Eridan x Feferi (Sadstuck)

Feferi spewed up discolored, polluted salt water. It burnt her throat like fire as it escaped her body. Fuchsia tears glided down her soft, freckled grey cheeks. She had cried so much it felt as if she had created a fuchsia ocean, or at least she wished she could cry herself one. It wasn't long before she fell to her knees, no longer caring about anyone seeing her, her knees too weak to hold the rest of her body up any longer. The sand was full of small shards of glass, from broken bottles. She didn't notice them until she could feel them piercing her skin.

Eridan was no better. He had been throwing up his insides since he reached the shore, and now he was curled up on the ground screaming every profanity he could think of as loudly as he could. He could feel violet blood dripping from a gash on the top of his right fin, but that was the least of his concerns. He had no idea where she was, but he could hear her cries. He wiped his glasses on a piece of torn cloth that had attached itself to him in attempts to clean the lenses. He needed to see her, to make sure she was okay. He swore to gog, if she wasn't okay, he'd be culling a lot of land dwellers. His glasses were slightly easier to see through now, still foggy, but not as foggy as before. He whipped his head around frantically, looking for Feferi. He soon noticed her crying, her knees bleeding and her eyes leaking tears at a startling rate. He pushed himself up as quickly as possible, wincing from the pain. He probably tore something. Walking hurt a like a bitch, it felt like someone was stabbing him each time he moved, but he needed to help her before he worried about himself.

Eridan rushed up behind the hysterical Feferi, placing a gentle hand on both of the sea dweller's shaking arms. Feferi's frail hands were now covering her face, stopping Eridan from being able to look into her grief stricken eyes as she sobbed into her palms. She was crouched down on the beach with her legs tucked up to her stomach. She seemed so small tucked up and crying.

Eridan wasn't sure how to fix this, none of the seadwellers knew either. But  the one thing he wanted to be able to fix was the girl in front of him. It didn't seem like an easy task, but he was determined to help her.

"Landwwellers." Eridan had nothing else to say. After all, he had no one else to blame.

The ocean was home to all of the sea creatures and seadwellers. It was home to the both of them. But landwellers were selfish, and they chose to dump trash into their ocean.

Eridan wanted nothing more than to give them all a piece of his mind, not just for hurting him, but for hurting her. He thought about his brother and father. He wondered if the two of them had made it out.

There wasn't much Eridan could do, so he found a way to bring Feferi into his open and warm arms. He pushed her against his chest, squeezing her a little tighter as he began to worry about his family. Even though it seemed like he despised them, they were his family and he loved them.

He rubbed her back soothingly, making circles with his fingers. His entire personality had changed, he actually seemed to care. He could feel fat Indigo tears attacking his eyes as Feferi continued to mourn the death of the people she had lived with her entire life.

"Please, stop," Eridan was on the verge of tears. "Please stop crying."

Feferi sniffled and pushed her head against Eridan's chest. Her tears now slowing.

"Look w)(at they did to our )(ome." Feferi's voice was quiet, soft and broken, tears still forcing their way out of her eyes.

"I knoww."

Eridan took a deep breath, patting Feferi's back gently. Eridan peered somewhere over the city the landwellers had built themselves. There were so many other places they could dump their trash, why did they choose here?

Eridan pulled his scarf off of his neck, placing his hand under Feferi's chin and lifting up her head. Her fuchsia tears and slightly wet grey skin glistened in the sunlight. He wiped her tears, determined to get her mind off of what had just happened. He thought about what he could say to make the situation a little better. But what exactly could he say? Sorry land dwellers are stupid? Sorry your friends are dead? He shouldn't have to be sorry. It wasn't his fault, and it wasn't hers either.

He wrapped his treasured scarf around her neck. Her eyes widened as she felt the fabric against her neck. It didn't take her long to notice Eridan's gills. He usually hid them with the scarf, but they were now in full view. She blushed a light shade of pink. Eridan liked the way it looked on her. He smiled at her, feeling a blush of his own appear on his face.

Eridan's eyes were full of love and concern. He placed a hand on Feferi's freckled cheek, pulling her face a little closer to his, almost as if he was asking for permission. Sure enough, Feferi's blush continued to spread as her eyes flickered from his eyes to his lips and back again. Eridan smiled before closing the gap between them. Her lips were sweet and tasted of candy. He felt Feferi wrap her arms around his neck. They stayed like that for a while before Feferi broke the kiss. She returned her gaze to his eyes. Eridan finally thought of what he could say. He pulled Feferi back into a hug.

"I'm here, and I alwways wwill be," He could feel Feferi smiling against his shirt.

"Flus)(ed for you -Eridan."

Eridan gaped. Feferi lifted her head from his shoulders and giggled sweetly.

"Flushed for you too."
