I Told You To Run (Cronus X Reader)
Are you,
Are you,
Coming to the tree?
They strung up a man
They say who murdered three.
Strange things have happened here,
No strange would it be.
If we met at mid-
Night in the hanging tree.
"Y/n, you havwe to believwe me," Cronus pleaded to his lover. She clung tightly to his hand, the guards of the Grand High Blood trying to separate them. "I beleive you, you'd never kill for pleasure!" She wrenches her arms away from the gaurds who were trying to hold her back. "Get off me, he's innocent! It wasn't him!" She screamed.
Are you,
Are you,
Coming to the tree?
Where a dead man called out
For his love to flee.
Strange things have happened here,
No strange would it be.
If we met at mid-
Night in the hanging tree.
"Y/n, they wvon't believwe me, it wvas a subjuggulator wvho sawv me," He whispered from his cell. "Please, I need you to leavwe me, livwe for me." "No, not without you!" She stubbornly said. "Y/n, please." Cronus's voice broke and he cried as the guards pulled the girl away from the cell. "No, you shits, let my Cronus go, he is an Ampora, he's not guilty!" Cronus could hear her scream through the hallway.
Are you,
Are you,
Coming to the tree?
Where I told you to run,
So we'd both be free.
Strange things have happened here,
No strange would it be.
If we met at mid-
Night in the hanging tree.
Y/n choked a sob down as her lover was dragged, with lifeless eyes, to the noose hanging on the oak tree. "Any last words?" Neophyte Redglare asked gravely. They were said in a whisper. "What was that?" Neophyte pressed. "I didn't do it, you fucking liars." The crowd went into an uproar, and Y/n could here his real last words; "I lovwe you, Y/n!" She rushed over to the tree. "Get off him, get off!" She screamed. Too late. A wail could be heard all over he kingdom of the Makaras.

The real killer, Aranea Serket, was killed the night after the hanging of Cronus Ampora. All that was left of the killer was a bright lipstick kiss mark on the dead girl's cheek; bright violet. The killer went everywhere, killing highbloods left and right, unless they were of Ampora descendants. No one saw them, but everyone knew who she was.
"Hello, Cronus." Y/n took off her mask and stared at Cronus's limp, hanging body. Next to it was the rope for the 'mysterious' killer. "I'll be there soon." She kissed the tree, a bright violet lipstick stain shining in the lowering sunlight. She put the rope around her neck and smile one last time before kicking out the chair that was holding her up.

She didn't leave him. She never left them. They could have been as free as birds, but stayed on the tree. The Hanging Tree.
