ahead for a while, Kiana received a transmission call from the aforementioned Mei herself.

"Kiana, Mei reporting. I'm safely in position." She said.

"Mei! Awesome! I'll head over right now!" Responded Kiana excitedly.

"H-Hey wait! We should follow the battle plan." Said Mei seriously hoping that Kiana wouldn't just abandon it.

"We're the bestest partners!" Shouted a highly confident Kiana. "We must stick together to make things easier for them!"

Mei could only chuckle at Kiana's response and little mistake at the end of her sentence.

"I think you mean, 'make things easier for us'." Said Mei as she corrected Kiana.

"Huh? Eh whatever. Who cares how it's said? Anyways, the battle plan also allowed us to be, 'flexible and respond as required', right? Just wait for me!"

Kiana in anticipation ended the call as she began to climb her way up the ship's upper deck to get on the same level as Mei was.

As she fought through more Honkai Beasts, all she had on her mind was Mei as finally, standing in front of her on the other end of the hallway, she saw her.

Mei was a girl with long, dark purple hair and indigo eyes as she wore pink and black suit with bits and pieces of armor, black thigh highs, and pink shoes.

Once Kiana immediately confirmed that it was Mei, she began to sprint as fast as she possibly could, immediately closing in the gap.

From Mei's perspective, she took a sigh after having just finished her own battle with a Honkai Beast horde as she placed her sword away.

"Hmm, that's about it." She said.

Suddenly, Mei heard a strike behind her as she turned around and saw that Kiana had jumped, bumped into, and kicked away a Honkai Beast that was about to strike her from behind.

Mei was then immediately hugged from the back by Kiana as she had a huge smile.

"Mei! We'll get the strength of a hundred warriors if Mei's around!" Excitedly said the white haired girl as Mei could only awkwardly chuckle at her statement.

"A hundred? I'm no ultra women." She responded.

"I meant that if Mei's around me, I can feel my power increase one-hundred fold!" Replied Kiana which caused Mei to giggle a bit.

"That's really something only you would say Kiana." She said.

"Come on! Let's go and stop this ship!" Shouted Kiana as she grabbed Mei's hand and was about to move on ahead before being stopped by a sudden transmission call from Himeko's hologram.

"Well well, nice going Kiana. Keep being, 'flexible', and I'll reconsider your next deployment." Said an annoyed Himeko.

"I-I'm sorry Aunt Himeko!" Immediately apologized Kiana.

"Again it's Major Himeko!" Shouted Himeko before getting to the point. "Mei, Kiana, before you move on ahead I made a last minute addition to the team. We just hired them only a few moments ago."

"Huh!? Why'd you do that!? When Mei and I are together it's all that we need!" Shouted Kiana as Mei then realized what Himeko meant.

"Wait. Did you say that you hired someone Major Himeko? Does that mean that a mercenary will be joining us?" Asked Mei.

"Good eye Mei. Yes. We've indeed hired a merc for today's mission. They'll be there very soon so please treat them nicely. If this goes well, then they'll be willing to help us again in the future."

With that, Himeko ended the call as shortly after that, the sound of an aircraft was approaching.

The two girls turned to see that a drone had flown by as a figure jumped off of it, landing in front of them as they stood up, revealing their appearance to the two females.

It was the mercenary, whose life was about to change from here on out.
