Crash Landing | Wingstuck!Jade x Reader

It had taken you quite some time to get your garden looking as nice as it does. When you had first moved into the place it was horrible. The previous owners of the place had owned a few dogs so everything had been dug up, the grass and flower beds were a mess. You had spent countless hours and plenty of your precious dollars to make it the nice, green, flower filled yard you had always wanted.

So when you hear a loud crashing sound come from your backyard you panic. You jump up from the kitchen table, where you had been enjoying a nice drink. It only takes you mere seconds to get to the backyard. Your eyes widen at the sight before you.

Your bird bath, which sat in the middle of your backyard, was now tipped over, the bowl cracked into several pieces. You slowly walk over to the bird bath, inspecting around it in order to find what had broken it. But alas, you couldn't find anything besides a few feathers, which probably came from birds.

A sigh escapes your lips as you turn around to return to your drink. But you stop in your tracks when you see someone laying on one of your garden beds. You would have just shouted at them for breaking your bird bath, but something stopped you. The pair of bright feathered wings that poked from their back. You also notice that they seem to be bleeding.

Cautiously, you walk towards them. Once you get close enough, you see that it was a girl. She had black hair and wore a green dress. You gulp before gently shaking her shoulder.

"Um, excuse me," you speak, "are you alright?"

The girl groans before she blinks her green eyes open. When she notices you she jumps up and begins backing away.

"I'm so sorry, it was an accident!" she exclaims, clearing panicked.

"It's okay," you soothe, "but you're injured, can you come inside so I can help you out?"

The girl stops freaking out and stares at you for a moment. She looks behind her to see that one of her wings was in fact bleeding. She doesn't say anything, but she does nod. You reach a hand out and she takes it. You lean her inside your house and sit her on your couch. When you come back with the first aid kit you notice she seems tense.

"You don't need to be scared," you state, sitting down beside her, "don't worry about the bird bath, I'll get that fixed up."

She nods, but doesn't say anything. You open up the first aid kit and get out some antiseptic wipes. You rip open the packet and pull out the piece of damp cloth.

"Alright, I'm just going to quickly clean up the blood and bandage up your wing," you tell her, "I'll make sure you'll still be able to fly."

"Okay." The girl smiles.

You nod and begin to wipe off the blood. The sticky crimson liquid lathered her bright green feathers, so you make sure to get rid of as much as you could.

"So, my name's (y/n)," you speak up, trying to start a conversation, "what's your name?"

"I'm Jade." She replies.

"So, why'd you crash?" you ask her.

"Oh, um, I was flying over to my friend's house when a rock flew at me," she explains, "it hit me and I fell."

You frown at this; someone had thrown a rock at the poor girl. That's just cruel.

Once you get almost all of the blood off of the wing, you begin to pull out some bandaging. But you stop when there's a knock at the door.

"I'll be back in a moment." You tell Jade.

You stand up and walk over to the front door. You open it to come face to face with some teenage boys.

"Can I help you?" you ask them.

"Yeah, did a large bird drop into your backyard?" one of the boys ask.

"We threw a rock at one and saw it fall into your yard." Another boy blurts out, which gets him a hit in the back of the head by another kid.

"Well, no I have not, and even if there had been a bird that dropped into my yard I wouldn't tell you nasty kids." You snarl and slam the door shut.

You hear the boys protesting on the other side of the door, but they disappear after a moment. You take a deep breath and walk back into the lounge room where Jade was still seated. You take your place beside her once more and grab the bandages.

"Was that the person who knocked me from the sky?" Jade asks.

"Yes, it was," you reply, wrapping the injury up, "it was a group of teenage boys."

Once you finish wrapping up her wing, you close the first aid kit and sit it on the coffee table in front of you.

"There, all done." You smile.

"Thank you." Jade smiles back.

"So, do you think you can fly?" you ask.

Jade gets to her feet and spreads her wings; she flaps them a few times before nodding.

"All good." She nods.

"Alright, I think the boys have left, so it should be safe for you to go." You say, standing up.

Both of you walk out to the backyard.

"Well, it was nice meeting you, Jade." You smile, holding a hand out.

"It was nice meeting you too." Jade smiles, shaking your hand.

"Don't be afraid to visit." You chuckle.

"Of course." Jade replies.

You watch as she lifts from the ground and flies off into the sky.

It had been about 2 months since you had seen Jade. You hadn't really expected her to come visit, but you were a little disappointed.

You stare up at the blue sky from your spot of the grass, your hair splayed around you. The sweet smell of the flowers filled your nose. You close your eyes and take a deep breath. You frown slightly when you hear a dull humming sound. You open your eyes to see a familiar pair of bright green wings.

You jump to your feet, excited to see the interesting girl.

"Hi Jade!" you exclaim when the girl lands.

"Hi (y/n)!" she replies with just as much enthusiasm.

You notice a strange looking flower in pot that Jade was holding.

"This is for you," she smiles, shoving the pot towards you, "I saw you loved flowers so I got this from my home, as thanks."

"Wow, it's so pretty and unique," you grin at the new addition to your garden, "thank you so much."

"No problem."

"So, would you like to come in for tea?" you ask.

"Ooh, yes please!" Jade exclaims.

"Alright, let's go."
