Will You Be My Frog? (Dirk X Otaku!MLPlover!Reader)
**This one might be a little short, but I'll make it cute. I'm going to be doing one of those live things on my instagram (gamzeeoranyhomestuck) after I post this, anyone can join! I'll be playing the ukulele, answering any questions, doing any requests/writing down requests for oneshots, and telling y'all about myself. Enjoy the oneshot!**
There she is. Every Wednesday at 1:15 and 2:15 in the children's corner in the library. Of course, I never go to the corner because she's there, what are you talking about? I'm only here for the manga and the occasional non-fiction book for school. I am not obsessing over a girl who is sweet with children and humorous with fables, definitely not.
Until she waved me over, that is.
"Hey, you in the anime shades!" I jerk my head up from the book on biology and look at the kiddy corner. Y/n L/n, female, age (Your age). She waves excitedly and gestures for me to come over. I close my book and place it back on the shelf. I can always grab it later. Up close, I could see her eyes were a light e/c and it looked like sparkles twinkled in the light. She was wearing a shirt with Satan from "The Devil is a Part-Timer!", one of my personal favorites. "Yes?" I say in a quiet voice. We still are in a library, after all. "I was wondering if we could go get ice cream real quick, I've got time to kill nad you are always around here." She grinned. "Y/n, at your service." "Dirk Strider." I hold out my hand and she shakes it. "I think I'll take you up on that ice cream idea." She bounced up and down and led me out. "Well, let me take you to the best ice cream parlor in town, Dirk!" I felt my blank face fall for a second, my face heating up and a small smile forcing its way up. She is too cute for words.
"I honestly think that Applejack is the best character," She says, biting into her f/f ice cream. "She always is there to help the others." I roll my eyes underneath my shades. "Yeah, but Rainbow Dash is the coolest, therefore the best." She laughs and I smile at her. She looks much more pretty in the sunlight, even though she looked beautiful in the library as well, but the sunlight gave her a more natural look to her. "Dirk?" I snap out and she giggles once more. "I know I don't usually ask, but I was wondering if you'd like to help in the story for the kids today?" "Depends on the story." I say in a playful voice. God, this woman is melting me. "How about the 'Princess and the Frog'?" She looks at me with puppy eyes and smiles. "That just so happens to be my favorite." I throw away my wrapping for my cone and bow to the girl, holding out my hand. "Shall I escort you to the kiddy corner?" She giggled and throws away her wrapping too. She takes my hand and we walk to the library, hand in hand, continuing our conversation on 'My Little Pony'.
"The princess woke up to find the frog not sleeping on her pillow, but a handsome prince next to her." I look down at the book and read out in a weird voice, "Thank you, my princess, for you have broken the curse on which has been bestowed upon me. As my savior, will you marry me?" I gesture out towards Y/n and the kids giggled. "The princess said yes and they had a happily ever after. The End." She closed the book and the kids clapped. "Okay boys and girls, I think your parents just finished up with their books, how about we go find them?" All of the kids scrambled up and said goodbye to me and Y/n. I felt a tug on my shorts and I looked down. A young girl, about three or four, was holding onto my shorts and smiling at me goofily. "Are you and Y/n married?" She asked. I blush bright red and look at Y/n, who was talking with one of the parents. I bend down to the girl and whisper. "No, but I want to be with her someday." "Like her frog?" She giggled. "You and her would have a happily ever after too!" "Yeah, like her frog." I smiled at the kid and she pats my spikey hair. "Ladybug, it's time to go." A mom cooed at her. "Coming Mama!" She ran off, waving goodbye to me. I wave back and Y/n comes over to me. "That was fun," She said. "I'd love for you to help again." I smile at her and say, "I'd like that as well. I'd love for a wonderful girl to go out with me too, could you make that possible?" Y/n nodded giddily and hugged me tight. "I wanted to make that possible since you first walked into the library!" She exclaimed. I smile and hug her back.
The little girl was right; we had the best 'happily ever afters'.
