I ran my hand along a post in the stable. My horse tired from galloping in the field. The black field, the gray trees, the white horse. I was supposed to meet my best friend Nepeta here, but she's running late. She said earlier that she was bringing a friend. And her boyfriend of course. Karkat and Nepeta have been able to see color for years, but I'm still in the dull. They described a color called green, they said it was lush, bright and airy. The field was that color when the sun, the warm yellow Sun was bright. Unlike the trees, the trees had a beautiful dark, tangled green. But my favorite color they said was blue. They told me the sky was happy. My face usually was blue, I guess, because I'm happy when I'm in my stable. "Ow!" I gasp. A dark gray splinter dug itself into my Palm; white blood spilled out. I want to see what color it was. But I can't, not until I find my soul mate. "Y/n!! I'm here with my furriend!" Nepeta popped her head into my stall with the white horse. "Hey, Nep. Karkle Sparkles, how are you?" I cover my Palm with my light gray tee shirt. "WHY THE FUCK DO YOU STILL INSIST IN THAT RIDICULOUS NICKNAME?!" Karkat yells, making my horse jump. "Mister Vantas, shush. You scared her." I hear a deep voice and stretch my neck so I could see passed Nep and Karkles. A tall troll all dressed in black stood over all three of us. "Hello. I am Equius Zahhak." He said abruptly. "Hi, I'm known as Y/n. What colors is he?" I ask. "Equihiss has dark blue blood and has red, orange, and yellow horns like me and Karkitty. His sign is dark blue and he doesn't wear any color." She giggled. "But mew are wearing tons!" I look down and see that yes, I am! My eyes widened and I smiled. "What are the names?" "Pink shirt, purrple socks, black shorts, blue hat." I look up and I see. The sky was bright, a color I could have never imagined. And Equius was different. Nepeta, Karkat and Equius still had gray skin, but Equius was more mysterious. "Nep, why can I see now?" I say quietly. She beams and says "mew have met your soul mate!!" Equius takes off a pair of broken shades and his eyes were blue too. He smiled a small smile and looked in awe around us. My horse was a light color, a bronze, I think. "Nepeta, I be1ieve I may stay f0r a bit," I smile larger. "Equius, would you like to ride a horse?" He nods and I help him up a dark colored horse. "That's a brown horse." Nepeta points to the horse Equius is on. Karkat rolls his eyes and says a bit quieter, "NEPETA, TEACH THEM THE COLORS LATER LET'S GOOOO." He groans and picks the child-like girl to the exit. "See mew too soon!" "Bye Nep!" I save and hoist myself up onto the bronze horse. We canter onto the green, the bright green fields with little yellow I think, flowers. I laugh, and Equius smiles. After about two hours of riding, we hop off and sit under a brown tree with the dark green that was a tangled mess. Like Nep told me. "Hey, Equius," I mumble. "Yes, Y/n?" He looks over. I pull a Polaroid camera out of my pocket. "Do you mind photos?" He shakes his head and we link arms, him being very careful. We smile and a small whirring noise goes off. I take the photo off from its paper. I shake it and the photo appears. In black and white and gray. "Now we do not have to see those c010rs anymore," I smile and slip my hand into his. And the picture slips out of my hand. 'We don't have to see those colors anymore.'
