Light of the Moon | Werewolf!Galekh x Reader

So, Homestuck^2, huh?

A quiet sigh of relief escapes your lips, standing back up straight. You crack your sore back, looking around at all of the boxes you still had to unpack. But you would do that tomorrow, as it was currently around 9pm and you were tired from all of the moving.

You had just moved into a small home just outside of a village. The village housed about 1,200 people living in it. This was great for you, as you really didn't like people. There was still enough connection to make calls and watch TV, but the internet connection was a bit shaky.

Lucky for you, you made your bed earlier today, knowing you'd be too tired by the end. You flick through some of the boxes until you find a pair of shorts and a shirt to wear to bed. You quickly slip them on before heading off to bed. In the morning you'd have to drive into the village before finishing to unpack.

You lie down and close your eyes, falling asleep to the sound of the wind and the howls of wolves.

"That'll be 32.70 please."

"Here you go." You give the cashier the money.

You grab your items from the counter, wishing the cashier a good day before heading off. You head down the street, going back to your car to head home. You had just finished doing your fortnightly shopping so you could now happily head back to your home until you needed something.

You let out a yelp as you bump into someone, sending yourself falling onto the ground. You let out a groan as you see the broken eggs on the path.

"Oh, I do apologise."

You look up to see a tall figure looming over you, an apologetic look on their face.

"Oh, no, it's my fault; I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." You reply shyly.

You quickly gather everything but the eggs, which were luckily still intact. You get back to your feet and look up at the guy.

"Uh, please, just wait here."

And with that he hurries off, leaving you confused. You didn't know whether to leave or do as he says.

You didn't really have to think about it for long before he reappears.

"Here you go." He hands you a carton of eggs.

"You really didn't have to do that," you smile, "but thank you."

"Well, I had been reading as I walked, so I assumed it was only suitable for me to do so," he rambles quickly, "oh, I'm Galekh, by the way."

"I'm (y/n)." you politely respond.

"You're not from around here, are you?"

You laugh, "yeah, I just moved here, how'd you know?"

"Well, there weren't many kids at my school, so it's easy to tell."

Well, that should have been obvious.

"Yeah, right," you nod, "it is indeed a small place."

There was a short silence which honestly nearly killed you.

"Anyways, sorry for keeping you," Galekh smiles, "I'll see you around."

"Uh, yeah, see you."

And with that you both go your separate ways. You get into your car and head back home. You could feel your face heating up, and you couldn't tell if it was from embarrassment or the fact that he was very attractive. So you just decided to go with both.

~~~
The quite music from the radio filled the kitchen as you finish drying up the dishes. You sit the now damp towel down as you head out of the room.
Deciding that you needed a nice walk to help your dinner go down, you chuck on your sweater and a scarf. As soon as you step outside, you let out a shiver. It wasn't too bad, but inside was definitely much warmer.
You look up at the bright moon, the only thing currently giving you light. You look around until you see the worn path that the previous owner had told you about. They had walked down it all the time and it lead straight back to the house so it was very difficult to get lost.
You grab your hunting knife from the seat on your porch before heading off down the path. The trees had enough gaps to allow you to see pretty easily. It was a very nice way to walk, although every rustle and bump scared the living daylights out of you.
So when you hear a low growling coming from beyond the bushes, you freeze. You look over to where the growling was coming from, watching as a large figure clambers out. Golden eyes watch you; they trail down your form until they notice the large knife.
An angry growl rips through its throat, causing you to drop the knife. You let out a scream as it lunges at you. You slam against the ground, almost instantly blacking out.
~~~

Waking up with a gasp, you nearly fall onto the ground, looking around you in panic. You notice that you were sitting on the chair on your porch, your knife on the wooden decking. You slowly reach to the back of your head, wincing in pain.

"So last night wasn't a nightmare." You mumble to yourself as you get up onto your shaky feet.

You head inside and make your way into your room, collapsing onto your bed. You have no idea what had happened, but you were scared to leave your house at night. The thought of meeting that huge creature again sent shivers down your spine.

You close your eyes once more, hoping to get some more sleep and just forget about whatever happened.

Although you hadn't planned on going into town unless you needed to, you really felt like chocolate. Unfortunately you hadn't bought it when you went shopping yesterday so you had to come back in.

You chuck your chocolate into the car and decide to walk around while you were here. You look at all of the small shops and cute houses that line the streets. You smile when your eyes land on a café, deciding to go have a drink.

You take a seat at one of the empty tables, looking at the menu.

"Do you mind if I sit here?"

You look up to see Galekh standing on the opposite side of the table.

"Be my guest." You smile.

He takes a seat across from you, sitting an art book to the side before picking up the menu.

"So, you into art?" you ask, trying to start a conversation.

"Hmm? Oh, not particularly, this is for my younger cousin's birthday." He replies.

"Oh, ok."

Man, this was already not going well.

"So (y/n), what lead you to moving out here?" he asks you.

"Well, I've never been good with people, and I already worked from home, so I thought moving to a small village would be nice," You shrug, "and I have to say so far it's been pretty good."

You don't want to tell him about the incident last night, you really don't want him thinking you're crazy.

"Well, I'm glad that you're enjoying our small town."

~~~
It had been nearly a year since you had moved into your new home. For the entire time you hadn't left your house after dark, so you didn't bump into the creature again.
"Thanks for tonight," you smile, looking back at Galekh, "I had fun."
"Yeah, me too." Galekh replies.
He leans down and presses a kiss to your cheek, "good night."
"Night." You smile.
You wave goodbye as Galekh heads off before you head inside.
You let out a yawn as you shuffle across the room, wanting to finally get some sleep. Just as you were about to enter your bedroom, you hear a loud banging outside. Despite just wanting to hide in your house, you knew that if it was someone was trying to mess with something outside you didn't have the money to fix it.
You pick out the baseball bat that you had bought a few months ago and begin to creep out of the house quietly. You slink around the side of the house, peaking around the corner.
Your eyes widen when you see the huge beast before you, its claws scratching at the outside of your house. You take an alarmed step back, nearly slipping over.
The creature's head snaps towards you, a chuckle like growl escaping its throat. You take more steps back, tripping over nothing. The bat flies away from you, now out of your reach.
The thing hunches forwards, crawling towards you. It lunges towards you, fangs bared. Your eyes close as you let out a scream.
Another growl is heard as a loud bang causes your eyes to slam open. The creature was now slammed against the wall of your house, another creature pinning him in place. You struggle to your feet, scooping your bat up and running back into your house.
You run into your room and shuffle under the bed, your brain not really sure what to do. You curl into a ball, waiting for the sounds to finally stop.
You had no idea how long you had been cramped under your bed, but you couldn't bring yourself to move.
"(Y/n)? (Y/n)?!"
Your eyes open in surprise when you hear Galekh's voice call out for you.
You hear his footsteps get closer and see him walk into your room. He kneels down, looking under the bed. When he sees your panicked expression he frowns.
"(Y/n), are you alright?"
You make your way out, your shallowed breaths making it hard to breathe.
"Whoa, it's okay, you're okay."
He pulls you in for a hug, rubbing your back.
"Why are you here?" you ask.
"Alright, please don't panic."
Your brows furrow as you push against his chest, looking up at him. Your eyes widen when his eyes change from his usual blue eyes to a bright yellow of the second creature you had seen earlier.
"What... are you?" you gulp.
"A, uh, werewolf." he manages to mumble out.
"And the other..."
"I have no idea who he was," he shakes his head, "but I got rid of him."
You let out a sigh as you rest your head on his chest.
"This is weird as hell." You grunt.
"I mean, that's one way to put it."
You sigh, looking up at him again, "I hope you know you have a lot of explaining to do."
He simply hummed in reply.
''Also..." you trail off, causing him to look down at you.
You smile as you reach up, pressing your lips to his roughly. Your fingers lace through his hair, tugging on it playfully. You smile as Galekh's arms wrap around your waist, nipping your bottom lip in return.
You pull away, cupping his cheeks and pushing them together.
"Also, we're going out for ice-cream tomorrow."
Galekh smiles, "of course."
