Rose x Kanaya
Kanaya tugged lightened blue silk sash as tight as it would go around her masterpiece. Working never seemed to end to her, as the night proceeded so did she. Quick fingers waltzed over the material of the shining satin dress. Kanaya indeed did enjoy making such clothing, but a break was certainly necessary.
The tiny needle she had been clutching calmly in between her lips as she pulled and pushed at her creation was pulled from it's perch. Kanaya allowed herself to become distracted from her current task, stabbing the needle into a pin cushion on the table beside her.
Kanaya had been living with Rose Lalonde for quite a while now due to some unfortunate events, and despite her being Kanaya's hidden flush crush, living with the Lalonde was going quite smoothly. They were very similar - which is why Kanaya was so fond of her -. It made life a lot easier.
Kanaya closed the designated design room door silently behind her, attempting not to disturb the likely sleeping Rose. Trolls do not sleep during the night, but rather during the day, or at least they avoid sunlight. Humans on the other hand sleep during the night, leaving Kanaya to her lonesome throughout that time.
Kanaya quietly stepped towards her living room, planning on reading a book before returning to work. As she reached the entrance of the room, she spotted a snoozing Rose lying comfortably on one of the leather sofas. Her short blonde hair was no longer neat, but quite messy from tossing and turning. It seemed Rose did not give into sleep without a fight.
A book lied open on her chest, rising and falling with each breath. One arm idly relaxed over the side of the sofa, the clutching the book lazily to her chest.
Kanaya laughed at Rose's ways, walking towards her and moving the book away from her sleeping form. Kanaya flung roses legs over her left arm, into what she believed was known as a 'bridal hold.' The thought of which this hold was named after made a jade green blush creep to the rainbow drinker's cheeks.
Rose relaxed into Kanaya's body as the troll attempted to bring her to back to her human bed. Having no control over what she does while she sleeps, Rose was unaware of how far into the crook of Kanaya's neck she had snuggled. Kanaya felt yet another coat of green covering her cheeks.
Kanaya affectionately lied the snoring Lalonde down on her bed. Rose didn't seem to like this action, as she wrapped her arms around Kanaya's neck, clinging to her. Despite her attempts, Kanaya could not get Rose's arms away from her. She decided that maybe just one nap wouldn't hurt, and Rose's unconscious form wouldn't remember the occurrence.
Kanaya smiled to herself as she shuffled Rose over slightly. With arms still clinging tightly to Kanaya, Rose was finally moved over enough for Kanaya to lie beside her. Rose instantly snuggled into Kanaya, and Kanaya back to her. She hoped Rose did not wake up anytime soon. Her motherly instincts kicked in as she watched Rose shiver beside her. She tugged the thick blanket up and over the both of them and lied there. Kanaya wasn't sure if it was possible for her to sleep here, but somehow by some miracle, she fell asleep.
As Kanaya awoke once more, she was startled to see Rose awake and still continuing to lie over her torso. Half lidded pink eyes stared back at Kanaya.
"Good morning Kanaya."
"And To You Rose."
"May I ask, how did I get here?"
Rose's questioning gaze was set upon Kanaya's.
"You Had Fallen Asleep On Our 'Sofa,' I Decided To Bring You Somewhere More Comfortable."
"And may I ask, how did you get here?"
"I Simply Decided I Would Join You In Your Sleeping."
"Is that so?"
Rose rolled off of Kanaya and stepped out of her bed, still smiling back at the troll.
"Tea Kanaya?"
"Yes Please, If That Is Not Too Much Trouble."
"Never."
Rose exited the room, Kanaya hot on her heels until they both reached their kitchen. The vintage teapot Kanaya had recently acquired for the both of them to use was going to take a while to brew tea. Rose continued with her book while Kanaya began to walk back towards her design room. Her work was nearly complete, almost ready for her to gift to her flush crush.
The needle she tugged from the pin cushion was cold to the touch - something it hadn't been in days, with thread already pulled through it's eye. With each pull of the needle Kanaya concentrated more and more on the image of Rose wearing her masterpiece. She knew her measurements, as creepy as that sounded. Rose was Kanaya's living mannequin. And she didn't seem to have any objections.
The stitching was finally complete. Kanaya slid the now done masterpiece off of her mannequin as Rose called her back into the kitchen.
Rose knew of Kanaya's rainbow drinking habits, and did not dislike her for it. In fact she slid troll blood into anything she made for Kanaya.
Kanaya folded the dress neatly and wrapped it inside a box. Carrying it over to the kitchen where Rose daintily sat on a wooden bar stool located at their breakfast bar island bench.
Rose clutched a mug in her left palm, the heat from the tea did not seem to bother her in the slightest. In her other hand, the book she was nose down in the night before that she was yet to complete.
Rose lifted her eyes from where they were set on her book. Kanaya continued to walk towards the kitchen but was soon stopped by Rose grabbing her left hand and pulling her gently back beside her.
"Kanaya, may I ask what that is?"
Kanaya smiled and sat on the stool beside Rose, handing her the neatly and perfectly wrapped box, smile steadily growing towards the sky. Rose giggled and sat down her tea beside her book. She took the gift thankfully from Kanaya's hands and began to unwrap it carefully.
Rose pulled the top off the box off. Her fingers roamed the silk of the dress. Rose gawked slightly at the beautiful work, fingers dancing against the sash. Kanaya watched Rose's expression change to awe and appreciation. The urge to tell Rose about her flush crush she had adapted towards her was stronger than she had ever felt. A wave of bravery flushed over her.
"Rose," Kanaya began, "I Have Something I Wish To Discuss With You."
Rose lifted her eyes from the beautiful dress. "Proceed."
"It Seems Over The Past Few Sweeps That We Have Been Living Together, I Have Adapted Some Strong Flushed Feelings For... You."
Rose smiled as if this was brand new news but the twinkle in her eye gave her away, she'd known all along. Kanaya shifted in the stool she was sitting in, avoiding Rose's gaze. Rose on the other hand had other inching closer to Kanaya and lifting the side of her face, beginning to bring it towards her own before their lips finally met.
