Game On | Human!Sollux x Reader (Part 3)
The next time you awoke you were still lying beside Sollux, his hand grasping yours. You glance outside of the window to see that it was still dark outside. Just as you were about to close your eyes once again you see a flicker of neon light. Your eyes snap wide open and you could feel your eyes glassing over with tears. You knew exactly what light was coming from, and you sure as hell didn't feel like being caught.
As quietly as you could, you lift the hand that Sollux wasn't grasping and shake Sollux. He groans and shifts, making you wince.
"Sollux." You whisper.
You watch as his eyes open, he looks annoyed and kind of confused. But once the neon light bled through the window once again, showing your scared face, his face changes to one of horror.
"It's okay." Sollux whispers, trying to calm you down.
Sollux points over to Nepeta, who was still sleeping, gesturing for you to wake her up. You nod stiffly and let go of Sollux's hand. You turn around and begin to shake Nepeta. She hums and blinks her eyes open. She must have noticed the lights outside and didn't say anything. You feel Sollux nudge your side and look over. He gestures for you both to grab your weapons and to follow him. You nod and begin to move, trying not to make any noise.
You all make your way out of the room, crawling along the dirty floor until you reach the back door. Dave, who was at the front, opens the door and you all get to your feet. All at once, you run across the backyard, the backyard covered in the bright lights from the alien ships. You scream when a laser almost hits you, the grass where the laser had shot was completely gone, and the grass around it was burnt.
You notice that Nepeta was falling behind and grab her hand in order to pull her along. You hear the laser go off once more and Nepeta scream. Your eyes widen and you look behind you to see Nepeta let go of your hand and fall to the ground. You call out her name as you watch blood drip from her mouth and her eyes lose their brightness before she goes completely limp on the grass.
"(Y/n), keep running!" you hear Sollux yell.
You turn back and continue running forward, your cheeks now drenched with tears. You hadn't known her for very long, but it was still traumatic to see her die right in front of you.
"Player 4 defeated." The same voice you had heard at the beginning.
This just made you sob louder, but you continue to run behind the other two, because you sure as hell didn't want to be the next to die.
The three of you had been running for what felt like hours. The sun had already begun to rise, which gave you more visibility as you ran around the forest. You were sure that the aliens had stopped chasing after you, but you were too scared to stop. But when Dave stops, you and Sollux do the same.
"I think we can stop now." Dave states.
As soon as he says that you collapse onto the ground. This makes the other two turn to look at you. You begin to run your cheeks, feeling dry tears still stuck to your face. Sollux kneels in front of you; he wraps his arms around your shoulders. You lean your head against his chest.
"I don't think I can do this." You sob.
"Shh, it's okay." Sollux attempts to sooth you.
"No it's not," you continue to sob; "I don't want to die."
Sollux doesn't say anything as he rubs your back and allows you to cry. You really thought you had run out of tears earlier, but apparently not.
"Well I guess we'll stay here for a while." Dave says as he sits down, leaning against a tree.
You weren't sure what was to come, but you knew that it would be absolute hell.
"Player 3 defeated."
You scream as you slam your hands against the weird force field that held you in the cell. You could feel slight shocks every time you hit the force field, but you ignored it.
"(Y/n), stop." You hear Sollux's voice.
But you ignore it as you continue to scream and hit at the force field. You feel Sollux's arms wrap around your waist and pull you away. After a moment you calm down, going limp in his arms. Sollux sits down, you in his lap. You twist yourself so you could hide your face in his neck. You feel one of Sollux's hands run through your hair.
"There's no way out, is there?" you mumble.
"I'm sorry," Sollux replies, "but I think we've reached the end of the line."
"Oh god." you mumble, beginning to shake.
"Listen, I have no idea what is going to happen," Sollux says, "but I hope that when we die we go back to our normal lives."
"But then I'll never see you, Dave or Nepeta ever again." You tell him.
You had only known Nepeta for a while, but you had been hiding with Dave and Sollux for a few months. That was until the three of you were caught by the aliens and chucked in a cell.
"I'll find you," Sollux nods, "I'll search forever if I need to."
You smile at this; someone you had only known for a few months was willing to go this far for you. Your frown disappears when you hear some of the aliens coming back. You pull your face from Sollux's neck and look up at him.
What happened next was not what you expected. Sollux leans forward and presses his lips to yours. Your eyes widen and you freeze, before you kiss back. Your eyes begin to well up with tears as you wrap your arms around his neck. When you felt your lungs tightening due to lack of air, you pull back and press your forehead to his.
You wince when you hear the force field come down and you're pulled away from Sollux by your arm. You scream as you dragged away from Sollux, he tries to reach out to you, but another alien stops him. You take one last look at him as the door closes, you weren't sure if that would be last time you'd ever see him again.
You didn't bother struggling, knowing that there was no way out of this. You scream when see the corpse of Dave. There was a giant hole in his chest and around him was a large puddle of blood surrounding him. You begin to cry as you're strapped to a table. The table lifts so you're in a vertical position, before you was a large machine. The machine begins to light up and it fires. Another scream rips through your throat as the laser shoots right into your chest. But the pain doesn't last long before you're left in eternal darkness.
"Player 1 defeated."
