Chapter 76: Of Drink A-Dreaming

(Patrick's point of view)

After saving Enkanomiya, the Valkyries and CPUs decided to return back to Mondstadt except Sakura, Kallen, and Mei. Fu Hua decided to return to Liyue. The CPUs and CPU Candidates were back in their "4 Goddesses Online" outfits.

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

Right now Kiana, Neptune, Vert, and I were sitting underneath a tree in the shade on top of a cliff with a view of Mondstadt. The wind blew against us and we heard animal sounds.

Patrick: Back in Mondstadt again.

Kiana: After being in Inazuma for so long.

Neptune: Now I'm a paladin again.

Vert: And I'm back to being an enchanter again.

Patrick: I feel like I needed a break from Inazuma.

Kiana: Same here.

Neptune: Being in our HDD forms are tiring.

Vert: And I get to see Klee again.

Kiana: Oh please don't remind us.

Patrick: You reacted the same way you met Bouquet when first meeting Klee. You could've corrupted her innocence with your bouncy bouncy and you could've gotten punished by Jean.

Vert: I know. I couldn't help myself.

Neptune: The others are doing their work while we're out here letting the wind blow against us.

Kiana: There there.

An hour went by then they stood up then walked back to the city defending to go to Angel's Share to do the drinking event.

(No point of view)

Patrick, Kiana, Neptune, and Vert go to Angel's Share with Aether and Paimon.

Luka: Hello there! So, you must be the renowned Travelers.

Aether: That's us.

Paimon: Hey, don't forget about the equally renowned Paimon!

Luka: Hehe, of course. Well, it just so happens that our tavern, Angel's Share, is hosting a Bartender's Academy Week. I'm hoping the event might interest you.

Patrick, Aether, and girls: Bartender's Academy Week?

Luka: Basically, you'll have full access to all of our ingredients to mix cocktails or any other drink you please. As long as you refrain from being wasteful, you can enjoy unlimited refills for the drinks you create.

Paimon: Unlimited refills!

Vert: Free cups of tea.

Luka: Also, you'll be rewarded handsomely if the guests are happy with your drinks.

Paimon: What? There's even rewards!?

Aether: Well, Paimon is sold...

Neptune: So am I!

Paimon: Where do we sign up!?

Luka: It's called an "academy" but attendance is certainly not mandatory... And you don't have to make your decision right away. You're more than welcome to give it a try first. So, what do you think? Will you give the academy a try?

Aether: Okay, we'll give it a shot.

Patrick and girls: Yeah!

Luka: Great, then please come on in. First, Charles will walk you through some basic techniques.

They go into the tavern where they meet Charles.

Charles: Hey, I know you six. So, what can I get for you today?

Aether: Hi, Charles.

Paimon: Hey, Charles! Actually, we came to be bartenders today!

Charles: Bartenders? Oh, so Luka roped you six in, did he? He's got quite a knack for that.

Patrick: Yes he did.

Charles: Travelers, you're certainly talented at handling difficult tasks, there's no doubt about that. But mixing cocktails is a whole different game, it's delicate work and requires a certain amount of finesse. Everything from the ratios of your ingredients to your mixing techniques could affect the final product.

Paimon: Don't worry. He's a fantastic cook. Cooking and cocktail-making have a lot in common, you know!

Kiana: I can't really cook right. But there are some thing that I can make right.

Neptune: I can't really cook either. But there are some things I can make right.

Vert: I can cook.

Charles: Alright, I'll take your word for it. Oh, and one more thing... In a previous event, we had a student who arbitrarily mixed three kinds of hard liquor. Just one glass was enough to leave a customer passed out on the floor. So in light of that incident, we decided to no longer provide alcoholic ingredients to beginners. I hope you'll understand.

Aether: No problem at all.

Patrick: We understand.

Charles: Great, that just about covers all I have to say. You'll learn all the skills and techniques you need on the fly.

The first one up is Aether. The drink he tries to make is coffee which he successfully makes. Next was Vert. She makes a tea which easily makes her pass. Third was Patrick. He also makes a coffee which he passes. Kiana and Neptune had difficulties with making a juice and a blend but after finally getting their drinks right, they passed.

Charles: Mmm, you're quick learners, they taste pretty good.

Paimon: Paimon agrees! This is amazing!

Vert: Making tea is nothing to me. I know a lot of herbal blends and enjoy tea.

Patrick: I know how to make coffee, hot chocolate with milk, and there wa this one time my parents took me and my brother to a wine factory where we learned how to make wine.

Charles: That was just practice, though. On the job, customers often will have special requests for their drinks. Some may enjoy a stiffer drink, while others might prefer something more sour, everyone has their own preferences. Adjusting the amounts of the ingredients is always the key.

Paimon: Paimon would like a Caramel Pinecone, extra sweet, in the biggest glass you have. Please and thank you!

Charles: Well, that's about all there is to it. But, to become a truly exceptional bartender, in addition to mixing skills, you'll also need to master conversing with your customers...

Aether: We're up to the challenge!

Patrick and girls: Yeah!

Charles: Alright, in that case, you can take this counter. If you have questions or need any help, just give me a holler.

Paimon: Whew... Class dismissed! Wait, where's Paimon's Caramel Pinecone?

Aether: So you really did want a Caramel Pinecone...

???: I see that you all passed.

They turn to see Himeko.

Himeko: You're gonna enjoy working here. There's even bartender outfits for you all to wear.

Kiana: Really?!

Himeko: Yes.

Neptune: Let's invite Asuka!

Patrick: Let's also invite Durandal, Cú Chulainn, and Francis Drake.

Himeko: Good idea. Now then. Let's get changed!

The scene changes to a series of scene shots of Patrick, Kiana, Durandal, Cú Chulainn, Neptune, Vert, Asuka, and Francis Drake changing into their bartender outfits. The last shot showed them come together then do a pose.

Patrick: Alright, let's do this.

Everyone: Yeah!

Now there was a series of freeze shots of the group serving customers food and drinks with Himeko. The boys and men were attracted by the busty girls as they kept coming just to see them. Neptune and Vert transformed into Purple Heart and Green Heart a few times while at work and that caused all the boys and men to get charmed. Purple Heart and Green Heart flirted with the boys and men. Asuka was embarrassed with all the boys and men staring at her. Drake had a lot of attention because of how busty she was. The girls and women were charmed by Cú Chulainn.

The Tavern Tales started.

Coming in were Kaeya and Rosaria. Rosaria was in her censored outfit.

Cú Chulainn: Welcome.

Kaeya: Well, well. This is a surprise. I didn't expect to see you guys behind the counter today.

Kiana: Oh you better believe it. We took Luka's offer and started work as bartenders.

Himeko: Showed them the ropes on how to do it like Master Diluc showed me.

Vert: Now the boys here are charmed by more girls here.

Asuka: This is embarrassing though...

Neptune: Oh nonsense! You're doing great, Asuka.

Patrick: Yeah... business has been better with us around.

Kaeya: In that case, I'd like a Death After Noon...

Rosaria: Leave it to Kaeya to make things difficult right from the start...

Kaeya: Come now, I just wanted to see how they'd react. I admit I didn't expect to see you here today, Sister Rosaria. With so many demanding customers that frequent the tavern, I only thought I'd help the Traveler gain some experience.

Paimon: There he goes with that smooth talk again!

Kiana: With being shady as always.

Neptune: Being sus like in "Among Us".

Kaeya: Don't get me wrong, I was only trying to be helpful! If anything, you should be thanking me. Now, how about we start with something simple like a Moonlit Alley, for instance. Oh, and make it a large, please.

Rosaria: I'll leave my drink up to you. Just make it a tea of some kind, and not too big.

Aether: Got it. Coming right up.

Vert: Just leave them to us~

Kaeya: Please, take your time. Waiting in anticipation is half the fun.

Aether makes Kaeya his Moonlit Alley while Vert makes Rosaria her tea. Then they serve them their drinks.

Rosaria: Hmm...

Paimon: What is it, Rosaria? You don't like the drink?

Aether: We can make you another one...

Rosaria: No, the drink you made me is fine. It's just that I rarely ever drink tea. The taste always reminds me of certain... things.

Neptune: Like what?

Vert: What things do they remind you of?

Kaeya: Ah, I presume you're referring to the church?

Rosaria: Yes. The church once held an event that I couldn't attend, but Sister Barbara still saved some tea and dessert for me... The dessert had already gone stale, so she whisked it away when I wasn't looking, but the tea tasted just like this drink you made me.

Paimon: Boy, you're in rare form today, Rosaria.

Kaeya: Sounds to me like Mondstadt's just gained another black tea lover.

Rosaria: Heh, I'd prefer something a little stiffer.

Kiana: Hope you're not making Bronya or Blanc angry because they could destroy something if hey get angry.

Rosaria: I'm not. I'm not. Master Jean threatened me to never offend the 2 emotionless little girls again.

Aether: What about you, Kaeya? How's your drink?

Kaeya: That depends. If I point out a few flaws, will you make me another one?

Neptune and Kiana: WHAT?!

Kaeya: Hahaha, I'm just kidding. I'd never subject you to such treatment.

Paimon: Gosh, Kaeya sure is a tough nut to crack, you never know what he'll say next. How can you stand to drink with this guy, Rosaria?

Rosaria: Hmm? I don't really care what's going through his mind, as long as we only talk about drinks.

Rosaria: Besides, Kaeya's only interested in people or things that intrigue him, whether that's you, the innkeeper here, or anybody else...

Kaeya: Hey! How could you divulge so much about your dear old drinking buddy, hmm?

Rosaria: You think I'm saying too much? Heh, get over yourself, it's no big deal.

Neptune: Yeah especially since you are shady and from Khan...

Vert instantly covered Neptune's mouth.

Kaeya: From what?

Vert: From a higher ground.

Rosaria: Ugh, I'm constantly surrounded by uptight folks day-to-day. I prefer the easygoing atmosphere in the tavern.

Kaeya: Ooh, are we gossiping about people who take themselves too seriously, now?

Kaeya: Speaking of which, I know someone who could easily place in the "Top Three Most Serious People in Mondstadt." As to their level of seriousness... Well, let me put it this way, they probably wouldn't even flinch if I said that to their face.

Paimon: Are there really rankings for people like that?

Kaeya: Of course. Just off the top of my head, there's a running list for the most consistent drinkers, hardest workers, worst cooks, or even... biggest hoarders of dark secrets.

Paimon: Sounds to Paimon like Mondstadters have way too much time on their hands!

Rosaria: Are there really that many people who don't need to work?

Aether: I think I know who he's talking about...

Paimon: Aww, but what about Paimon? Is there a category that Paimon can be ranked as high as them?

Kaeya: Why, of course. How about, "Best Bartenders"?

Paimon: R—Really!? That's great, guys! Our names will be remembered together forever!

Rosaria: Heh... Well, I must admit, the atmosphere you bring isn't half bad.

Kaeya: You can say that again. Just looking at these guys brings a smile to my face. Good bartenders create a nice atmosphere and get people in a good mood. You know, like a mascot... so I guess there's really no contest for the title of "Best Bartenders."

Paimon: Huh?

Kaeya: Heh, nothing. Thanks for your hospitality.

Rosaria: Yeah, I should be going, too. By the way, that black tea tasted great. I'll try to make some for myself in the future... if I can manage to get up early enough in the morning, that is.

Kaeya: Until next time.

Aether: Please come again.

Kaeya and Rosaria leave.

Neptune: Players should ship those two together.

Paimon: Ship them?

Neptune: It means to pair them up together as a love couple.

Paimon: Pair them up as a love couple?!

Cú Chulainn: They both use ice and are drinking buddies.

Durandal: However, I doubt they can take care of children right and just be drunkards and forget all about their children.

As they were talking, someone enters the tavern without them noticing. When she notices Neptune, she gets excited.

???: Hey Neppy~!

The voice instantly gets everyone's attention. Neptune gets excited too.

Neptune: Plutie!

Neptune runs to the girl and hugs her.

It was Plutia.

Paimon: Who is that?

Patrick: That's Plutia. She's a CPU Goddess like Neptune and Vert. When she transforms she turns sadistic.

Neptune: But!...

Neptune turns around.

Neptune: She's a great doll maker and a tailor. And don't ever think about provoking her or else you're dead.

Plutia fires a sadistic stare at Paimon.

Plutia: That's right~ Don't ever provoke me or else I'll punish you~

Paimon: EEK!

Paimon hides behind Aether.

Plutia grins.

Plutia: Hehehe~

Neptune: So... What can we get you?

Plutia: A Love Poem please~

Neptune: Sure thing. Right this way please.

Neptune takes Plutia to a table then goes back to the counter to make her tea.

The next Tavern Tale started.

Paimon: Oh, it's Master Diluc! What brings you here? Do you have nothing to do today?

Diluc: Heh, me? "Nothing to do"? Don't count on it. I heard you people were working as bartenders, so I thought I'd drop by to see how you're coming along.

Paimon: Wow, you really do catch wind of things quickly!

Kiana: Especially since this is your tavern after all.

Himeko: Oh they're coming along really well, Master Diluc.

Diluc: So, tell me. How do you like being a bartenders?

Aether: Actually, we just started...

Paimon: Yeah, it's still a little too early to tell. We haven't been at it for very long.

Vert: The boys and men are attracted to me.

Drake: And me too.

Patrick: Just look at Neptune making tea for her best friend over there.

Patrick points at Neptune, then Plutia who waves.

Plutia: Hello~

Diluc: Just tell me your initial feelings. Excited? Confused? Anything. How does it feel to be a bartender?

Aether: It's a new experience.

Cú Chulainn: I've worked at places like this before and am already a great bartender and waiter.

Patrick: It's great.

Diluc: I see.

Paimon: Hey, didn't you want to ask Paimon, too? Paimon's initial feeling is... drinks taste good!

Diluc: ... Good. I'm happy for you. Now, could you make me a Gray Valley Sunset, then? I'll leave the size up to you.

Aether: Sure, I'll get that started for you.

Diluc: Great, take your time.

Neptune finishes Plutia's tea then Aether starts making Diluc's Gray Valley Sunset.

Neptune: Here you are.

Plutia takes a sip.

Plutia: Mmm~ Great work, Neppy.

Neptune: Sooooo What brings you to Mondstadt?

Plutia: I came for guest appearance and to make dolls and do tailoring with Peashy.

Neptune: P-ko is here too?!

Plutia: Yes she is. I've made a doll for Klee.

A flashback cloud appears above showing Plutia making a doll for Klee that looks exactly like Klee then she gives Klee her doll

Klee: Thank you very much miss Plutia!

Plutia: Anything for a new friend.

Then the cloud goes poof.

Neptune: have you made dolls of anyone else?

Plutia: Yes I have. Of Barbara, Jean, Lisa, and Diona.

Neptune: You get your Vision yet?

Plutia: Not yet.

Neptune: I should get back to work now. Enjoy your tea.

Plutia: OK~

After a talk between the two Planeptune CPUs, Aether serves Diluc his Gray Valley Sunset.

Diluc: Mmm. Not bad, not bad at all.

Paimon: It's all about the ingredients! If the fruit are fresh and juicy, then the drink will naturally be sweet and tasty without adding anything extra.

Neptune: Yeah! It's all about the ingredients!

Diluc: Sounds like I should thank the soil of Mondstadt. It just so happens that Gray Valley Sunset is the first drink I ever mixed.

Vert: That was the first drink you ever made?

Diluc: I was still quite young. My father laid out several ingredients and told me to experiment with them. No requirements and no instruction. In hindsight, he probably just wanted to test my creativity. In the end, I just made a glass of fruit punch, much like this one.

Paimon: Oh? But why fruit punch?

Diluc: My father was equally surprised. I didn't really put much thought into it, I just figured that it would taste sweet. Looking back on it, I was so young and naive.

Aether: I wouldn't be so sure.

Diluc: Oh?

Aether: I'm sure your father thought it was a good drink.

Patrick: He must have enjoyed it.

Diluc: I've never thought about it, I suppose... My father didn't say a word at the time. But, thank you. By the way, there's something I'd like to give you.

Kiana: What is it?

Diluc: But, I suppose it's better to wait until you have more experience with your bartender jobs. I have no doubt that you'll do very well.

Paimon: And Paimon will... uh, be rooting for you! Hehe.

Diluc: Very well. Then, I look forward to seeing your good work. See you around.

Paimon: Come back soon when you have a minute!

Diluc leaves then Plutia.

(Next day)

Someone unexpected from Liyue shows up.

Paimon: Zh—Zhongli!

Zhongli: Ah, Travelers. Good to see you, I trust you are well?

Zhongli was at the tavern. And So was Fu Hua.

Fu Hua: I see that you are working here.

Paimon: W—Wait... Uh, Zhongli, what are you doing here?

Zhongli: If I am to roam about the world, then I certainly mustn't limit my destinations. The free and prosperous Land of Wind is as splendid a place to visit as any.

Fu Hua: He asked me to come along with him as I took this as an opportunity to see you guys again.

Zhongli: And it's quite a pleasant surprise to run into you here.

Aether: We can chat over a cup of tea.

Kiana: So what would you like dear sir?

Zhongli: One Misty Garden please. I take my tea strong, thank you.

Fu Hua: Same here.

Kiana: Ok, coming right up.

Meanwhile on the second floor, Asuka was up there with someone.

Asuka: Do you know what you want today, ma'am?

Then the person looks at Asuka revealing her face from behind the menu.

Mona: Yes. Astrologist Mona Magistus would like One Scholar's Afternoon extra strong.

Asuka gasps but thankfully Mona does not notice. She was also wearing her censored outfit.

Asuka: Ok, Ms. Magistus.

Mona: By the way. Why do we sound the same?

Asuka: Uhh... Maybe it's a coincidence that we sound the same. Anyways I'll be right back.

Aether and Kiana finish making their two cups of tea and present them to Zhongli and Fu Hua.

Paimon: Sorry to keep you waiting!

Aether: Enjoy.

Zhongli: Mmm, the tea is clear and glows with a pleasing hue. Its richness is complemented by a floral and fruity fragrance. Exquisite.

Paimon: Wow, so Zhongli is even super knowledgeable about tea.

Fu Hua: Yes he is. Glad that Kiana did not screw up.

Kiana: Neptune and I had to get trained more and we are finally able to make drinks right.

Paimon: Paimon usually just gulps down the tea and says something simple like, "Yummy yummy in Paimon's tummy."

Kiana: I would say something like that too.

Zhongli: Mindfully savoring the tea shows due respect to the person that brewed it for you. Tea of good quality is hard to come by, and those capable of brewing tea according to the occasion and emotions even more so.

Aether: You're too kind.

Kiana was blushing.

Kiana: We're flattered.

Paimon: Oh, Paimon gets it now. So could you teach Paimon how to savor tea like you do? It seems you smell it first, then drink it, right?

Zhongli: That's correct. Every type of tea is unique. The more you drink, the more you will understand the subtle differences. Smelling the aroma will reveal the quality of the tea. Lower-grade teas emit a musty and seemingly scorched scent, whereas ones with a delicate yet soothing aroma are usually of a higher quality. If you want to be more particular, according to Liyue ancient tradition, you could acquire a "Vintage Goblet," which is used specifically for examining the aroma.

Paimon: Oh no, all this time, Paimon's been missing out on her tea...

Zhongli: Not to worry. Knowledge is vast, it's never too late to learn. As a beginner, you can try this method: first observe the color. Then, smell the fragrance... And finally, take a sip. Remember, you can understand anything as long as you approach it in the proper order.

Aether: We learned a lot today.

Kiana: I'd like to know more.

Zhongli: Qiaoying Village in northwest Liyue is famous for their tea industry. It would be well worthwhile the visit when you get the chance. What I shared with you today are mostly my own habits as an old-fashioned Liyue local.

Fu Hua: There are still some things in Liyue I don't know yet but Zhongli has been teaching me things. Like wisdom on tea.

Zhongli: Each region has its own tea traditions and culture. One should always respect the conventions of the local region.

Paimon: Paimon gets it! But whether Paimon can remember it all is another story, hehe...

Aether: Classic Paimon.

Zhongli: Thank you for such excellent tea. It made my trip out here all the more worthwhile.

Fu Hua: Yes. Thank you.

Kiana: Oh it was nothing.

Zhongli: If you ever come to manage a tea house, I will certainly be a regular.

Paimon: Well, we're already pretty busy. I don't think we'll have time to manage a side hustle at a tea house.

Aether: Well, who knows...

Cú Chulainn: There's always the option to temporarily run a tea house. It doesn't have to be permanent.

Kiana: That's a good idea.

Zhongli: Regardless, you have my complete support. Let's call it a day. I won't take more of your time. All the best with your new pursuit.

Kiana: Bye.

Aether: Wait, about the bill...

Zhongli: Ah yes, the bill... Just put it on Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's tab, as usual.

Paimon: Of course... Take care! Give our regards to the director!

Fu Hua: We will!

Zhongli and Fu Hua leave.

Asuka comes back down.

Neptune: What's the matter Asuka?

Asuka: I met Mona.

Neptune: Oh you did. You met the girl with the same voice as you. Next I'm meeting the woman who has the same voice as me.

The Next Tavern Tale started with Jean and Lisa. Jean was also in her censored outfit.

Lisa: Hi there, cuties. It's good to see you.

Neptune: Good to see you again too, Lisa. (Since you and I are both voiced by Rie Tanaka.)

Jean: It is certainly unusual for us to meet in a place like this, but as Lisa said, I'm glad to see you.

Lisa: Hey, what do you mean by "a place like this"? The tavern is a wonderful place to relax and unwind a little.

Kiana: That's right, Master Jean.

Lisa: *sigh* Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to drag the Acting Grand Master away from her desk?

Neptune: Not really.

Lisa: We've only been here for a few minutes and worry is already written all over her face.

Jean: *sigh* Lisa...

Aether: Well, the Knights of Favonius do have a lot to handle...

Paimon: Yeah, this is the Acting Grand Master we're talking about. It's only natural that she has a lot on her plate!

Kiana: Like Auntie Theresa and Auntie Himeko.

Paimon: But you know what they say... "Now that we're already here..." Why don't you let him mix a couple of drinks for you two. It'll make you feel a lot better!

Lisa: Think of it as a way to unwind. Honestly, Jean is the only person I know who needs to be taught how to relax. Hey cutie, whip me up a Love Poem. Medium, extra sweet. And how about you, Jean? What are you in the mood for?

Jean: I'll just have... coffee. Medium, please.

Paimon: Master Jean, you drink coffee all the time. Wouldn't you like to try something else?

Jean: Thanks, but no. I want something to help keep me awake.

Aether: Got it. Coming right up!

Jean: Thanks.

Aether makes the drinks then Neptune carries Lisa's drink while Aether carries Jean's drink.

Lisa: Mmm... The sweetness is just right. Very good.

Jean: The coffee is strong and rich with just a nice hint of bitterness to it.

Aether: I'm glad you both like the drinks.

Neptune: So am I!

Jean: Actually, I do understand what you meant, Lisa.

Lisa: Hmm?

Jean: I've been reflecting on my weaknesses lately. There's still room for me to improve in many areas, such as my productivity and management... I'm concerned my stress may even be starting to somehow affect you as well...

Aether: I think you still don't quite understand.

Neptune: Still stubborn.

Jean: What?

Lisa: Hehe. See? Cuties knows. You were working yourself way too hard, so I thought I'd take you out for some drinks. All I wanted was for you to have some fun. But even in the tavern, you're still thinking about work. That's what's most concerning. If you're constantly under stress like this, it's only a matter of time before you burn out.

Kiana: Just like what happened last time when you got sick and we had to do your work for you.

Aether: Exactly.

Jean: Oh... You also agree with Lisa?

Kiana: Yes we do.

Jean: Hmm, so... is learning to relax actually my biggest challenge?

Neptune: Yes it is.

Aether: To quote a saying from Liyue: "Everything has a balance."

Paimon: Yep! Work hard, play hard, and rest even harder. The two of you may need even more rest than you'd expect!

Aether: That's an... interesting way to put it.

Lisa: Hehe.

Jean: Alright, I... I understand.

Neptune: There.

Jean: Thank you, all of you. Now I know that this place serves refreshments for both the body and the mind. Is that why you and Kaeya like the tavern so much?

Lisa: Yes, and no. It really depends on who's making the drinks. Speaking of which, we couldn't have changed Jean's mind without you today. You sure have a way with words, Cuties.

Aether: Don't mention it.

Neptune: We're glad we could help.

Kiana: Wouldn't want history to repeat itself again.

Lisa: Hehe, then we'll see you later.

Jean: I'll consider coming here to relax if I have another opportunity.

Paimon: Sounds great. Take care, you two!

Jean and Lisa leave.

Neptune: (Most players ship those two together. There's even been fan art of me dressed up like Lisa while in normal form and as Purple Heart.)

(Next day)

Fu Hua came back with Shenhe.

Shenhe: Hello, guys.

Fu Hua: Hello.

Paimon: Hi there! Paimon would be more surprised to see you if we hadn't already seen a bunch of our friends... Huh!? Wait, you're Shenhe! This is a surprise!

Shenhe: This place isn't easy to find. Angel's Share... The name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Mr. Zhongli was kind enough to help me with directions. I'm thankful.

Fu Hua: I was even kind enough to go with her.

Paimon: You needed help with directions?... Wait, you came all this way just for a drink?

Shenhe: That's right. Because... we're friends.

Fu Hua: And I wanted to come back here with her.

Aether: What would you like?

Paimon: Here's the menu!

Shenhe: Boreal Watch... Hmm, Boreal? As in a cold climate?

Paimon: Well, Boreal Watch here probably is referring to the Wolf of the North. So yeah, you could say it's cold.

Kiana: Just like Boreas.

Shenhe: Caramel Pinecone... How could that be a drink?

Paimon: Oh, Paimon's tried that one. It's actually caramel flavored coffee. "Pinecone" just refers to the color!

Shenhe: Huh... These names are confusing. I can't make sense of any of these. I'll leave it up to you. As long as it's something that tastes like Qingxin or Violetgrass.

Paimon: Those medicinal herbs don't grow around here.

Fu Hua: You're not in Liyue anymore. This is Mondstadt.

Shenhe: I knew that.

Paimon: If you want something bitter, then it'd have to be coffee...

Aether: How about something sweet instead?

Shenhe: Fine.

Paimon: That's a good idea. You've practiced the adepti arts long enough. It's time for something new!

Fu Hua: One sweet drink won't give you a lot of weight.

Shenhe blushed deep red.

Shenhe: SH-SHUT UP!

Fu Hua: Relax. I was only teasing you, Shenhe.

Paimon: Let's make Shenhe a Snow-Covered Kiss! It sounds like a perfect fit for her.

While Aether goes to make Shenhe her drink, someone enters into the tavern.

Patrick and Cú Chulainn: Welcome! HUH?!

Coming in was Jeanne D'Arc wearing peasant clothing. Patrick blushed.

Jeanne: Is something wrong?

Patrick: You are looking really attractive today.

Jeanne blushes.

Jeanne: WH-WHAT?! What kind of response is that?!

Patrick: Sorry! Sorry! I talked without thinking!

Jeanne: Ok! Ok! Calm down!

Patrick: Right this way please.

Patrick leads Jeanne upstairs and sat her down at a table.

Patrick: So... what can I get you, Jeanne.

Jeanne: I think I'd like a Laughter and Cheer.

Patrick: Coming right up, Jeanne.

Aether finishes making Shenhe's drink then Patrick starts making Jeanne's tea.

Shenhe: Hmm, it's sweet and smooth. Not bitter at all. What is it?

Paimon: It's called a Snow-Covered Kiss! Whisk milk until it froths, and then gently pour it over some juice. It looks like it's covered by a layer of snow. Don't ask why it's called a kiss, though... Paimon doesn't get it either. It's probably just a gimmick to get it to sell better!

Shenhe: A gimmick?

Paimon: Uh, Paimon's just guessing... Maybe it's more of a romantic description!

Shenhe: Romantic?

Paimon: Uhh... It's hard to explain! Stop making Paimon come up with things.

Fu Hua: Guess that you don't know anything about love or romance.

Shenhe blushes again.

Shenhe: I know all about love and romance!

Fu Hua: Only you've never had a boyfriend before.

Shenhe now turned beat red with steam coming out of her.

Shenhe: SHUT UP!

Aether: It's kind of like snow on the mountains...

Paimon: Mm-hmm, that's right.

Aether: The moment you taste the sweetness of the juice...

Fu Hua: Like a sprout pushing through the ice to give you a kiss...

Shenhe: ...Oh. I see. I seem to understand now.

Paimon: Oh? Really? But wait, why is Paimon the one who's confused now!?

Shenhe: Occasionally, I chew on divine herbs as I wander about in the mountains. I have witnessed the moment a new sprout breaks through the soil. The elation in my heart then does bear a resemblance to what I'm experiencing now. Thank you for helping me understand these obscure names. I might need your help again sometime in the future.

Shenhe leaves then Patrick serves Jeanne her tea.

Jeanne: Mmm... Very good.

Patrick: Glad that you like it. I'll be getting back to work now.

Patrick comes back down only to notice Eula and notices something off with her. So he goes to Eula.

Eula: A small Foamy Reef, please... Thank you.

Patrick: Eula?

Aether: What's the matter?

Eula: I... I'm fine.

Paimon: Huh... There's something off about Eula. Was she already drinking before she got here?

Kiana: It looks like it.

Neptune: She's definitely drunk!

Paimon: But, Foamy Reef has coffee in it. Would it upset her stomach if she has coffee after liquor?

Patrick: I don't know.

Paimon: For her tummy's sake, let's water it down before serving it to her!

Patrick: I'll keep an eye on her.

Kiana and Neptune: So will we!

Aether goes making Eula's drink. Following Paimon's instructions, he mixes water into the coffee... Then he serves Eula the drink.

Patrick: Feeling any better, Eula?

Eula: This tastes pretty good...

Paimon: Wow, she didn't even notice how much water we added. She must've had a lot to drink.

Eula: One more, bartender... Huh? W—Wait, it's you guys?

Patrick: Yes... it's us.

Aether: We're learning to become bartenders...

Kiana and Neptune: You only just now noticed us?

Eula: Ugh...

Patrick: What happened to you to cause you to get so drunk?

Eula: Sorry. I just came here from The Cat's Tail. Perhaps I had a little too much to drink...

Patrick: Is something troubling you?

Aether: We're here if you want to talk.

Paimon: Yeah. It's pretty lonely to drink by yourself. You'll feel better if you talk to us!

Eula: ... I suppose I always do drink alone. As long as I'm in Mondstadt, I'll never be welcome at taverns. I was actually feeling good today and wanted a drink, but they still wouldn't get off my back...

Kiana: Yeah... Mondstadt will never see how innocent you are having nothing to do with the Lawrences. You could always move away from Mondstadt and go by a new last name so no one will know.

Eula: I cannot.

Kiana: If you say so.

Eula: Tell me, how did you manage to make so many friends? People always sound so appreciative and are always smiling when they talk about you. But as for me, just mentioning my family name is enough to make everyone...

Aether: Hey, don't think like that.

Paimon: You didn't choose to be born into the Lawrence clan, and we don't care about that kind of thing. The Eula we know is a great person!

Kiana: Yeah! You're not a bad person! We helped you arrest your Uncle Schubert.

Patrick: And I got you away from a riot.

Paimon: But you don't like being straightforward. You always pretend to hold a grudge, and you try to hide your tenderness away from everyone...

Eula: Hey, who said I was pretending.

Patrick: Others will accept you, Eula...

Aether: There will be many people who accept you one day, Eula...

Eula: Do you think so? Heh, it's impossible to imagine, even when I'm this drunk... Even after being a Knight of Favonius for all this time, people still... whatever.

Aether: Winds always change their course.

Paimon: Oh, right! Tone-Deaf Bard said something wise like that, too. Just be yourself, Eula... and keep moving forward. Sooner or later you'll change what people think about the Lawrence clan!

Aether: Yes, just be patient.

Eula: Okay, thank you... I... ahem! I should go now.

Aether: Would you like us to walk you back?

Patrick: Being drunk means that you can't get back by yourself.

Eula: No need. I want to remember what you said, and I won't be able to think about anything else until I write everything down.

Eula leaves.

Patrick: I'll go follow her to make sure that she makes it back home.

Patrick secretly followed Eula then came back after making sure that Eula got home safely.

Paimon: Eula sure is a lot more open after a few drinks. But it does feel like something's missing without her signature revenge line.

Kiana: She would usually say "Vengeance will be mine".

Paimon: Uh-oh... When she wakes up in the morning, do you think she'll come threatening us to forget about what happened today?

Aether: Hmm, maybe.

Kiana: Then maybe we should lay low or face her head on.

A few minutes later, Patrick came back.

Patrick: Eula made it back home safely. Now let's get back to work.

The last Tavern Tale began.

In the tavern were two unexpected women from Liyue.

Beidou: Ahoy, Traveler! Great timing. Join us for a round?

Ningguang: Traveler, what a pleasant surprise.

Aether: What are you two doing here?

Paimon: Wait, did you two come together?

Beidou: This lady decided on a whim that she wanted a little vacation, so we ended up traveling around the area.

Kiana: And you chose to come to Mondstadt.

Ningguang: Yes.

Beidou: But I guess we have different ideas of vacation. We hardly hiked the mountains before we came here to put our feet up. Talk about spoiled.

Ningguang: Come now, no need to hurt anyone's feelings. Besides, I specifically chose this place because I knew how much you like to drink. But our captain here has seen a lot more of the world, so she's not exactly thrilled with this little tavern.

Beidou: It'll do. Anyway, this one's on me, okay?

Paimon: Beidou's paying? Uh, does that include us?

Aether: We're the bartenders, Paimon.

Kiana: incase you've already forgotten.

Paimon: Oh right. Hehe, sorry... guess that's just a habit now.

Aether: And what can we get for the two lovely ladies?

Ningguang: I'll have a small Birch Sap, on the sour side.

Beidou: Uh... I will have a... a large Dusk, please. Thanks!

Aether: Got it. Coming right up.

Aether and Kiana make both the ladies their drinks then serves them.

Ningguang: ...

Beidou: ...

Paimon: Well? H—How is it? This silence is making Paimon nervous!

Kiana: So much suspense!

Ningguang: Mmm... The bittersweet taste of nostalgia.

Beidou: You mean the taste of going from rags to riches? Just what kind of taste is that?

Ningguang: Hehe... It's mainly sour with just a tinge of sweetness, and a lingering aftertaste.

Beidou: Interesting... Does it taste like starting a little business then discovering that selling fruit isn't very lucrative?

Ningguang: No need to get into the details. Let's leave the past in the past.

Beidou: Haha, who'd have thought that the dignified Tianquan was once a fruit vendor on the street. On the other hand, I bet few can tell that I'm from an ordinary fishing village, right?

Ningguang: Not necessarily. If you ask me... I'd say that Captain Beidou has eyes that can pierce the sea. You're an adventure-seeking pioneer who tames the wind and the waves... Which is clearly indicative of someone who grew up by the sea.

Beidou: Hey, you're not mocking me, are you?

Ningguang: Come now, it wouldn't do any good to be sarcastic.

Beidou: I know how fierce you can be with words. It's my treat today, so remember to take it easy on me.

Ningguang: Alright, then I'd like to have a few more.

Aether: Another drink for the lovely lady?

Kiana: We're here to serve you!

Paimon: Well, you heard the good lady, bartender!

Beidou: I like where this is going! I'll have another round, too!

Aether and Kiana give the two a refill immediately...

Ningguang: Mondstadt's fresh fruit juice is hard to top. I wish I could enjoy some every day.

Beidou: Are you serious? Don't tell me you're gonna open a Sunsettia trade route now...

Ningguang: Hmm, an interesting proposition.

Beidou: Wait... Huh, really?

Ningguang: I'm just joking, of course. There's already a whole industry established for that. They don't need me muscling my way in to their business. Thanks for the drinks today. If you'd ever like a cushy job, I'd enjoy having you as my personal bartender.

Beidou: You're also welcome aboard the Alcor. The crew loves to drink, you could come feast with us. I promise you'd have a blast.

Ningguang: My, my, Captain Beidou, are you competing with me for talent? That's hardly necessary. You may simply stop by the Jade Chamber whenever you want the Traveler to mix you a drink.

Aether: (we're so popular!)

Paimon: Is it Paimon, or does it sound like they think you work for them?

Aether: When we have a chance... We'll visit you both. I promise.

And then Beidou and Ningguang leave.

Neptune: That's all the Tavern Tales.

Kiana: What's more to do.

Patrick: The bartender challenge.

Neptune: Then let's get to it!

Everyone: YEAH!

A week went by and the group continued their work as bartenders. Some of the party members came to the tavern and enjoyed the drinks they made.

Theresa and Rita really enjoyed the tea. The Vodka Twins and Lowee CPU Candidates really enjoyed the juices. Others enjoyed the coffee.

The montage stopped when the Party except Aether, Paimon, and the members in Inazuma were in the Serenetea pot at the meeting table. It was night.

Neptune: Being bartenders was fun. You guys could have given it a try.

Noire: Not interested.

Durandal: It was embarrassing serving Rita.

Asuka: It was embarrassing.

Cú Chulainn: Felt like working in Neko-Arc's Ahnenerbe again.

Jeanne: I drank with Venti. I drank tea and he drank wine. And he asked the same question Mona asked you, Asuka.

An imagination cloud appeared above showing Jeanne drinking with Venti.

Venti: Why do we sound the same?

Jeanne: Maybe it's a coincidence. Or maybe something else.

Then the imagination cloud went poof.

Vert: Being in our HDD forms really made the boys and men want to come back more often. I flirted with boys and men in both my normal form and HDD form and they wanted to come back to see me.

Himeko: The same thing with me. A beautiful woman serving them is what brings the boys and men back another day.

Drake: All the boys and men were staring at my cleavage.

Kiana: And now we're done with being bar tenders.

Patrick: Now we have to prepare for The Chasm.

Kiana: We should go to sleep.

Everyone leaves and goes to their bedrooms to go to sleep.
