Memory Fragment of Theresa

Otto: I did it.. I did it! All physio readings are normal. Just look at how amazing; how perfect this clone I created...

I was made inside a pod, a synthetic human created by combining the cells of an ancient Valkyrie, with those of a Honkai Beast. They call me Theresa. Unlike other girls, I have no parents.

All Otto servants are kneeling in front of Theresa and Otto with the two in the spotlight.

Otto, the overseer of Schicksal, tells me that he is my grandfather. When I turned 10, he told me that I am defective and will never reach adulthood. But I am the copy of the most powerful Valkyrie in history and I did what I could to live up her legacy.

I know people in Schicksal fear me and regard me as an abomination worse than Honkai itself. I even began to question my existence. Gramps said that I was created to protect the human race. But I could not find any reason that makes me want to protect them.

Gazebo, Schicksal

Two people were eating their cakes with one eating her own slice and also helping Theresa eat her slice.

But there was one person who didn't treat me like a monster or imperfect thing. Her name's Cecilia. The holy maid of the house of Schariac. She treated me with great gentleness and warmth. We were like sisters.

Something inside me disagrees with gramps. I didn't like serving the human race. But neither would I know that I would eventually find the special someone I want to protect. Gramps always told me that my sole purpose is to serve the human race.

To fulfill this purpose, gramps ordered me to do a lot of things. Even if those things that I heard and followed; knew were wrong. However, when Cecilia gave me that smile, I knew I would do anything to see her smile again. Even if it means I have to obey gramp's orders.

*opening season 1 plays*

In the Sakura village, it's all quiet with the cherry blossoms growing from the branches and other petals are flying away, following the wind's path.

Until this peaceful time was disturbed by a scream of a girl.

Theresa: KYAAA! *grumbles* I can't do this! I'm not like Kiana and Mei!

Theresa was blushing madly and covering her mouth as she pushed someone who woke her up. It was Yae who covered her mouth too after what they just did.

Yae: Well, at least you're awake now. You passed out and couldn't drink the herbal soup. So I had no choice but to use my mouth.

Theresa: Wait, so you did go mouth to mouth with me!!!!

Yes, that's how her first wakeup morning started. Two girls, one kissed her girl to wake her up. But aside from that, Yae was clearly not blushing as from what she did, she seemed used to it while Theresa wasn't.

Yae: It may be bitter, but the herbal soup can help you recover. Come, take off your clothes. I'll give you a bath.

Theresa doesn't have any full knowledge about how the Japanese in the past took a shower. So, Yae shows her that she had to bathe in this small basket which the bottom is flat, fit enough to put a small child on it.

(A/n: Does anyone know what year did they use this when taking a shower back in the Japan's old days?)

Theresa: A bath? 'Inside that little tub...?'

When she thinks that way, she blushes as bright as a tomato and covers herself with the blanket and starts acting like a 7 year old kid.

Theresa: No, no, no! I'm fine! I'm not a little baby! I can take care of myself! Just- Just leave the little tubby there!

Theresa's too shy from this as her thoughts are racing again towards the tuna and the thunder's... lovey-dovey moments, that even Y/n found it... disturbing; not even knowing himself that his awakening with Suletta and Miorine could be considered one.

Theresa: *pouts* 'This is so pervy! Only Kiana and Mei do this sort of stuff.'

Yae then notices her shy attitude and silently gasps.

Yae: 'This resemblance... Kallen?'

Then she starts to remember the past between her that still haunts and traumatizes her.

Yae: 'I can't... control my emotions... I miss her so much...'

Even Kyuubi's voice gives it away, trying to corrupt her soul and mind.

Kyuubi: Come to your senses! Kallen is no longer amongst the living. There is no salvation for you or your world, Yae Sakura!

Suddenly a woman's voice behind her fetches her.

Villager(♀): Miko-sama. Our meeting is about to begin.

Yae notices this and looks at Theresa to talk to her about her stay in this village.

Yae: Apologies, young miss. I have other matters to attend to. I'll leave the towel and the tub here for you. You may rest in the Shinto Shrine when you're done bathing. I have prepared some Onigiri for you as well.

Yae then stands up as Theresa can see the Onigiris served on a small banana leaf and on the wooden tray. She looked at the Foxian girl who is now starting to leave but stopped as she talked to her again.

Yae: I almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Yae Sakura. Who might you be?

Theresa: Oh.. I-I'm... Theresa.

Yae looked deeply into her eyes and said something before she left to deal with her meeting.

Yae: Very well, Theresa-sama. Please, make yourself at home.

To Y/n's location, he's now receiving training from his giant fox friend and training partner. From his physical appearance, his left side is covered by a thick, dark red energy and the other is only an orange cloak almost identical to Theresa's first transformation of her pink Kyuubi cloak mode.

Inside the mindscape, are the two battling each other. Y/n battles him without his armor and his weapon is only the sword with Kurama giving every bit he has to him.

He blocks a tail attack from Kurama with his sword and backs off, giving Kurama a chance to fire his small bombs from his mouth as Y/n dodges each one. As he takes a thrusting position with his sword when he jumps around him and positioned right behind him.

Y/n: Wide open!

Kurama: You're slow!

Kurama notices this too quickly as he uses his small tail enough to swat him away.

Y/n: Ow! No wonder you're so strong!

Kurama: Thank you. But don't do that, it makes me dumb by being reminded of what happened on that day.

Y/n: Umm, okay... Sure.

Kurama: Also, let's take a break for now.

Kurama: I want to talk with you about your relations with that girl named Theresa.

Y/n: Well, I... *shy and embarassed*

Kuruma: *chuckles* For real this time. What is your bond to her?

Flashback (St. Freya: Before Y/n's first teaching class session)

Theresa and Y/n are inside her office as they talk while drinking their hot drinks.

Theresa: You know, I was created from a fusion of Honkai beast and DNA from one of the ancient Valkyries. Otto said that I was created to protect and serve the human race. Even though the way I see their gaze makes me feel like I hated those words.

Y/n: So, then... What's the issue going on in your mind?

Theresa: I... *depressed sigh* There was once a person that I loved and treated like a human being, Her name is Cecilia Schariac.

Y/n listens intently while also writing down some info on his gauntlet gadget.

Theresa: She treats me like a little sister and that smile of hers makes me want to do anything to see her smile again. Even obeying my gramp's cruel orders...

Y/n keeps writing but he stops when he hears her silent sobs. Theresa is now crying as her tears are dripping down to her clothing. Y/n thinks of one way to comfort such a mature girl despite having the physical looks of a 10 year old child.

Y/n embraces her as her eyes widen, as she was surprised that he hugs her despite not knowing yet what happened to her that made her this way.

Y/n: Let me guess... Something happened that made you this way.

Theresa slowly nods as he can feel her head shaking up and down.

Theresa: But I... I don't know if I could-

Y/n: It's alright... I won't tell anybody if this weighs you more than before.

Theresa sniffles and wipes her tears as she tells her.

Theresa: It was during the 2nd eruption... The 2nd Herrscher herself is fighting with everything she has on us. It was just pure massacre that she's raining down on the people. The only way to finish the job is to arm the nuclear missiles. Cecilia was there alongside her partner, we can't risk it and I believed in them to finish the job.

Theresa's anger suddenly boiled as he could feel it from his arms that her face was slowly heating up.

Theresa: But my gramps just didn't care as he saw my hesitation, not even understanding why. He quotes: "Sacrifices must be made for humanity to survive", and then stripped my command and granted order to launch the nukes, all 12 of them...!

Y/n looks at her as he's now writing down who this Otto guy is with Theresa continuing the story of a certain horrible past .

Y/n: 'An a-hole and a selfish person... '

Theresa: After that, I only saw a giant mushroom smoke from where Cecilia's team is... Her partner lost faith and trust in Schicksal for killing his wife.

Y/n: *noted down* 'Siegfried: wife of Cecilia Schariac and a lone Knight.'

Theresa: *sobs* Even though my misery stopped when I met her, I feel angry and desperate trying to find my reason for my existence. *cries* So please... tell me, why do I still exist? What is my reason for my existence?

Y/n then remembers his original, Setsuna asking himself the same question back in his child soldier days. He then connects it towards the answer he finally found during the ELS invasion.

Y/n: You're alive and trying to live.

Theresa then starts to grab his collar and pushes him on the sofa. Tears dripping onto his face as all he sees now is a desperate Valkyrie who's trying to find her answers from her suffering and blind loyalty to Otto for too long.

Theresa: So then... Why do I have trouble seeing it from eye to eye?!

Y/n: 'I knew it...' *breathes* The very fact that we humans have intelligence causes misunderstandings over the slightest of things. It leads to deceit and then discrimination. We become unable to understand each other.

Theresa slowly lets go of him as she pauses and lets him sit up straight.

Y/n: People just don't know what keeps them apart from us. So that's why, it's up to us to show them. We might not be able to do it to your old geezer, but we can do it to others.

Theresa: W-We?

Y/n: Yes; me, you, and the others at Hyperion. We can help your next generation of Valkyries including the current.

Theresa: But how-?

Y/n then lets go of her and pats her head which makes her blush as she sees his smile.

Y/n: *smiles* Don't worry, it's me and the Herrscher, remember? We have a plan. We always are. Now, let's get back to work, I bet those students are getting bored now.

Theresa just saw his kind smile as he left the room and gently closed the door on the way out.

Y/n: And, that's pretty much about it.

Kurama: *sigh* You do know you'll be the death of them in the near future, right?

Y/n: ...

He didn't speak any further as he knows that his stay here in this simulated world is counting down and running out slowly with his interference altering and changing the course of history.

Y/n: But time will tell and come that those girls can do it without me to rely on. But I'll return soon when something comes up that I don't know but could be a possible crisis.

Kurama looks at him as he already knows that he's just like when he meets the trailblazing traveler Setsuna until he hears that he has soon disappeared to this world. Then Y/n hears multiple voices; one of them is a woman's.

Matatabi: Your attitude and composure is almost the same as your original. It's too sad though you look different.

A blue fiery cat with two tails appeared inside Y/n's mind as he saw her with a woman sitting on top.

Yugito: I was able to meet him and never thought that his life in the past was so horrible like ours back then.

Y/n: I'm so sorry, we apologize for it-

Yugito: Stop, Y/n. We know but it's time to forget about it and focus on the future. The future of Theresa and Yae's to be precise.

Y/n: *nods* Hm. You're right. And I might need her and your buddy's help too.

Matatabi: Yes, the final pieces of the puzzle. Although we can only give you enough and after that, you're gonna be on your own. We'll only help where we need to.

Y/n: Thank you, everyone.

Matatabi: By the way, where's your friend who entered here?

Y/n: Oh, uh...

Whilst Y/n is having a break after an intense training; Mei is in a forest filled with Sakura trees along with Sasuke to train her to get stronger, or to be precise Sasuke watches her performance against the powerful, advanced clones he created. They've been doing this since they wake up at 4 AM after they arrived in this sector 7 hours prior today.

Mei dodges another as she punches and kicks every clone she can attack or counter, but some of the clones' attacks were dealing damage on her as it proves that Sasuke was never meant to be underestimated.

But her training is only the tip of the iceberg as she'll try to catch up on Y/n as she can feel that Y/n is getting stronger too.

Back to Theresa; she was exploring the shrine around her while eating onigiri as she analyzed the shrine's looks, designs, structures and its nature.

Theresa: *nom-nom* Mmm... *swallows* This Onigiri is pretty good. I think I had this before. Now where is this place? It looks pretty Japanese to me...

Theresa then tries to review and refresh herself of what happened before she got here.

Theresa: Ok, let's try to rehash what I did before I got here... *remembers the briefing for Chiba mission* I was in the principal's office, and then someone told me to get beer... *remembers her encounter with Pseudo-Herrscher* and then I dealt with some thorny girl... *remembers Y/n's Plutone form but it's too foggy* But it was too strong and then someone got involved... * remembers spider-bear Honkai encounter* Then there's that terrible weakness! I never felt this helpless in my life!

Theresa aggressively ate the last onigiri in utter disappointment and anger. But when her fingertips suddenly touched her lips she remembered the recent kiss she got from the foxian priestess.

Theresa: And that fox-eared priestess who took care of me... Her lips, they're so soft and moist. It felt as though... *remembers seeing Yae's spirit handing over her life force and forming the stigmata at her* I remember now! During that battle against the thorny creep, some fox-eared priestess also gave me a kiss! And then I felt some strange stigma on my back...

She then looks behind her to check the stigmata formed on her back before, only thing is it's not there when she felt and checked it.

Theresa: Wait, I can't feel that stigma anymore, it's gone...

But suddenly she heard a voice beside her, whispering.

???: Hear me, lady with silver hair...

She was startled and looked to her left and saw a grave with words carved at the tombstone but then in front of it, a spirit of a pink haired girl appeared in a sad and depressed expression. She then pleaded at her even if she was a spirit form and nobody hears it except for Theresa.

???: Please, help me... Please release my sister from the painful memories that she's cursed with...

Theresa: Wait! Who are you?

???: Only you along with the chosen one and the samurai who's not of this world can deliver her back to the light of the celestial beings from eternal pain.

She then suddenly vanished as the winds with Sakura blowing around her covered her spirit and vanished.

Theresa was having multiple questions with one of them being a ghost event.

Theresa: She just vanished into thin air...! And what was she talking about? And is this a gravestone? So then, she's... a ghost...? KYAAAA!!!!!

2 hours later

Mei arrived at the shrine from the top of the mountain. She then remembers when she was trained by Sasuke to look out for.

Flashback

Mei is now departing with Sasuke using his purple eye called Rinnegan to depart.

Mei: Are you leaving already?

Sasuke: Yes, my friends just found my location. I have another issue to be dealt with there.

Mei: What is it?

Sasuke: Let's just say, it's my friend's memory recollection involved. (A/n: It's set during the Naruto x Boruto Connections story.) And also... keep an eye on those rituals they held, I can sense some disgusting people over there.

Flashback end

Mei arrives as she sees the people there as she buys some snacks to take a break. But then she hears rumors and chatter in one of the rooms. She then leans her head in it.

???: This village never had any monster problems until that girl showed up!

???: That must be the harbinger of ruin! We must cast her out

Every word she can hear is of discrimination, neglect, protesting and barbaric opinions. But one opinion stands out:

???: Those monsters killed my husband! We must make the silver haired girl pay!

Mei: 'Silver-haired girl... Wait, that means Theresa's here?!'

Mei's thoughts were interrupted when she was suddenly by a hand on her shoulder as she looked behind only to find Y/n with his index finger in front of his lips and shaking his head.

Mei just looked at him in surprise as he did the same gesture of what she did. He can hear those people's arguments with Yae's conversation to them denying everything.

Yae: There's no proof that the monster attacks were caused by the silver-haired girl.

???: You must be kidding! There's no need for any investigation!

???: You are the Miko(Shrine Maiden) of this village! You're supposed to protect us!

Yae: *sincere bow* Please give me more time. I will look into this monster attack and put an end to it.

One of the citizens is a young adult man who now talks to her who happens to be the village chief and the father of Yae Sakura.

Village Chief: Miko-sama... That girl may have nothing to do with the monster attacks. But remember this: the day of offering is coming.

Yae: Father... I mean, milord. Do you plan to use her as an offering?

Village Chief: The village has not received a drop of rain for 3 months. The gods have made it clear. That girl is no mere passerby. She is a gift from the heavens.

Yae: But...

Village Chief: The gods must be sated to avert disaster. If we don't offer this gaijin(Outsider), then we have to offer a young girl from this village. Rin gladly gave up her life for the village. Do you want her sacrifice to be in vain?

From the sidelines, Y/n can hear the giant cat's thoughts.

Matatabi: That man might have no remorse from what he said.

But suddenly his hand and Mei's glowed to their respective colors.

Y/n: *hand glow green* What the-

Kurama: Y/n, something's happening!

Mei: *glow's purple* What's going on?

HoT: 'We have a problem...'

Suddenly, their powers were flaring up and they were pulled into a dimension.

Nee-chan! You must become a good Miko!

*glass shatters*

A miko's duty is to feed the gods

She must uphold her duty!

I can't keep doing this!

Why must we feed the gods?

Satisfy the Gods!

Cast yourself into the darkness!

Gods! Please release me!

You are beyond redemption!

Murderer! You've killed your own!

The two were watching and listening to Yae's inner thoughts, traumas and demons she's been fighting with for ages. They can't believe that this girl has been suppressing this urge for too long.

But suddenly they heard someone sliding the divider aggressively to the other side and saw Theresa interfering.

Theresa: STOP! Ganging up on a young girl like this? That's so brave of you people! You should be ashamed of this! Offering girls for sacrifice? Are you savages?! There is no god existing here!!!

Y/n and Mei's eyes widened as she just barged in, not even thinking straight that she's making the situation worse than it already was. But for Y/n, she said those things like how his younger version of his original has before.

Setsuna: 'In this world... There is no god...!'

Theresa: Your fate is not decided by these false gods! We humans have the power to forge our own destiny!

The citizens are clearly distraught by this and start to be a racist and offending person.

???: The gaijin is insulting the gods!

???: Her blasphemy will doom our village!

???: The gaijin is a witch! Just look at her accursed white hair!

???: Witch! You killed my husband! You vile murderer!

But then, the two Herrscher vessels heard someone in their thoughts.

We shall feed the gods with this witch!

Theresa heard it too as she was too late to see a sharp stone throwed and aimed at her head. But someone pushes her out of the way and it's Yae taking the hit on the forehead creating a wound, bleeding out with blood.

Theresa: Sakura!

Yae; Milord... Please give me more time to prepare...

Y/n and Mei almost interfered as their hands were gripping tightly into the sword. They can hear that the village chief made a sound that nobody heard except the Herrschers.

Village Chief: 'Tsk...' Very well, we will end the meeting now.

Theresa saw the others leave, leaving the two and the other two outside remain. However the village chief turns to her as a snide and manipulative bastard.

Village Chief: Miko-sama. I know this girl reminds you of that b**ch. But please remember, your duty is to protect this village. Your foolish decision has cost us dearly. I am the one keeping us alive.

Theresa was looking at the village chief, confused. But for Yae, she saw a disturbing image of the citizens wearing fox masks and the bastard wearing the mask with a joker smile.

The Herrschers sensed and saw some of the citizens covered in dark pink and with the village chief being the darkest of all.

Village Chief: I knew you were trying to kill me. But your desire to live foiled your plans. That little girl gave you some sweet, sweet hope. Once we killed her and consumed her soul. Sakura, you will become our plaything. We will be together for all eternity.

Mei and Y/n noticed this and the Village Chief left already with Theresa in confusion.

Theresa: What did he mean by that?

Theresa felt a wind flow behind her. She turns around to see a slightly opened divider and opens it.

Theresa: Who's there?!

She found nothing when she opened it. Theresa tries to look to her sides but still nothing. She just goes back to Yae but not glancing a bit at the tree and closing the divider.

Rin: You arrived in time, descenders.

The part of the tree was now distorted showing it's just an illusion. Revealing Y/n and Mei meeting up with the spirit of Yae Rin.

Y/n: I never thought that it would be this bad.

Mei: Yes, those Honkai flowing around those dark persons, it could mean only one thing.

Y/n: The Honkai has goons at its disposal. We've got to save Theresa and Yae at the same time.

Mei: But how, though? We can't just do this in broad daylight.

Rin: Perhaps they can...

Rin's fingers pointed to their right and saw the people wearing something on their foreheads.

???: We've been waiting for you two. We were told by her spirit that you would come one day, Ghost of the White Fox and the Shadow of the Thunder.

They saw a man with a different headband but the sleeves are covering its left side eye and has a scar on his right side.

Mei: Who are you guys?

Y/n: Wait... have you guys been part of this village before?

???: It's a long story, kid but yes. We were part of this village before until we decided to flee temporarily because of its barbaric doings and now trying to reclaim it again.

Mei: You've been at war for reclaiming the village here?

???: Yes. Also, call me Obito. I'm one of the captains of this platoon.

Mei: Okay, it's a pleasure Obito.

Y/n: How about you tell us the story on the way back to where your location is as we have a mission too.

Obito: What is your mission here?

Y/n: Saving two of my friends who are about to become sacrificial lambs.
