Quiet Times | Marvus x Reader

You let out a yawn as you cuddle further into the blanket. You had been lying comfortably on the large couch for quite some time, which meant that all of your body heat was trapped inside. You were kind of upset that you couldn't go along with Marvus, but you hadn't slept properly in quite some time, so he made you stay home to get some rest. You were tired, but you hadn't slept too much yet, which was unfortunate. You watch the bright screen in front of you, your head comfortably resting on the soft pillow. Your eyelids felt heavy until they close completely.

It was only a few hours later when Marvus returned. He was tired as hell from his several performances and wanted nothing more but to cuddle with his matesprit. He enters the lounge room to see you asleep, the TV blaring out an obnoxious commercial. He smiles and walks towards you, kneeling beside the couch. He pushes your messy hair from your face, when you groan and your nose twitches. Your eyes blink open, and a smile stretches onto your face as you notice that Marvus had returned.

"You're back." You giggle, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.

Marvus just chuckles, he gets back to his feet, dragging you up along with him. You wrap your legs around his waist, letting out a tired grumble.

"Aight, let's go." He hums and begins to walk towards the bathroom.

"You smell bad." You grunt, tightening your grip.

"Well, that's what happens when you're up on stage." He grins, looking down at you.

You just hum in response. You hear the faucet to the weird alien bath turn on and Marvus sets you down.

"Ok, strip."

You whip your head up to look at Marvus with a mockingly shocked look.

"I'm sorry, would you like to repeat that?!"

Marvus just chuckles and begins to remove is shirt. You make a sound similar to a strangled cat, turning around.

"Idiot!"

~~~
You close one eye as you take aim, pulling back to string. You let go, the arrow goes flying through the air, smacking into the target.
"Haha, I win!" you exclaim, tossing the tiny bow aside.
On the target were three white sticky arrows, and three black ones. One of your white ones were stuck smack bang in the middle.
"This time." Marvus grins, wrapping his arms around your torso.
You lay your head back, your hair getting drenched by the water. The warm water and sweet scent of the bubble bath was sending you off to sleep. Your mind was beginning to get hazy; you let out a yawn and rest your hands on Marvus' which sat snuggly against your stomach.
"I don't think it'll be smart to sleep in the tub."
"Eh." You murmur, shrugging loosely.
"Aight, time to get out."
~~~

"What an idiot." You laugh, watching as the troll on screen trips over his own feet.

When Marvus doesn't reply, you look over at him to see that he had fallen asleep. You smile and press a kiss to his cheek. He wasn't wearing his usual makeup, which was kind of weird. But of course you thought he looked handsome without it. You bring your hand up to press it against his cheek.

"Thank you for everything." You whisper before lying down on his chest.

Your eyes close and soon enough you're happily sleeping away. Marvus peaks an eyes open and smiles. He observes you for a moment, how did such a weird and amazing alien agree to be his matesprit? Fucked if he knew, all that he cared about was that you were here with him. He presses a kiss to your forehead before closing his eyes once more.

It wasn't often the he could have some peace and quiet with his matesprit, but when he did, he didn't waste a second of it.

This may be spoilers for the Meat section of the epilogue. So if you don't want spoilers please don't read it.

So, I've read the Meat part of the epilogue and I have to say, I have no idea what the fuck I just witnessed. I'm not saying it's necessarily bad, since it's out of cannon and doesn't really matter. But the way they portrayed some of the characters I had come to love made me upset. I knew Dirk wasn't the most emotional character out there, but damn he's a total megalomaniac. The same goes with Jane, which I don't even want to get started on.

I've also heard that candy is one hell of a trip. I started it and I don't think I can take reading it. So, I haven't completely given up on it, but I'm treating it separately to Homestuck, in a way I guess.

People have their own opinions though, I've noticed some loved it while others loathed it. I've also seen some people who are saying that Hussie is doing this to tell us to let go of Homestuck already, but honestly I don't even know anymore.
