29 Happiness

This was kind of rushed...

"Aww, look at them," you gush, "they're so cute!"

You laugh as you pick up one of the strange little gnomes, running around with it in your arms. Since you were so small, they were nearly your own size.

"(Y/n), I think you need to try and get out of the room."

"But Dirk," you whine, "they're so cute!"

After so long, you had finally decided to play the DLC for Little Nightmares and you loved it.

"Yes, I know they're cute, but you've been playing with them for the past 10 minutes." He tries to reason.

"Ugh, fine." You whine, tossing the small creature up onto the tabletop.

You lean against Dirk as he continues to watch you play.

"Hey, I was supposed to ask the other day," Dirk begins, "but do you want to come and watch the meteor shower with me tonight?"

"Sure thing," you nod, eyes still trained on the screen, "are the others coming?"

"Nah, I already messaged them," he sighs, "they're all busy."

"Ah, ok."

With that you bring your concentration back onto your game.

"So, are we going to the cliff?" you ask.

You were sitting in the passenger seat of Dirk's car. You were clad in a hoodie and jeans, while Dirk had his usual white shirt and jeans. Music was playing quietly in the background as the two talked.

"Yeah, it'll be easier to see it from there," Dirk nods, "less light pollution."

The scenery wasn't very interesting, as all you could see from the car were trees. You rest your elbow right beside the window and rest your chin on your palm.

It was a little cold in the car, but you didn't really mind, although your fingers were a little numb from being outside earlier.

It didn't take long for the two of you to arrive at your destination.

"The shower doesn't start until about midnight," Dirk tells you, "so we have about 10 minutes."

You nod and the two of you unpack the stuff you had brought. A picnic blanket, a warm blanket and some food. It wasn't long until you were cuddled up on the picnic blanket, waiting for the meteor shower to begin.

It started off with a single streak across the sky, which caused you to jump in excitement.

"Ooh, ooh, there goes a comet."

Just as you had finished saying this, the sky lit up with streaks of light. You grin as you look up, it looked incredible.

Unknown to you, Dirk had glanced down to look at you, watching as you excitedly wriggle in your seat.

"Alright, calm down." Dirk says, wrapping an arm around your shoulder.

This actually stops you from moving about.

"Thank you for this, Dirk," you tell him, not even looking away from the sky, "this has made me so happy."

"No problem."

'Because if you're happy, I'm happy.'
