Game On | Human!Sollux x Reader (Part 2)
"Well shit." Sollux states, slumping against a wall.
"This is going to suck ass." You mutter angrily.
You notice that the girl, Nepeta, was scared.
"Are you alright?" you ask her.
"Hm? Oh, yeah," she replies, shrugging, "I just never thought I'd ever be in this situation."
"So, now what?" Dave asks.
"Guess we go and find supplies." Sollux shrugs.
You all nod in agreement and make your way out of the building. Outside was even worse than you could have thought. Most of the buildings in the city were devastated, barely even rubble. The few buildings that were still up looked as though they were going to collapse.
You glance up at the sky to see that instead of the usual blue you were used to, it was a smoggy grey. There were also a few small blips, which you assumed were alien ships.
"Alright, let's look for shops that are still standing." You speak up.
The four of you walk in silence, every small sound sending your nerves off. As your walking along the cracked street, your eye catches a small grocery store that seemed to be semi standing. You make your way over there, you weren't sure if the others were following you, but at this point it didn't really matter. You see that all of the glass in the windows was smashed on the floor, so you step through the bay window. You wander amongst the shelves, hoping to find something edible.
You grin when you see several cans sitting around on one of the shelves. You pull out the cans, not reading the labels as you shove them in wherever you could. Once your pockets and hoodie were filled you waddle out of the store.
"Guys." You call.
They all turn to look at you, when they noticed that there were cans stuffed in your clothing they run up to you. They take a few each, so now you all had three each, you kept yours hidden in the hood of your jumper.
"Alright, let's look for somewhere to spend the night," Nepeta speaks up, "otherwise we'll be walking around in the dark."
You all agree that's a good idea and begin to once again search. In your search you manage to find a few more cans of food and 6 sleeping bags. 6 may sound like too many, but they would probably make as good pillows.
It was kind of difficult to tell, but you were pretty sure the sun was setting. Since you couldn't actually see the sun, but it had begun to get darker so you just assumed.
After an extensive search, you manage to find a small house that seemed to be in relatively good condition. You began to make a small campsite in a single bare room. All of the food had been stacked in one corner of the room. The two spare sleeping bags were stretched out on top of each other as a long makeshift pillow. The other four sleeping bags were snuggled side by side.
"So, we'll open one can to share tonight," Sollux explains, "we can't start a fire otherwise we attract attention."
"So, who's ready for cold bean?" Dave says, holding up one of the cans that read 'Baked Beans'.
"I'll open it." You offer.
Dave tosses you the can and you manage to catch it. You pull out your knife and cut it open.
"Okay, so how do we do this?" Dave asks.
"Take a mouthful each." You shrug, gulping down a fair quarter of the beans.
You pass the can to Nepeta, who does the same.
Once you finish eating you glance outside. Your eyes widen when you see the same weird aliens outside.
"Guys, aliens." You whisper, ducking down as to avoid getting spotted.
The others do the same, so now you're all stuck bobbing on the floor, waiting for them to leave. You hear the sound of a gun go off and flinch. The familiar sound of humans screaming reaches your ears, making you gasp.
"There are people out there." You whisper.
You look out the window just in time to see a man get shot in the head. You slap a hand over your mouth, your eyes tearing up.
After what felt like hours the aliens finally disappear, now you let out your sob.
"Oh god," you whimper, "they shot him."
You feel an arm ruffle your hair, you look up to see Sollux looking at you solemnly.
"There wasn't anything we could have done." He states.
You didn't believe that, but you nod anyway.
"Alright, let's go to sleep."
It had been about an hour since you had gotten into your sleeping back. You were still lying wide awake, staring at the wall just above the head of Sollux. You felt that it would be weird if you stared at Sollux, so the wall it was. Nepeta was on the other side of you, pressed against your back in an attempt to stay warm, you could hear her snoring. She kind of sounded like she was purring, which was kind of cute. Dave was on the other side of Sollux; he too, was probably already asleep. The four of you were quite close to one another, since it was cold and there was no heater.
"Why're you still awake?" Sollux's whispering voice almost makes me jump.
"I can't sleep." You state.
"Me neither." Sollux replies.
"I thought you were asleep?" you mumble.
"I was trying to, but it didn't really work." He sighs.
"So, what were you doing before you were zapped here?" you ask him.
"I was at home on my computer, you?"
"Just got home from my friend's birthday." You whisper back.
You really didn't know what to say, so the both of you mainly sit in silence.
"Are alright?" Sollux asks after a while of silence.
"Well, I got taken from my home, zapped into an alien invasion and watched a man get shot in the head," you state, "I'm absolutely terrified."
You close your eyes and sigh. You just wanted to go home and stuff your face while watching movies.
Your eyes open when you feel a hand grab yours.
"We'll be okay." He mutters before his eyes close once more.
You notice that once he fell asleep, he didn't let go of your hand. You close your eyes, hoping that you'd fall asleep soon. You feel your hand being squeezed comfortingly one last time before you fall asleep.
