You say you want women to have the equal rights and to be treated right. So raise your son with the ideal of women as his equivalent. Build him up, but not in ways that tear others down. If you start off glorifying him as a future heartbreaker from the moment he can walk, you've begun to lean into the source of the problem.

Reverse the ages of toxic masculinity. When he comes home from school sniffling, let him cry. Tell him it's okay to feel and give him your shoulder to rest his head. Lend him your ears. Let him know it is okay to feel happy and angry as long as he lets himself feel all the things in-between.

Teach him to cook, clean, and find solitude in himself before he expects these things of someone else. Let him want to be sufficient for himself, and not in the hopes of providing it for someone else.

You will be so much prouder of your son when he is raised to respect women like your daughter.
