Equius x Reader
It was just another boring week night and you were trying desperately to get some sleep, but apparently mother nature had other ideas. You were horrified of thunderstorms when you were younger, and to be completely honest you still are. You didn't know what it was about them, they were just scary.
Another loud growl of thunder interrupted your thoughts, followed by the bright flash of a lightning bolt. You dropped your phone and cursed, hiding your head under the sheets of the bed you were currently in. You had been attempting to distract yourself by surfing the internet aimlessly and looking at memes, but you could no longer ignore the noise outside.
One more loud rumble of thunder, and you were done. You knew who could help with this, you just hoped he was awake. Your friend Jade introduced you to all of her Alternian friends a few months ago, and you found out that one of the trolls lived next door to you. You had got to know the sweaty muscle troll quite well, and you could definitely say you guys were at least friends. Although saying that made you feel a little... Disappointed almost. One of the trolls tried to explain quadrants to you a couple of days ago... You think this was called having a flush crush. You supposed that was why you found spending time with him so comforting.
You jumped up from your bed and dragged one of the sheets along with you for extra warmth. You didn't really care if you got wet between leaving your house and making it to Equius', it wasn't that far after all.
Another rumble of thunder rang in your ears. You jumped as soon as you heard it, grumbling and speeding up. You could feel yourself shaking despite trying to remain calm and collected, reaching for the doorknob was a challenge. Cold air blew onto your face, followed by droplets of rain as you stepped outside, hugging the sheet you had brought with you close for warmth and to avoid it getting soaked. Equius' house was only a few steps away.
You knocked on the blue blood's door, trying not to be too loud, but loud enough for him to hear you. A few moments later, the familiar troll with cracked shades swung the door open in an irritated fashion. Equius had some serious bed head going on, and to be honest you found it kind of adorable. Equius' expression changed from one of anger to one of concern as he stood up straight and pulled you inside hurriedly.
"D --> Low b100d, what on Alternia are you doing outside in this horrid weather?" Equius glanced at your shirts which was now see through from the intense rain. He blushed a bright blue and cursed his brain for the 100d thoughts crossing his mind. He distracted himself by looking at the expression of fear and sadness on your features. He couldn't stand seeing this look on his flushcrush's face, and could feel his own expression softening.
Yet another torturous rumble of thunder tormented you. You jumped and began to shake more intensely, you really hoped Equius didn't notice. He however noticed the pure look of fear which had only intensified with each passing moment.
"D --> (Y/N), are you quite alright?"
"Yeah... I-I'm good."
You whimpered as you saw a flash of light out of the corner of your eye. Equius finally connected the dots, giving you a worried smile.
"D --> I wish I could believe that."
Equius led you over to his sofa, motioning for you to sit down before he sat beside you. You could see a bead of sweat forming on his temple. He seemed to be thinking of ways to help you as he wiped it away with a soft, warm towel that had been sitting on the table across from his sofa ready for when it needed to be used, which in Equius' case was always.
"D --> Are you afraid of the storm?"
You nodded weakly. How embarrassing, you, practically a full grown woman being afraid of a thunderstorm. Equius seemed to pity you, but he didn't judge you. He seemed to yet again contemplate what he was about to do.
"D --> Do you trust me." Equius took off his cracked shades. You could see his astonishing blue eyes from where you were. His gaze was stony, and even his eyes looked strong. You blushed slightly, seeing them set on your face and wandering all over your features.
"O-of course."
Equius sat back on the sofa and opened his arms. You got the hint and moved towards him, your back against his stomach, his chin resting on the top of your head. You knew he was extremely strong, and he worried about hurting you, which was why he was so careful and gentle. The first time he hugged you, he nearly broke your back. He very slowly and gently wrapped his arms around you in a protective manor. You relaxed into his frame, listening to his blood pusher doing its job. He let silence take over and buried his chin into your messy and slightly wet hair as softly as he could. You wondered if someone could possibly hurt another person by too strongly putting their chin in someone else's hair. Thunder sounded outside again, making you whimper and jump slightly.
"D --> Do not worry (Y/N), as long as you are in my STRONG arms, nothing can get to you." Equius smiled for the first time in a while. "D --> Not even the storm."
You smiled and giggled, feeling more and more sleepy. Your blush matched his in intensity. You could feel the heat radiating off of his cheeks, as he could feel it radiating off yours.
Right as sleep came to claim you and your eyelids became heavy, a pair of surprisingly soft grey lips met with the top of your head. You could no longer hold your eyelids open, a small smile appearing on your face as you fell asleep in the arms of your flush crush.
"D --> As 100d as this may sound I am flushed for you (Y/N)."
"Flushed for you too Equius."
