Working in legislation was definitely one of the worst things about being a teal blood; all of the work that you do daily was heavy on you. This meant that sleep wasn't something that was comprehensible to you and eating was something you usually forgot. The only reason you didn't say something was because you surely didn't want to be culled for not doing your job. You got the money and luxury since you were higher in the caste, but at the cost of your own health it seemed. You didn't really want to complain though, as you knew the conditions some low bloods lived in. They were definitely worse off than you.

Currently you were writing a report for your latest case, your lamp was on as you sat at your desk. The husktop in front of you shone on your face as you continue to stare at the screen, your fingers continuously moving. The rest of your office was black, which was helpful as there was now nothing to distract you.

"OH (Y/N)! 38D." a familiar voice calls out.

Okay, now there's a possible distraction. You almost pause, but the thought of the consequences of you not being able to hand this in by tomorrow urged you to continue. If you didn't hand this in, you would be doomed.

"(Y/n)?"

Your office door opens, letting in the light from the hallway. Your fingers stop moving and you take a deep breath. You turn in your chair, your face blank.

"Feferi, how can I help you?"

"I was just wondering if you wanted to watch a film with me."

You sigh, rolling your eyes.

"I'm sorry Feferi, but I have to finish this report before tomorrow morning."

With that you turn back to your husktop and continue to type away.

"Oh, okay." You almost felt awful at the sound of her dejected voice.

Once the door closes and you hear her shuffle back down the hall. You groan and hit your head against the desk. Man you were a sucky matesprit. You look back up at your open document.

'Guess I'll just do it tomorrow.'

You save the document – several times, just in case – and close your husktop. You stand up and push your chair in. You walk out of your office, making sure to shut the door, if your lusus got in, it'd be horrible. You walk down the halls of your hive, looking for Feferi. You hear sounds coming from your living room. You peak inside to see Feferi sitting on the couch, watching a movie by herself.

You walk up behind her and wrap your arms around her shoulder, "mind if I join you?"

Feferi jumps a little and looks up at you.

"But I thought you had work to do?"

"Eh, I'll do it later tonight." You shrug.

You circle around the couch and sit beside Feferi, pulling her closer to you. She rests her head on your chest. You knew that you would have to rush your report sometime after Feferi goes to sleep, but for now, you wanted to enjoy some time with the troll you care about the most.

You groan as your eyes slowly open, you look around, noticing that you were still on the couch. You look down to notice that Feferi was still leaning against you, fast asleep. You really should have fallen asleep in the recuperacoon, but it was too late now. You look up at the clock; you had about four hours until you had to head to work.

'Maybe I should wake Fef up and put her into the recuperacoon,' you think, 'then I can finish my report.'

You look back down at Feferi, putting your hand on her shoulder. But Feferi snuggles closer to you, mumbling a few incoherent words. Damn, you couldn't wake her up, she was too cute.

'Just a little longer.'
