The One Where ...
Martha's Pov:
I woke up in John's embrace causing me to smile. I snuggled into his chest not caring if he woke up really. Just more time for us to pay attention to each other.
He silently stirred his sleep, before anything he rubbed his eyes. Cutely scrunching up his nose.
"Good morning," I whispered.
"Hhhmmmmmm," his arms raised above his head stretching.
"It's morning time," I smiled.
"Damn," he mumbled sitting up and rolling out of bed.
"I'm gonna go start breakfast," John yawned leaving the room.
I scoffed laying back down.
John's Pov:
I expected the kitchen to be dead silent but instead I heard the sound of giggles and bacon frying.
I walked in running my hands through my hair ends before taking out the hair tie.
I almost hated when it was down like that.
"DAD!" Frances screamed from the bar stool.
"Yes," I said sliding in next to her.
"Lexi put me to sleep last night and then made me pancakes,"
"Oh he did," I pretended to act shocked.
"And I had a nightmare but Lexi found me and put me back to sleep while singing this really pretty song and Lexi is really pretty too is he my new mom?"
"What about your actual mom?" I asked.
Frances shrugged going back to eating her small stack of pancakes.
Alex turned around handing me a plate with my own stack of pancakes. His eyes were red and blotchy and for some reason uncomfortable.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," he sighed.
"No you're not," I mumbled.
"Look, I'm fine," he wiped his hands on the kitchen towel.
"Do you need a hug?"
Alex grumbled before whispering a small, "yeah,"
"Come 'ere," I smiled with my arms open.
Alex walked around the counter and falling into my arms. His head ended up in the crook of my neck and I couldn't help but enjoy the feeling too much. I wanted him closer to me.
I squeezed him a little tighter before letting go.
"Why is Lexi sad?" Frances frowned.
"Lexi is just tired," Alex booped her nose.
"No you're sad,"
"Yeah Lexi, why are you sad?" I joined in on the teasing causing Alex's face to turn bright red. He walked back around the counter with a playful glare.
"Don't call me that,"
"Why not?"
Alex sighed, "because I said so,"
"Fine, but really, why are you sad?"
Alex leaned forward over the counter.
"I don't think your girlfriend likes me very much," Alex whispered trying not to provoke Frances.
"She's not my girlfriend, just my-"
"Baby mama," Alex said with a raised eye brow.
"Ummmm,"
"I'm sorry, that was rude, that was unnecessary-" Alex started to back away from where he was leaning.
I grabbed his arm before he could.
"No, it's just," I turned to Frances making sure she was occupied with her thoughts, instead of finishing the sentence I leaned in leering my eyes flutter shut.
I heard a small gasp come from Alex as my lips collided with his.
I didn't mean to.
I think.
I just wanted to he closer to him.
Really close.
Physically.
And maybe emotionally.
And a little part of me wanted him to want me the same way.
Holy shit do I like him?
I felt Alex push away from me after a couple seconds and just a little after foot steps coming down the stairs.
Alex immediately went back to what he was doing trying not to get flustered and practically trembling.
"Alex-"
"No it's fine, good morning Martha," Alex did his best to smile at her.
Martha waved, coming to my side and kissing my cheek before sitting down.
Alex placed a plate in front of her without saying a word.
In those short seconds I was able to see Alex's eyes go dull.
When I first bumped into him his eyes practically sparkled.
And I mean like, this isn't a fanfiction but I like to look at people's eyes.
Not in a creepy way.
The interaction was slow and almost painful for me to even watch.
And I'm not even exaggerating.
"It's really quiet," Frances said taking another bite of her pancakes, "and that's on periodt,"
I choked on my pancakes in shock meanwhile Alex basically fell on the floor.
"Martha, what are you teaching the child,"
"Street smarts," she responded with a smile, "And that's on periodt,"
"And where do you come from," Alex asked.
"The South,"
"Oh my god, for the love of christ himself please don't," Alex begged.
I snickered as Martha sent me a glare.
"Lexi, I'm done, and that's on periodt," Frances said.
I slammed my head on the counter.
Angelica's Pov:
I tried to calm down.
I had one job.
Not to fuck things up.
Especially this.
Sally was being considerate enough to let me take her out on a date.
Let alone speak to me.
It was 6.
The date was at 7.
My life ends at 7.
