Saved Twice | Witch!Aradia x Reader
So, I was supposed to post this yesterday, but it was my birthday. Enjoy!
"Well I don't believe that." Laura chuckles, holding her camera up to Samuel's face.
Samuel pushes the camera away from him, rolling his eyes, "well I do."
You grin as you watch the pair argue playfully.
"People who walk down this way do say that they hear things coming from this building." You shrug, shoving your hands in your pockets.
You look around you at the peeling paint and broken furniture. The old hospital had been broken down for quite some time, being shut down due to a riot from the patients. They had managed to kill several of the staff and even some of the other patients.
It is said that there are still things that lurk around, shadows seen and sounds heard from passers-by. Even urban explorers or idiotic teens have gotten scared and fled from the building.
"Okay then," Laura begins, "we're going to split up, and in half an hour we'll meet up."
"Laura, I don't thi-" Samuel tries to argue.
"Nope, let's go, pussy."
You sigh, not in the mood to fight and pull out your phone, turning the timer on.
"Alright, I'm off."
You hear Laura laugh and Samuel sigh before they both go their separate ways.
You put your phone away, keeping your flashlight pointed in front of you. The only sounds that reached your ears were the swaying trees outside and your footsteps. It was both calming and unsettling, in a weird mix.
You reach the end of the hallway, a large red door looming in front of you. The sign looked to have fallen off, the window smashed. You open the door, wincing at the loud squeak.
The long descending stair looked ominous, and you almost turn back. But you steel your guts and head down, on the walls were old, browning smears of blood.
"This is fu-AHH!" you let out a screech as you tumble down the stairs.
After a long fall, you finally end up splayed on the floor body aching and stinging. You open your eyes, coming face to face with darkness. You sit yourself up, letting out a hiss at this pain shooting through you. As you try to stand, you feel an agonising pain run up your leg, causing you to collapse back down.
You begin to pat around on the floor, looking for your flashlight. When you can't, you begin to panic. But you then realise that you had your phone, so you pull that out, turning on the flashlight.
You look down at your ankle to see that it had already begun to turn red and puff up. You let out a groan, deciding to call Laura.
"Hey this is Laura, sorry-"
You let out a groan when she doesn't pick up. You then call Samuel just to get the same response. You rub your temple with your free hand. You notice that there was some railing, which would make it easier for you to get up those stairs.
You begin to crawl, the pain in the rest of your body ignored as you do so. But when you hear footsteps you cease your movements. You hear them once more, and call out.
"Hello! Laura? Samuel?"
You hear the footsteps move down the stairs; you point the light up to see a young woman. Her brow rises at the sight of you, on the floor, bruised and probably bleeding.
"What are you doing down here?" she asks, frowning.
"Well, I was with some friends exploring, and we separated and I fell." You explain.
She tilts her head in confusion, "I was wandering up there and I saw no one else."
You let in a sharp breath, your hands shaking. The girl could see you distress, taking a step towards you.
"Alright, let's get you out of here," she smiles, "it's kind of cold and gross."
You nod, returning her smile.
~~~
"And there we go." The girl you now knew as Aradia smiles, finishing your bandage up.
"Thank you, I really appreciate it."
"Of course, I wasn't going to let you stay stuck down there."
"You're much nicer than my friends." You chuckle.
You glance around at all of the items around; there were little bottles and jars, crystals and a lot of books.
"So, are you new around town, I haven't seen you at school."
Aradia nods, "yeah, just moved in with my family."
"Well, if you want you can hang around me at school," you offer, "it's a hell of a school."
"Thanks, I'll take up on that offer."
~~~
You let out a yawn as you wander into school, almost falling asleep on your feet. You were still limping from the weekend.
You had tried to contact Laura and Samuel several times, but to no luck. They didn't even talk to you on Monday, completely ignoring you. You decided that you didn't want to hang out with them anymore. You didn't need them if they'd abandoned you in such a place.
"Hey (y/n)." you hear Aradia call out.
You turn around to see Aradia walking up to you. You smile and wave, stopping for her.
"Good to see you." you smile, continuing to walk along beside her.
"Yeah, you too."
The both of you chat as you walk to home class, dodging the groups of students that decide to hog most of the hallway up.
Once you reach your classroom, you both take a seat. Aradia pulls out one of her books, showing you different stuff that was in it.
You had figured out that Aradia was into that witch stuff when you had went to her house to fix your leg. You found it quite interesting as you listened to her.
From the corner of your eye you see Laura and Samuel walk in joined at the hip as usual. They stop at your desk, causing you to sigh in irritation.
"Can I help you?" you ask in a flat voice.
"Um, we wanted to apologise, about the hospital." Laura mumbles.
"Yeah, and ignoring you yesterday." Samuel continues.
You pause for a moment, your face still blank.
"Okay, thanks for apologising."
"Cool, so we were th-"
"I'm going to stop you right there," you frown, "just because I thanked you for the apology, doesn't mean I want to hang out with you."
The pair gapes at you like confused fish, before wordlessly walking away.
"Anyway," you smile at Aradia, "please continue."
~~~
"(Y/n), quickly dodge!" you hear Aradia shout.
You look up, seeing a fireball thrown at you. You jump to the left, just avoiding it. Aradia sends a fireball back towards the hooded stranger.
"You know, when I saw you were into witchcraft, I didn't imagine this!" you pick up your baseball bat from the ground.
Someone comes at you, and you react by hitting him in the side with the bat.
"Well, at least it's an adventure!" she shouts back, firing another blast.
You let out a shout as something hits you in the back, causing you to yell out in pain.
"(Y/n)!" you hear Aradia shout before your vision begins to fade.
~~~
"She'll be fine, Aradia." You hear a voice sigh.
Your eyes open to reveal that you were now indoors, although you didn't recognise the roof, weirdly enough.
You try to sit up, only to groan in pain.
"(Y/n)."
You look over to see Aradia run up to you, her hands cupping your cheeks. You let out a squeak as she presses her lips to yours. Your body freezes before you wrap your arms around her neck, fingers tangling in her hair.
A quiet giggle stops you both; you glance over to see a light haired girl standing a few feet away.
"Oh, uh, (y/n), this is Feferi, another witch," Aradia introduces, "I've been talking to her online for quite some time. She's the one who healed you."
"Oh, well thank you very much." You smile.
"It was no problem," she chirps, "now, I'll get us some tea."
And with that she wanders out of the room.
"So," you smile, looking back at Aradia, "what was that kiss about?"
"Oh please, you know exactly what it was about," Aradia rolls her eyes; "I love you."
You press a kiss to her nose, "of course, I love you too."
