Lost House | Human!Horrus x Reader

The halls were barren and the air was thick. You could barely breathe as you walk along, your shuffling footsteps echo throughout the building. Usually when you walked by yourself you'd hum, but you just couldn't allow yourself to do so. You were too afraid that someone or something would jump out from any of the doors to attack you.

You were stupid to go along with that damn dare. But the peer pressure was too much for you and you ended up doing exactly what they wanted you to do. You knew the stories of this place, people going missing after staying overnight and disembodied limbs being found on the front lawn. Your so called friends most definitely knew of your potential deadly fate, and just didn't care.

So here you are, all alone and wandering the halls of the infamous 'Lost House'. You were lucky enough to keep your phone with you, so you at least had some light. You look down at the lit up screen, which read 11:56pm. You were dared to stay the whole night, and when you peeked out of the window only minutes earlier, you saw one of your friends standing on the path just outside of house.

You wander the halls until you reach the kitchen. You take a seat on one of the old wooden chairs. You swore that it was going to break, but you were too tired to care. You glance at your phone one more time just as it changes from 11:59 to midnight. As soon as it does the lights flick on, making you jump off of the seat and hide in the corner between the wall and the fridge.

You watch eyes wide and mouth agape as a woman walks in, she looks like any other normal woman. Brown hair tied in a bun, an old timey dress and an apron. The only thing that separated her was the black holes where her eyes should be.

"Children, it's time for dinner!" the woman calls, her voice sweet.

The first child to walk in was a young girl, who could be no older than 10. She had long brown hair and hazel eyes. She looked identical to Aradia, Damara's little sister who went missing like, 6 years ago. She looked extremely pale and her skin seemed to be falling off, as if she were a corpse.

She takes a seat at the table, she short legs swinging.

"Good morning mama." She greets.

That was definitely Aradia.

The next to walk in was a young boy and girl, who were walking together, holding hands. The girl had light brown hair and bright green eyes. The boy had long black hair and blue eyes. You recognised them as Nepeta and Equius. You used to play with them when the older kids wouldn't. Their skin looked in slightly better condition, but still pale and ripped.

They both take seats beside each other. They both greet 'Mama' and wait for their dinner.

The next person to walk in was an older girl with fiery red hair and red glasses still covering her eyes. Although her glasses were cracked and her skin pale, you still recognised her as an old friend of yours, Latula.

She sits down beside Aradia and greets 'Mama'.

The final person to walk through the door was another boy. His dark hair and goggles gave h him away, Horrus. His skin was still its usual colour. He had only disappeared about a week ago, so he mustn't have been here long.

"Hello mama." He greets and sits down on the second to last seat.

You still couldn't move from your spot, scared of what the hell was happening before me. You close your mouth and squish yourself further into the corner, hoping that no one would see you.

You watch from your spot as they each get a bowl put in front of them. You couldn't tell what the food was, but you were pretty sure it was some weird looking porridge.

"Alright children, eat."

As soon as 'Mama' says that, they all begin eating. You thought since they kind of looked like zombies that they'd eat like them. But surprisingly they ate politely as 'Mama' watched.

Once everyone had finished eating they each stand up and place the bowls and spoons in the sink.

"Now everyone, off to your rooms." 'Mama' says and they all head up.

As they're walking Horrus manages to catch your eye. Your eyes widen at this, thinking he was going to rat you out. But surprisingly, he doesn't.

Once they were all out of sight 'Mama' disappears and the light turns off. You finally let go of the breath you had been holding for too long. You step out of the corner and quietly make your way from the kitchen and up the stairs. You tip toe around, peeking into the rooms in search for Horrus.

After several doors you finally find his room. You sneak in and close the door behind you.

"(Y/n)!" he exclaims as you quickly shoosh him.

"Yes, it's me," you whisper, "What're you doing here?"

"Well, I was shoved in here by some of the kids from school," he explains, "I didn't want them to come after me so I just stayed in here, but around midnight the lights turned on and the weird witch found me."

"And you've been stuck in here ever since?" you ask.

He nods in reply.

"Why can't you leave?" you ask him.

"Because 'Mama' always finds me." He shivers.

"No, there has to be a way out," You argue, "I don't want to be turned into a walking corpse."

You sink to the ground, clutching your head as you try to think. What if you stuck here? Could you leave?

"She hasn't seen you yet, has she?" Horrus asks.

You look up at him and shake your head.

"Well, if you're quiet you can escape." He suggests.

"And you'll come with me." You say, standing up.

"I can't," he stutters, "she always knows where I am."

You pause, trying to think of some way you could help him get out of here.

"How are you so calm?" you ask him.

"Well, at first I certainly was not calm," he states, "I saw my own brother's corpse walking around."

Well, that's fair. You glance around the room, looking for some way to escape. When you notice a window, you face palm. Of course, just throw some bedsheets down as a rope and climb down. You walk up to Horuss' bed, which was quite close to the window. You pull off the sheets.

"What're you doing?!" he exclaims.

"Shh," you hush him, "getting us out of here."

You tie the sheets together and open the window. Just as you had tied the sheets to the bed as an anchor, the door slams open and in comes 'Mama'.

"What are you doing to my child?!" she screeches, launching at you.

You dodge the move and lure her to the opposite side of the room.

"Get down," you tell Horrus, "I'll be down right after you!"

Horrus hesitates for a moment, before he begins his descent.

The lady continues to screech profanities at you as she tries to catch you. You keep managing to avoid her, but you couldn't get to the window. You watch as the almost lifeless children walk into the room.

Just as you dodge another swipe of 'Mama's talon like hands, 'Mama' trips over Aradia and you manage to get to the window. You knew you didn't have the time to climb down, so you jump. Just as you were about to slam onto the ground, a pair of arms wrap around your waist. You open your eyes and come face to face with Horrus.

You grin at the boy and hug him.

"Oh thank heavens." He sighs in relief.

Just as you thought you were safe, the door slams open and 'Mama' comes charging out. Horrus doesn't have time to put you down before he sprints off down the street. You pass the guy that was guarding the house. He notices that you were running off and yelled at you.

"Hey, you were-" the boy's shouting was cut short when he saw the witch and ran off down the street.

As soon as the witch got to the end of her front lawn, she stops, as if she's unable to escape that house.

Horrus comes to a halt and sets you back onto your feet.

"Thank you," he thanks you, "I would have just stayed there until I rotted."

"Yeah, no problem," You laugh, "Come on, let's get you home."

Once the adrenaline ran out, Horrus slumps against you, apologising as he does so. The pair of you stumble along the path, all the way home.
