I tap my foot impatiently. He still couldn't see me. "Tav!" He looked around to see a short--or shorter-- me. "y/N, WHAT?" He said it way too loud, and I was ready to clap my hands over my ears. I look on my back ans see these gaudy, shiny wings on my back. I had a weird small dress on, and I am not happy. "Help me up!" I complain. I refuse to try to fly with this stupid dress! Tavros gently picked me up and blushed. "wHY SO SMALL?" He snickered a bit. He was already taller than me, he didn't have to rub it in. "I don't know. I just remember being turned and a stupid paper," I carefully unfold the paper, which read,

Wwhoops. Sorry, Y/n, I wwas trying out my wwand of science again and I may havve hit you.. Again. 

Oh, I remember that. Tavros had to hold me with rope! I was as light as air. 

But this time, I knoww the cure! I found out it's kissing your true lovve. Meaning, I'll be seeing you soon?

I roll my eyes and hand the note to Tavros. He blushed a bit and I flop onto his hand. "Well, I guess I have to fly to Jakey's, huh?" Tavros's smile slid off, but I don't know why. I mean, he was never envious about me. He has Gamzee, or had Gamzee. "yEAH," He slowly placed me down on the ground. "sEE YOU LATER, tHEN." I nod happily and hug his hand. I try to flap my wings, and surprisingly it was easy to fly! I was a little wobbly, but I can get the handle of it. The wind blew through my hair, and making my eyes water at impact. I quickly flutter over to Jake's house, anticipating exclamations of surprise. I ring the doorbell, taking a lot of effort to even hit it. "Hello?" I heard Jake say. "Hey, Jakey!" I say happily. He's been my boyfriend for about a year now, and I think things are pretty solid. He looks around and yes, he gasps when he sees me. "What the hell, Y/n? I thought we were done with the weird science-magic." He sighed and ruffled his hair up. "I know, I know, I didn't mean it this time!" I whine. I flutter up onto his shoulder. "But I know the cure!" I chirp happily. He smiles and asks what. I carefully flutter over to his lips and kiss them sweetly. I open my eyes and He looks confused. What? I stare shocked back. "What was supposed to happen?" He says humorously. "I-I.." I feel woozy. I land back on his shoulder and look at him. "The note said to kiss my true love," I told him. He shifted uncomfortably. "What's wrong, Jakey?" I ask. He isn't usually like this. "U-um, Y/n, I have to tell you something." He scratched his head distractedly. "I don't think I can be with you," He finished. "W-what? Why is that, exactly?" I have to admit, I am a little angry. "It's just that I don't think I am.." He mumbled a few words. "You are what?" I ask testily. "Straight..." He says, embarrassed. 

Oh. I felt my eyes widen and say, "Oh, it's fine then." I drop off his shoulder and my wings catch myself. "Really?" I nod. "If you think you're gay, and if you have proven that, then it's fine." He nods and blurts, "I dated you because I was scared. I thought I was straight so I dated you. I'm sorry." I felt my eyes tighten and I wave goodbye. I flutter away, small tears staining the short dress. I fly back to where Tavros was. He was still there, absentmindedly picking small flowers. "Tav!" I burrow into his soft hair. "Jake wasn't it." I start crying harder and nuzzle into his hair even more. "oH NO." He clumsily put the small flowers down and got me out of his hair, holding me by my waist. "i'M SORRY." I curl up to my knees and look at the small flowers. I can't help but sulk; I really did love Jake, and I know it's the right thing to let it go fast. But still, it's kind of difficult finding out that your boyfriend is gay and dumped you when you were stuck in a weird, fairy-like state. I brush the tears off my face and off my dress. He held up his hand to his face and gave me a sympathetic gaze. I look helplessly at him. "What am I to do?" I say miserably. "If it isn't Jake, it isn't anyone, I don't think." I look down at Tavros's hand and hug one of the fingers. 

He leaned down, causing a shadow to fall over my head. I felt something soft on my hair and looked up. He kissed my forehead. I blush crazy red and suddenly felt sick. I close my eyes and cry out in pain. "y-y/N?" He faltered. I hold my head and felt the area spinning. I felt like I was getting dropped and then...

"y/N!" I felt a hand on my shoulder. I look up stunned to see a full-sized Tavros. I blush again and stare at him, shocked. "W-what?" I say weakly. "i, uH, gUESS THAT I AM YOUR TRUE LOVE?" He looked hopeful. I nod, speechless. "Could we possibly wait though?" I speak up finally. His ears drooped, but then understood. "oF COURSE." He hugs me and I hug back. Everything happened so quickly, from turning, to Jake, to Tavros. I say goodbye to the happy rust-blood and go home. 

Maybe, I thought. Maybe he is my true love, but how am I supposed to love someone who is my best friend?

I guess we'll have to see.
