A scream filled the room as the woman woke up crying out loud and two figures rushed into the room. They tried to console her but she lost her consciousness. Her face was tear stricken and pale. She looked so weak and tired as if she had seen every worry of the world. Her hair was matted to her forehead and temples due to sweat. Her form was so lean and shrunk. Baggy eyes and dark circles gave a gaunt look on her face. The two who had rushed in had tears brimming in their eyes as they moved out of the room in silence after adjusting the pillows and blanket.

Mallika : Siddharth, I am so worried for her. She was already in a bad state three months back and now after the divorce... it's getting worse.

Sid: I am more scared than worried, Mallika. If this goes on, this fear and depression will kill her.

Mallika : Only if Shivaay had been rational...

Sid: Anika is no less.

Mallika : I just hope the Oberoi family gets to know the truth... or else...

Sid: They will regret it later... and the guilt will be unbearable.

The two gave scared glances to each other and left to their room.

The next morning, the Rana family were waiting for Anika.

Vikram: Why isn't she here? Is she fine?

Ketaki : Sid, nightmare?

Siddharth nodded his head while the older couple gave a sigh of distress.

Mallika : Anika...

The Rana family sees Anika nearing them with an emotionless face and feeble steps dressed in a plain kurta.

Ketaki : Good morning Anika.

Anika gave a fake smile and a small nod. The four hide their distress and move to the dining area with Anika. And as usual they sighed as Anika had a meagre amount of food and left the table. Mallika too goes behind her to find Anika sitting in the hall. She joins her and Mallika flickers through the channels. She stops changing as the rest join. As everyone focus on the news channel, they get stunned. The Rana family looks at Anika and sees her having a small smile on her face – A genuine smile. They felt happy and sad as the smile was due to Shivaay's presence on the screen. But soon the smile vanished and anguish filled her eyes when Shivaay's extended hand held another feminine hand with the Oberoi family behind. All were happy on the screen. The Rana family were burning in anger which turned into worry seeing Anika in pain. Tears made way through Anika's eyes. She was not able to hear the news but she knew it's happening. She knew she was going to lose her love and soul forever.

The Rana family were helpless as they saw Anika crumbling before them. They saw her shattering but they were bound by a promise. Just like Anika had bound Tia, Dushyanth and Khanna. Anika stood and moved to the stairs and before the Rana family could concur about the next thing, they saw Anika falling into a heap.

Mallika: ANIKA...

Vikram: Sid, get the car.

Vikram lifted Anika and took her to the car. Sid drove the car with Vikram on the passenger seat. Ketaki and Mallika cradled Anika's head and legs respectively. The women were desperately trying to wake up Anika but will she wake up?

Ketaki: Anika, please wake up.

Sid: Mallika, inform Tia and Dushyanth.

Mallika nodded feebly and sent a message to Tia asking her to reach the hospital. Soon they reached the hospital and Anika was taken to the ward.

Doctor: Again?

Ketaki nodded while the doctor left to see Anika with a painful sigh. Tia and Dushyanth rush in at that moment. Mallika hugs Tia and cries while Tia is also in a crying mess.

Ketaki: Tia, you are pregnant. Don't cry.

Tia: This is just too much to bear, aunty. She is broken completely. And today's news...

Dushyanth : They had almost killed her a month back. And now...

With this their minds went back to the day which was a month ago, when Shivaay and Anika were in the court for their final divorce hearing. Anika's character was tarnished and ripped apart. The lawyer of the Oberois made Anika feel low with his words. But those words supported by the Oberoi family and Shivaay and even Sahil shattered her. The Rana family, Tia, Dushyanth and Khanna were feeling miserable but one pleading look from Anika shut them up. As soon as the divorce was granted Mallika dragged Anika to her car and sped away. Siddharth and vikram warned the media to leave Anika. The Oberoi family were confused with the anger of the Rana family, Tia and Dushyanth. But they neglected it and left. That was the last when Anika saw the Oberoi family and vice versa.

At the present, they came out of their thoughts as the doctor came out.

Doctor : Before you ask... she is fine for now.

Vikram: Can't we do something?

Doctor : That lies with Anika, Mr. Rana.

Sid: And there's no use to it.

Dushyanth : If only she hadn't bound us by her promise.

The doctor left while the others were left in silence. After sometime

Mallika : I will be with Anika.

The others nod and leave as this was happening since three months and it had become worse. Mallika enters Anika's ward and finds her shedding tears.

Mallika(angry): Why are you still crying for those people who never understood you?

Anika slowly looked at her with teary eyes and

Anika: But it was with them that I got a family.. And it's me who ruined it, not them. Not Shivaay or Sahil.

Mallika: Anika, just answer my one question. Would you have done the same if it was any of them in your place?

Anika was left stunned and remained silent.

Mallika: You wouldn't ,Anika and that is troubling me. You would never hurt them but they...

Anika: I don't want to talk about that, Mallika.

Mallika stopped sensing the pain in her voice and soon the doctor came and discharged Anika. They left to Rana mansion and Anika was made to sleep. The rest were worried and angry.

Mallika: Shivaay has lost his mind.

Tia: No, Mallika. It's his mind that is making him crazy. If he had listened to his heart...

Dushyanth : Our concern is Anika. We can't let her kill herself.

Sid: The Oberois need to know the truth but all of us are bound by her swear.

Ketaki: I have never seen a mother to be so cruel.

Vikram: We must do something. It's because of Anika that my son and daughter are happy.

Ketaki: If Anika hadn't saved Mallika on that day...

Sid: Mom.

Ketaki: We need to do something for her.

Dushyanth : I have a doubt if Shivaay is really illegitimate. I feel something wrong in this.

Tia: Dushyanth, why would Mrs Oberoi lie over this?

Mallika: Because her hatred for Anika is greater than her love for Shivaay.

Sid: Mallika, call Khanna and get to know about today's news.

Mallika nodded and called Khanna and got to know that the girl was Ragini Malhotra and the engagement was fixed in two days.

Tia: We have just two days.

Dushyanth : Last us clear our confusion and then talk to Anika. Until then, we must be discreet.

All nodded and left for their work.

While on the other side in Oberoi mansion, everyone had a smile on their faces but there was a lingering distress. Pinky was so happy and was praising Ragini. Omruriya were in a dilemma but they managed it by believing Anika's lies. The same was with Sahil. The elders were just going with the situation. But Shivaay...

Shivaay's room

The room is dark with just a small lamp at a corner. Shivaay was standing by the window and was in deep thoughts.

Shivaay : Why am I feeling restless as if she... no... I must not think about her. She insulted my family and is a gold digger. She showed her true colours on that day. She is not worthy to have a family. But why are Tia, Dushyanth and the Rana family with her. They are protecting her add and.. Should I call Mallika? No, that would not do. Or should I call Tia?

Shivaay's thoughts were disturbed by a knock on the door and he opens the door to see Omru.

Om: The designers have come. We have to select our dresses for the function.

Omru were solemn and Shivaay leaves with them silently. The entire family was busy chasing when Khanna came there.

Khanna: Sir?

Shivaay : Yes, Khanna.

Khanna: Sir, I...

Just then Khanna's phone rang and he saw that it was Mallika. Without thinking he attended the call in a hurry and listening to the other side, he dropped the phone in shock and rushed out in panic. The Oberois are shocked while Bhavya picked the phone and saw Mallika as the caller ID and put the phone on speaker.

Mallika: Khanna, Khanna... are you listening? I am so scared. Anika is no where to be found and her condition is not good. She fainted again in the morning and we had just come from the hospital. She was resting in her room and when I went to see her after sometime she is not there. She is not in good state. You know right. Khanna, are you there? Please search for her. We are searching b... but she is... I am so scared. I am scared they she might take some wrong step. Do... so... something.

The phone was cut with Mallika choking on her words. The Oberoi family stood rooted. Shivaay was having a dreadful feeling. None were able to speak. Pinky was scared that the family might look into Anika's case. Shivaay came out of his thoughts with the sound of Khanna's phone hitting the ground as Bhavya had left it in shock.

Shivaay immediately took his phone and called Mallika. Mallika was furious and rejected his calls twice and attended it the third time. Shivaay had the phone on speaker.

Mallika: What the hell do you want now, Mr. Oberoi? Can't you understand that I am not interested to talk with you now?

Shivaay : What had happened to Anika?

Mallika : Why should I answer you? Who are you to her?

Shivaay : She is my...

Shivaay stopped abruptly while the others are also speechless.

Mallika: No words, Mr. Oberoi! As expected.

Shivaay : Mallika...

Mallika: You people had killed that Anika I had first met, Shivaay. When I saw her three months back, she was... (cries) Why should I even answer you? If you really want to know something... go ask your mother. She could give the best answer being the best mother to the best son of the best family.

Mallika's sarcastic words were lace switch poison that it sent shivers down his spine while the others were flabbergasted. Pinky was sweating as Mallika cut the call.

Shivaay: Maa, what did Mallika mean?

Pinky: Shivaay, you are doubting your mother? That Anika has made them against us. Anika is a gold digger.

Voice(shouts): ENOUGH MRS. OBEROI.

Pinky jerks and then everyone see Khanna who is furious.

Khanna: Not a word against my sister. I know who was at fault. It's only because of her swear that we are bring silent. But one more word... none would be worse than me.

Saying this Khanna left picking up his phone. The Oberois are scared and look at Pinky who was shaking with fear.

Shivaay: Maa, don't lie and say the truth if you truly love me.

Pinky: Shivaay, you are my everything. I am saying the truth. I don't know why they are blaming me?

While the rest are confused, Shivaay feels different. His heart feels a soothing calmness and his eyes shine and lips curve involuntarily as he utters slowly...

Shivaay : Anika...

With the silence, everyone hear Shivaay and look at him while Shivaay shifts his sight from Pinky to the door and he saw her there. Anika stood at the entrance of Oberoi mansion with her head bent. Shivaay could not help but notice her lean and pale form and how she looked weak. That pinched his heart and he dreaded about her health as Mallika's words rang in his ears.

Following his line of vision, the family turns to see Anika and gasp.

Dadi: Anika?

Anika without lifting her head and staying out said in a low voice.

Anika: I am not here to disturb you. I... I just came to cong... congratulate Shi... Mr. Oberoi.

Shivaay felt his body go cold with Anika addressing him as Mr. Oberoi. Anika's dull voice made everyone teary and her weak state killed them. But none moved from their place as they were numb with the events. They came out of their thoughts with a small voice.

Shivaay: Are you leaving?

The family then saw that had turned and she replied without turning back.

Anika: I have nothing to stay back or hold onto. It's better that I leave.

Anika's words added to Shivaay's distress as he felt that her words had another meaning.

Shivaay: How did you come here? By car...

Anika: Goodbye, Mr Oberoi.

Anika started leaving but turned back once and but did not raise her head. Shivaay was watching her every move and just then her phone rang. Anika lifted the phone and cut the call. Seeing her leave, Shivaay rushed to her without his knowledge as his legs led him to her on its own. He held her hand and felt her go stiff. Her hands were so fragile and he turned her towards him delicately.

Shivaay: Anika, look at me.

Anika had her bent as Shivaay held his hand. Omru slowly stood by Shivaay and looked at the duo. The Oberoi brothers waited for one glimpse from the weak woman before them who was a stranger than her earlier self. .the earlier Anika who had the guts to face Shivaay Singh Oberoi and who never backed down or accepted defeat before anyone. But now it seems that that woman was lost. They realised that it was their mistake and that scared the hell out of them.

Shivaay(gulping): Anika, look at me once.

Anika tries to pull her palms that were caged between his palms but his grip was strong.

Anika: Please let me go, Shivaay.

Shivaay: I will not let you go, Anika.

Anika: You already did, Shivaay. And now you must hold onto... Ragini.

With this a drop of tear rolled down her cheek and fell on Shivaay's hand. Shivaay lifted his one hand and slowly raised her chin. Anika had her eyes closed while tears escaped her eyes. The dark circles around her eyes and her pale face made Shivaay helpless. Omru were equally helpless. Anika's words added to their misery.

Shivaay: Anika, look at me. Open your eyes.

Shivaay was choking but still held her palms. Anika again tried to remove her hand but Shivaay was unrelenting. Finally with a painful sob Anika opened her eyes. Shivaay's breath stuck in his throat seeing the raw emotions in her eyes. Her eyes were screaming pain and fear. Shivaay was dumbfounded with the vulnerability in her eyes. Shivaay tightened his hold on her hands and his eyes were stuck on hers. He felt weak in his knees seeing the fragile woman before him. Omru gasped as the pain in her eyes were too much for them to bear. The others were confused as the three men had hid Anika as they stood before her.

While most of them were curious, Pinky was scared and Ragini was furious.

Shivaay: Anika, tell me the truth. Did my mother do something?

Anika's eyes reflected fear and that was another blow to Shivasy as this confirmed Pinky's involvement.

Anika: Isn't it too late now, Shivaay?

Her question snatched his soul as he again felt something wrong with her words. Omru were getting restless with each passing second. Then they heard the question that was nagging everyone.

Shakti : What did you do, Pinky?

Pinky was shaking with fear as all eyes were on her. Anika was scared... still worried that he would shatter.

Ragini : How could you blame her? I am sure it's Anika's ...

Jhanvi : Ragini, you stay out of this. Pinky, we want the truth. If you are not wrong why are you scared ?

Anika: I am at fault. Pinky aunty has nothing to do with my decision. It was me. She is not at fault.

Shivaay looked at Anika who was defending his mother. He was sure now that his mother had done something as Pinky's fear and Anika's tears and the anger of certain people pointed to it.

Shivaay: Mom, say the truth. Or else I will myself look for it and if I come to know that you are at fault O will never forgive you. It's better that you say everything.

Anika: No, there's nothing. There's ....

Anika's words faded and she collapsed while Shivaay held her close to his heart.

Shivaay: Anika, Anika.

The rest were worried and Mallika's words haunted them.

Om: Shivaay... hospital...

None of them were in the right state of mind and Shivaay rushed out with Anika in his arms. On the way to the hospital, Bhavya called Mallika and informed her. Anika was wheeled into the ICU and the Oberoi family with Ragini stood outside. Soon the Ranas, Tia, Dushyanth and Khanna reached there and we're furious at the Oberois.

Mallika : Why are you still behind her? Wasn't it enough that you had killed her character that you want to finish her forever?

Ru: No, she was there at Oberoi mansion. And she was talking... and she just fainted.

Dushyanth : She had gone there to meet you after you had done the worst to her. She...

Dushyanth stopped with the simultaneous pings in the phones of the Ranas, Tia, Dushyanth and Khanna.

There was a single message from Anika that she had timed three hours after her disappearance from Rana mansion. It was an audio message. Mallika opened her video and everyone heard the message.

"I know that you would be searching me like mad people. I know. And I am sorry for worrying you. But I am fed up...with life. I had been holding onto a useless thread... and it has also broken. You have been with me during this... lowest phase and am so grateful for that. But I can't (chokes). It's suffocating me. I want to cry and vent out my pain but am afraid to cry our as it shows that am destitute. I am feeling empty and this void is engulfing. I am scared if this darkness. But am happy that I had protected my light from being diminished. He is my sun but he is far away. I am his moon and my presence or absence will not matter to him. But.. (cries) this life without him... and the tarnishing of my self respect has made me vulnerable. My life had nothing more to live for. And I can't be a burden on you anymore. I know you love me and would be angry on me. But... am sorry. Just don't let them know about this. They will feel bad. Don't let Shivaay know the truth... nor should the Oberoi family knows about it. Let Anika be a characterless woman to them. Take care of them and don't be angry on them. They are just protecting their family... as I did mine. And Sahil... I am not worried. He has got Shivaay. Sorry for leaving you. But I want some peace. I had never lived in peace... at least let me die in peace. Bye."

All were numb. Shivaay fell on his knees and let out a painful cry that made every soul shiver. He didn't let anyone near him who were trying to console him. He crawled towards Mallika and held onto her feet that shocked everyone. Mallika was stunned as she held his hands and sat to his level.

Shivaay: Mallika, please say the truth. I am not going to ask for a chance from her. I just want her to live... In peace. Please, I am begging you.

This was unexpected and dreamy to everyone. Mallika was confused between her anger for Shivaay and her love for Shivaay as a friend. As she was oscillating between her thoughts, the doctor came out.

Doctor : It's again a stress attack. But she is still critical. She is just murmuring Shivaay. So...

Vikram: Can Shivaay meet her?

Doctor : Yeah, after sometime.

As the doctor left, Shivasy looked at Vikram like a child. The Oberois were perplexed and the Ranas, Tia, Dushyanth and Khanna were taken aback.

Sid: Dad, but...

Vikram: Anika loved him and loves him too much to bear everything. It was her love for him that made her to feel death as a sign of peace. And it is the same love that would rejuvenate her will to live. He is at fault... I know... but still he is the one who could cure her. But before meeting her, let him know the truth. We are bound by her swear but (with fury) Mrs Oberoi isn't .

Shivaay bowed his head in shame while the rest were crying.

Ru: Choti maa, you better say the truth.

Pinky: I... didn't ...

Dadi: Pinky, if you still deny, I will throw you out of the house. Your fear clearly shows that you are at fault.

Pinky was scared as she was corners and soon she narrated everything in fear and was stammering with her words. As she finished,

Pinky: But it was a lie, Shivaay. I lied to her. She didn't have naam, khoon or khaandaan. She...

Pinky was stunned with the tight slap given to her by Ketaki.

Ketaki (shouts) : You lied... you... do you even know that she is dying in pain? These three months we had never seen her smile except the times Shivaay was mentioned or seen. She was killing herself with the thought of hurting Shivaay and his family. But you... I feel disgusted...

Pinky saw the Oberoi family looking at her with hatred. Ragini had left as she was sure of her engagement being cancelled. Pinky looked at Shivaay was in the same position.

Pinky: Shivaay, please forgive me. I..did it for you.

Shivaay: Dadi, ask this woman to never come before me. If she ever comes before me again, I swear that I will kill her.

Pinky: Shivaay...

Shivaay : Just leave. I am not able to meet my own eyes. I am feeling disgusted with my existence. I am feeling worthless to have believed you and leaving my... no...I can't say that... leaving her hands. I am feeling useless as I had broke every promise I had made to her. I don't want her forgiveness... I just want her to be alright. That's it. But I don't want you near me.

Shakti: Khanna, I know that you hate us. But please do me one last favor. Throw this woman out if here and make sure that she doesn't come anywhere near us.

Khanna nodded and dragged Pinky despite her loud pleadings and wails.

Mallika: Shivaay, I am no one to forgive you or punish you. We had seen her suffering, Shivaay. We had seen her crying and screaming your name at night. She denied herself from having proper rest and food. And if you are the way to bring back that Anika I had seen first, then am fine with you being with her. But I will not forgive or forget your deeds. Not just yours but... your family's too. Sahil is a child... so it's OK.

Sahil: Can I meet Anika di? I want to ask sorry to her.

Shivaay looked at Sahil and took him in a tight hug while the rest were in tears.

After sometime Anika opened her eyes to see herself in the hospital. But she felt a warmth unlike the other times when she felt only coldness. She shifted her eye to see her lifelines... Shivaay and Sahil who were crying silently. Their eyes were red and faces were pale. That hurt her and she saw them scared.

Anika: Sahil...

Sahil hugged his Anika Didi tightly and muttered numerous sorries among his hiccups. Anika felt warmth creeping into her soul though Sahil's cries hurt her.

Sahil: I am sorry, Di. You are the best. I will never hurt you again. I am so bad. You give me any punishment Di. But please don't hate me. I will die.

Anika: SAHIL. Don't ever say that. I love you and will always love you. You are my child. Do you get it? And no mother will hate her child. Now stop crying. And for your punishment, don't ever hate me and stay with me.

Sahil nodded his head and kissed her on the cheek and left giving his Didi and Jiju their privacy. Anika was looking at Shivaay who had his bent, refusing to meet her eyes.

Anika: Shivaay...

Shivaay: Why Anika? Why do you love me so much to kill yourself? Why did you bear so much pain for me? She had lied to you, Anika. I am her son.

Anika gasped at this and felt miserable. Shivaay was still on the same position. Anika reached for his palms and held them to her heart.

Anika : Because this beats for you, Shivaay.

Shivaay snapped up and Anika gulped in pain fear seeing his orbs emanating guilt and pain.

Anika: I don't know when I fell in love with you, Shivaay. But it was magical and it made me feel at peace. I was happy being with you though you never spoke about you love for me. .your actions made me feel your love. When it was snatched, I felt my world end... and all those accusations left me feeling empty. I know that it was me who had made you hate me. But...

Shivaay: Don't forgive me so soon, Anika. Take your time. It's not enough that you love and trust me. I must learn to do it. Before I express my love for you, I must make myself worthy of you and your heart. Before you forgive me, you must feel my love and trust. I must repent for the sin I have committed. I had always took you for granted. And I promise that I will become your Shivaay, Anika's Shivaay before gaining your forgiveness. I will wait to feel your love, Anika. I had damaged you beyond limits... I will heal you. You are not my moon, Anika. You are the gravity that keeps me at my place. I am not the sun I had promised to be. But I will try to be your light. I am selfish Anika. I know that am not worthy to be given a chance. But am still asking for it as I am incomplete without you. And don't ever think of leaving me forever. Saying this Anika was left alone with a lingering kiss on her forehead. The rest of the Oberois also met her and asked for a chance. And then came her family who was with her during her tough time. She had to listen to a list of profanities and scoldings but she smiled and that was enough for them they were still angry with the Oberois but they were ready to give them a chance for Anika.

And it began. Anika refused to go back to Oberoi mansion. She left with the Ranas taking Sahil along with her. She was ready to give them a chance. But they must earn it. Though Anika felt bad, she remained stubborn so that her self respect was protected.

Shivaay and his family cleared Anika's name and Shakti divorced Pinky. All of them made different efforts in healing Anika and in bringing back her lost confidence. They were hell bent on getting back their khidkhithod Anika and they et y stopped at nothing to accomplish it. Shibvaay had become more romantic and expressive. They went on dates and long drives. But everyone he had to face a protective father, caring mother, four possessive brothers and two mad sisters. Still he enjoyed it.

Anika enjoyed the most adorable she was pampered by both the families. She now felt safe and warm. Her pale skin began glowing; her gaunt eyes began sparkling; her thinking laughter was heard often... .the khidkhithod Anika was coming back. She had started living and that brought happiness around. Her happiness was felt by everyone and that calmed their chaotic hearts.

Shivaay felt the beauty of love. He was scared of one thing... that he must never hurt Anika in the future. Her state on that dreadful day had made him die a million times. He swore to himself to never be the reason of her pain again. With that the tadibaaz Shivaay too came back. And that started the usual Billu and Billi fights. Water was thrown, Anika's weird dictionary was used... by both(shocking, right? 😮). It was like before.

Though the scars would remain, they would be a reminder for the future to never lose trust on your love. Those painful moments taught them to cherish their love and the moments with each other. Shivaay and Anika again began their journey of love that had stopped midway because of their mistakes. But now with everything in place, they were ready to embark on a beautiful path. They were ready to face every obstacle in the future as they are inevitable. But they were together and that made them strong and made their future bright.

Well!, it would be as they were getting married again as the great SSO had proposed infront of the entire family and that included her family too and now it was one single family with the rivalry long forgotten and friendship blooming. The bride and the groom were enjoying the rituals they had missed earlier and finally they tied the knot among their family with a huge and private celebration marking their victory as ishqbaazis.
