Years Ago | Sollux x Reader
"(Y/n), let's get going!" your guardian called from downstairs.
"Coming!" you call back, your short legs moving quickly as you make your way downstairs.
You giggle as you take a hold of your guardian's hand.
"You ready?"
"Mhm." You nod.
Your guardian exits the house, you in tow. Today you were both going out to the park, as you did every weekend. It had been a tradition you and your guardian had started about 3 years ago when you were 5. You would go down to the park, you got to play for a bit, and then you'd both go and get ice cream.
It only took about 15 minutes to walk to the park, and as soon as you got there, you were able to run off to play. Your guardian sat down on a bench, keeping an eye on you. You look over at the playground, wondering if you should go and play. That is until your eyes fall onto a familiar figure, Cindy Marewell. She was a girl that hated you; so much as to shove you off of the playground whenever she had the chance. You frown, crossing your arms over your chest and stomping off to find somewhere else to play.
You end up near the wooded area of the park. You look up at the tall trees and decide to have a look for a cool place to play among them. You wander in, your hands brushing against the low hanging leaves of the branches. The woods were mostly quiet, with the sounds of birds and other critters scuttling around distantly making their way into your ears.
Just as you had found a tree that you found perfect to climb, you hear a screech. Your head perks up and you try to find out what direction the sound came from. When you hear laughter coming from the right, you turn around and begin to run towards the spot.
As soon as you reach the area, you come to a halt. In front of you were three boys who looked to be a year or two older than you. They were circled around something, but had a sneaky suspicion as to what it might be.
"Hey, what're you doing?!" you shout.
The three boys turn around, looking like they just got caught doing something they shouldn't. Those looks make more sense when you see a small grey skinned child on the ground, yellow blood dripping from his nose and several cuts across his body.
"Oh, it's just a little girl." The blond sneers.
This causes you to frown, "that's not very nice."
"No shit you little pest," the black haired one snaps, "piss off."
"No," you huff, "leave him alone."
"What, why would we do that?"
"Because you're hurting him!"
"Yeah, he's only one of those low blood trolls," the third kid laughs, "they don't matter."
You could feel your face turning red with anger as you take a step forward. One of the boys steps closer to you and you almost feel like turning to run. You lift your hand to swing at the boy, but a voice stops you.
"(Y/n) (l/n), what do you think you're doing?!"
You turn around swiftly to see your guardian standing only a few metres away.
"They were being mean to the boy?" you defend.
Your guardian raises an eyebrow before glancing over at the troll, who was still on the ground.
"Boys, leave, before I go and find your parents."
The kids nod before running off.
"I'm sorry," you sob, "they were hurting him and-"
"It's okay." Your guardian cuts you off, ruffling your hair.
You nod, and rub your eyes. You turn around to see the boy looking at you, eyes wide. You glance at your guardian, who nods. You walk over to him and hold out a hand. He stares at you, as if assessing whether you're friend of foe.
"It's okay," you smile, "you can come with us."
The boy grabs a hold of your hand and you help him to his feet.
"My name is (y/n)," you introduce yourself, "what's your name?"
"Sollux."
~~~
It has been 10 years since that day, and Sollux has been living with you since. You had come to be close during these years, and you treated him as though he was your brother. You had stuck by each other's sides all those years. But sadly, nothing can last forever.
"So, I guess this is bye." You smile.
"Yeah, ii gue22 2o."
You had gotten a scholarship in a University across the country, so you were moving in campus. Sollux was staying in your home town to get a job in a local IT store. You were happy to be able to continue your education, but sad that you had to move.
"Man, I'm gonna miss you." You frown, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
"Yeah, I'll mi22 you two."
He wraps his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder. From the doorway, your guardian watches, a bitter sweet smile on their face. Sollux pulls away and presses a kiss to your forehead.
"2ee you iin the holiidays, ii gue22."
"Of course."
You turn around and enter your car. You wave at your family one last time before driving off.
~~~
It had been several months since you had seen your family, and truth be told, you missed them. You had texted and called your guardian, Sollux and your friends, but it wasn't the same as being with them. Luckily, you had just finished your first semester, which meant you had a long enough break to visit.
Currently you were on a plane, waiting for you to be allowed to get off. Once you got the okay, you stood up and made your way out. As you enter the building, you look around for your guardian. You yelp when an arms wraps around your neck.
"Long time no see." A familiar voice chuckles.
You laugh and turn to your guardian, pulling them in for a hug.
"I guess you've missed me?" they chuckle.
"Definitely."
Once you pull away from the hug you look around, hoping to see Sollux.
"He isn't here," your guardian states, "he doesn't know you're coming home."
"Oh really?" you smirk.
"C'mon, let's get your luggage and head home."
Once you arrived home you sat your bags in your room and waited for Sollux by watching TV and eating Doritos.
"Sollux is pulling up."
As soon as you hear your guardian call out, you turn off the TV and leap over the couch, hiding in your room. You listen as Sollux walks in and greets your guardian, he walks into the lounge room and you hear him shout out at your guardian.
"Hey, who's been eating my Dorito's?"
You step out from your room, a grin on your face, "sorry, I got hungry."
Sollux's head snaps towards you, his red and blue glasses nearly falling from his face. A smile etches onto his face. You walk up to him and hug him, laughing as you do so.
"Well 2hiit," Sollux laughs, "now you owe me Doriito2."
"Oh piss off."
You let go of Sollux, who looked like he hadn't slept in millennia.
"Somebody needs a nap."
"Yeah, you."
"Haha, very funny," you roll your eyes, "c'mon lets watch a movie."
You grab Sollux's wrist and tug him towards the couch. You sit down on the end, Sollux right next to you. You flick through the films on Netflix until you find one that you thought was good enough.
You were only about 20 minutes into the movie when you feel a weight in your shoulder. You look down to see Sollux passed out against you. Noticing that he still had his glasses on, you slip them off and put them on the side table.
Looking down at you, you still see the young troll you saved all those years ago.
